Video: Favorite Adhesives + Giveaway

I am not a very picky person.

But there is one thing I am very picky about: Adhesives. πŸ™‚

Since I use them more then anything, I want the best. I have tried a lot. A lot. And have narrowed it down to a certain few. I get asked about this a lot, so I decided to do a quick video to show them all in action.

Here are the adhesives I show in the video and like so much:

THIS American Crafts This To That Adhesive – permanent dots – make sure you get the right one. HERE are the refills.

THIS Tombow Stamp Runner. HERE are the refills.

THESE American Crafts Foam Dots, 1/8″ thick.

THESE EK Success 3D (foam) Dots, 1/16″ thick.

THIS Glossy Accents, in big (I recommend) or small bottles.

THIS Multi-Medium Matte.

I hope this helps you pick the best adhesive for you.

And how about a giveaway of ALL of these favorite adhesives? Just leave a comment here by Saturday night at 11:59pmEST telling me your favorite adhesives and I will pick a lucky winner of all 6 adhesives from my own stash. When I find something I love, I gotta share. πŸ™‚

Have a fab day.

Glossy Accents, I think. I like that it adheres just about ANYTHING especially little itty bitty things.

  2. Oh my goodness! I always have a love/hate relationship with glue. Always on the hunt for the perfect one. Right now I’m enjoying Tombow Mono adhesive and my new ATG gun with Scotch adhesive. It’s doing a great job of holding my layers on my cards. It’s so embarrassing to give a card to a co-worker and notice two weeks later the front fell off. Geeze….

    Thanks for all you do.

    Debbie

I have a horrible time with tape runners! Seems I’ll go along good for awhile with a new one then they (or maybe it’s me) mess up and I end up throwing it out. Not sure if I’ve tried your favorites…I should be keeping track! For embellishments, Glossy accents or Ultimate Glue win!
    Thanks for the video!

  4. Judy Tutuska says:

Having the right adhesive is sooooo important to me because after making a special card for someone, I can’t afford to have it diminished by using adhesives that “cheapen the look”. I love glossy accents because it’s so versatile. It adds a wonderful dimension to cards and makes things really pop, and is great for adhering some embellishments that would otherwise be tough to adhere.

  5. Stacia Thompson says:

Mine is a Tombone. It is 84 feet of tape in a small compact runner!! I am tape happy with my projects! LOL But will always like to try new things that are recommended. Thank you.

  6. Amy Baldwin says:

My top adhesives that are always within reach are my Tombow tape runner, my Xyron sticker maker…I use it on practically everything! For really hard to adhere items, I love using E600. I am obsessed with things staying together and not falling apart over time.

TFS, your favorite adhesives. Would love to give them a try! πŸ™‚

  7. Lisa J says:

Thank you so much for the video and links! Adhesive can be such a frustrating thing when it doesn’t hold up or causes undesired effects! Thank you for your recommendations!!

  8. SuZeQ says:

Thanks so much. It’s great hearing from the pros just what adhesive works best. Like you, I’ve tried them all. I used to love Duck’s but when they went all “new-and-improved” on me, that didn’t work. So now I’m back to square one and will give This to That a fair try. Love me some Matte Medium and Glossy Accents … and the pop dots, too, that you use. It’s the favorite tape runner that I’m searching for. Thanks again for the advice and recommendations.

  9. Leslie R says:

I really like the TomBow runner and I use Glossy Accents for all my embellies. I would love to try the others. A girl can never have too many adhesives πŸ™‚

  10. Christi says:

My favorite adhesive is ATG. I love the 36 yard rolls and the sticking power.

  11. I also love the American Crafts This to That adhesive (thanks to your recommendation!) and the Glossy Accents, but my other favorite is the Martha Stewart fine point glue pen.

