Cards that Card Card Drive Winners

Hello!

Well, the Cards that Care card drive for the elderly was a huge success. We received over 3,800 cards! These cards were divided up and sent to many many many nursing homes across the US and Canada. Thank you so much for contributing!

I wanted to give a shout out to my friends, Jana Millen and Sandi Neumann. I haven’t been feeling 100% lately, so they did a lot to get the cards out. Thanks to Vera, also, for taking this on with me.

I also wanted to give another shout out to the folks over at Simon Says Stamp. As a company, they got together and sent a ton of handmade cards. I just think that is impressive – says a lot about the character of the people who work there. Admire that greatly. Thanks, girls!

  1. Congrats to the winners! A huge thank you to everyone who made cards. I took a huge box to the nursing home where my mom resides & the response was wonderful. The residents loved the cards. Some of them have no family, so it was wonderful to be able to receive a card. Bless you all!

  2. Congratulations to all of these lucky winners, but the real winners were the recipients of the cards. I’m sure these cards brought many smiles to many faces! I’m already working on next years cards so I’ll have more to send. Thanks for bringing attention to this great cause!!

  4. The home that I delivered my box to was so excited to receive them. I can’t believe there were 3900 made. How wonderful. I’m sure it would have been double if more people had known about it. Thank you Jennifer for all you did to get these gathered. They were so appreciated by the elderly.

  8. That is so exciting. I’m so glad I got a chance to participate and teach my daughter about giving back (I had her sign all of the cards). Thank you for coordinating the effort, I’m sure we brightened the day of many people. Merry Christmas, Jennifer. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with your fans all year 🙂

  9. Jennifer, I just wanted to say that this inspired me to make cards, and with every intention of sending them off to you, my grand daughter and I made 45 cards…but my MIL recently passed away and she had spent nearly two months in a care center close to home; after being there every day and seeing these seniors who are often alone with only those wonderful care givers, we took our batch of cards to this facility last Friday and with three grandchildren we passed them out one by one and wished them a Merry Christmas, they ALL so loved the gift, the gesture and seeing the young ones! Thank you, and I think we will do this for Easter…it seems like such a small thing to do to give a bit of happiness and to be a “Light” for others!

  10. Thank you for gathering great people to do great things! You light a warm and bright fire :). The Simon family was excited to contribute to a great cause. We had a lot of fun too!

    Merry Christmas!

  11. I’m so glad that so many people gave so much and touched so many hearts! You ladies did an amazing job at very busy time of the year! Thanks so much for delivering this message of love and caring to those who need it!

  12. As one of the very lucky people that got to receive a box of these cards…I want to thank all of you for this card drive.
I was able to make 400 elderly citizens VERY happy.
The intestinal flu was going through the nursing home so visitors were limited for many days. I came in with the boxes and the activity staff started to cry, had me crying again.
The cards were handed and read to each resident-the smiles were infectious.
You never know how many lives you touch with a card.
Thank you again for allowing me to hand out these beautiful cards.
    Blessings

  13. What a wonderful idea–the recipients must have been so happy to receive their beautiful cards.
On another topic, does anyone know when/if Simon Says is having an after Christmas sale?