  12. Joan says:

Ahhhh….glue! Just when you think you find the perfect one, it disappears. I used to love the red Duck tape runners and would buy them in bulk with my JoAnn coupon, but then they changed them and now they drive me crazy, so I have been looking for something new. I want to try that American Crafts This and That…looks like it might become a new favorite πŸ™‚

  13. Brenda says:

I love the American Crafts this to that foam dots – definitely my favorite. Lately I’ve been liking the Martha Stewart runner because it does the same thing as the Tombow you showed (small squares or a runner) but I think I’ll price the Tombow because hers can be pricey.
Thanks for the chance to win – I’d love to try them.

  14. Linda says:

I enjoyed the video on adhesives-I hate buying a products then never using it because it’s not as advertised. Thank you for sharing.

  15. Becky says:

You are always so helpful – it’s like testing the product without having to purchase first – thanks so much.

  16. Martha says:

Can’t live without my Multi-medium, use it for paper boxes and chipboard albums

  17. Tammie says:

My favorite is anything by TOMBOW! Great adhesive.
Thanks for sharing your stash Jennifer : )
    You know you rock!

  18. Julie M says:

My favorite adhesive is my ATG gun. That stuff is so awesome. I don’t know how I make cards & scrapbook without it. I’m so glad that my SIL convinced me to switch over a few years ago.

  19. Loretta says:

I am liking Stampin’ Up’s snail adhesive right now.

  20. Diana F says:

I have always had bad luck with tape runners. Just couldn’t find any that worked like they were supposed to, until I discovered Tombow. Right now that is my adhesive of choice, though I do want to try American Crafts. I have some, but keep picking up my Tombow. I love when you do one of these bits, sharing with us the products you love. Gives me a chance to see what else is out there and to get a review before I decide to give it a try. Thanks also for the giveaway

  21. yvonne says:

Love the foam dots you showed and use glossy accents some. Thanks

  22. Nancy says:

I love the This to That. I started using this brand & style since you first recommended it on your site and I haven’t been disappointed. I love the control I have in how much I use and the fact that it NEVER has clogged or gummed up for me. Thanks for your recommendations Jennifer. I love not having to buy many kinds of things to try and find the right one. Your advice is appreciated!

  23. I love the pink ATG gun, but for portability I carry a Scotch Adhesive Dot Roller. It is very similar to the blue AC dots. Both are permanent and both rub off.

  24. Maureen Chandler says:

I am always looking for great adhesives as I love layering! I love glossy accents although I have had it clog often (did not know about your tip!) and I use the TomBow Mono adhesive too. I like the ones that you demonstrated and thank you for not only showing how they work but having a wonderful give away!

  25. Dana says:

This was a such a terrific demonstration! I’ve used plenty of adhesives myself and preferred my Tombow to my current Glue Glider Pro (just want to use up what I have before getting more refills for the Tombow). I’ve heard great things about the ATG gun but have never tried and am hesitant to try another “gun” style glue runner. For adhering ribbon or heavy panels, or when I require very careful lining, I love my Scor-tape. It enables me to only remove backing from one strip at the top of my panel and line it up without the whole panel getting stuck. Then I can push down on the peeled strip and can carefully remove the backings on the other strips.
Thanks so much for your helpful information… I will def have to visit the adhesive aisle of my local scrapbooking store!

  26. Dana D. says:

I started using glossy accents since I saw you recommend it on one of your projects. I will have to try the studio matte one day. And the this to that I haven’t tried, but will now after seeing your video. Thanks for taking the time to show us all your favorite adhesives.

  27. Pat Castillo says:

Because of you, I switched to the dot adhesive and I LOVE it! They do rub off easily when you want to reposition something and it’s so easy to change out the old cartridge and pop in the refill. And Glossy Accents–LOVE that, too! Thanks for the tip of tapping it on the table, too! I usually put a pin in it but still get air bubbles in it. Haven’t tried the matte adhesive…

Thanks for the chance to win! πŸ™‚

  28. GinaE says:

I Loooooove Glossy Accents!!!!!!!! I fixed a broken tea cup with it the other day……just amazing stuff! Really want to try the others you have recommended here. Thanks for the chance to win!!!

  29. Tina says:

I really enjoyed the video. I’ve been trying new adhesives and right now am using the ATG scotch adhesive . I also us Glossy accents for alot of the smaller pieces with my cricut cuts πŸ™‚

thanks for a chance to win!

  30. Jennifer, besides your amazing talent that you share with us, one of the things I most appreciate about you is telling us about your favorite products. We all spend too much hard earned money on our hobby so knowing if something is really good is so helpful.
I still snicker over your story of the lady who told you” you must save so much money making your own cards”! Toooo funny!
Thanks againf for a helpful video
    Susan

  31. Misty says:

love all of these, but usually stick to my ATG.

    tfs!

  32. Candy says:

Thank you! My fav is the liquid tombow, esp. the tiny tip…use it on my die cut letters. Love your blog.

  33. Catherine says:

I haven’t found a favorite yet. I have been using the Tombow which has been really good. I adored a temporary adhesive I was given.. some weird brand. I have yet to find refills for it. I’ll have to try some this to that.

  34. Charmaine says:

Glossy accents and my ATG gun get used for everything I craft.

    Charmaine

  35. Lya Lin says:

Liquid Glass from CTMH and Tombow Mono or Herma.

    Thank you.

  36. Barb in CA says:

My go-to adhesive is Glossy Accents. However, you’ve shown some I’ve never tried. I’d love to win the chance to try the new-to-me products. Thanks.

  37. Aprile says:

I am picky about my adhesive, too! I use my ATG for most things. Really love the glossy accents. My favorite pop dot is from Stampin Up, but I do like the ek success for thicker dots. Lots of times I just put one dot on top of the other for a thicker foam. Thanks for offer this give away! I would use all of them!

  38. Cindy Groh says:

I use the AC This to That solid, EK Success and Glossy Accents for all my projects. Thanks for the chance to win.

  39. Chunyuan says:

Thanks for all the information. I kept wondering about all different kinds of adhesive. I love glossy accent. I also use two-sided tape, foam tape and zot 3D dot.

  40. Carolyn K says:

I love glossy accents and Tombow Mono adhesive permanents dots. I use Stampin Up dimensionals. Thanks for the info. I plan on trying them! Always on the look out for stuff that works better than I have!

  41. Amber L. says:

I use the dotto dots removable runner and mini glue dots. Thank you so much for the video. I’ve never thought to use glossy accents as an adhesive. I’ve been looking for a new dry glue runner and will have to try the American Crafts one.

  42. SandyT says:

Thank you for all this great info. I’m new at this and you have been extreamly helpful – Bless you and thanks again for sharing!

  43. Emma says:

I realy like Glossy Accents itΒ΄s transparent and I can glue my glitter and velvet whith it!

  44. peggy mcdevitt says:

My favorite adhiseve is golden gel medium. I use a small nylong type brush to apply or my fingertip. A small amount is wonderful. I use the medium hold that is thick and comes in a jar.

  45. Sandy says:

I just used my Glossy Accents this morning. Great stuff!

  46. Sinihilkka says:

Thanks for the recommendations Jen! These products look interesting πŸ™‚

  47. Kary says:

Hmm… I’ve not tried the Tombow adhesive you recommended nor the American Crafts foam adhesives. All adhesives are so expensive where I am, and I tend to use Glossy Accents on most projects. They last a long time and is pretty economical. I’ll have to check out some of the ones you mentioned. Thanks!

  48. Ruth S says:

Thanks for your great video Jennifer! It’s always useful to hear other crafters’ recommendations.
I’m a total nut for foam pads and my hubby still can’t work out why there are teeny squares of white backing paper following us aroiund the house πŸ˜‰
Thanks for the chance to win! Hugs, Ruth S

  49. Sam F says:

I really have liked using the pink ATG and Tombow Mono Adhesive glue for smaller areas. I also really love Glossy Accents!

  50. Connie F. says:

Glossy Accents is probably my favorite. I also like the TOMBO removable adhesive.
