I have recently discovered your blog and have “devoured” your videos. I have learned so much. Thank you for the videos. I can hardly wait to see these new videos! My tip: I wanted to apply glitter to the raised portions of embossing folders. I had seen a video recommending a brayer but I didn’t have one so my girlfriend suggested a rolling pin. I used one of the $2 rolling pins from Michael’s and it worked perfectly! Now I just need to have my husband design something that will hold the glue pad down while I roll the pin over it.

I have to say that when I saw the video, I also thought that we were getting all of the stamps, paper, etc. WITH the DVD. But when I saw the price of the video I realized that would not be the case.

  3. Laurie says:

I find that I almost always hit the edge of cutouts, layers, cards, etc with a bit of coordinating ink. Anymore, most things look naked without it.

  4. Kelley b says:

My craft tip is to use letters from alphabet sets to add texture to cards. V works great for grass! Thanks for the chance to win!

  5. Spike says:

Jennifer all your videos are fantastic! To see that you’ve put together a couple of sets is fabulous!
My crafty tip is to cut out all the flat pieces of clear acetate in all “clamshell” packaging to use in embossing, stamping and other crafty projects.
    Thanks so much!

Love all your work. These DVD are amazing. My tip today is when using the Martha Stewart new “punch all around the page” punches take your Copic marker and color the flat side of the top and bottom part of the punch. This makes it so much easier to use and to match up the magnetic fields for a correct punch. Thanks for the chance to win these super DVDs.

  7. K@ren says:

Tip: use a square or rectangle piece of thicker transparency and stamp on it using the Stamp-a-ma-jig and Staze On ink. Rotate it and use every corner. Place the stamped transparency with your stamp set storage for later use:)

  8. My crafty tip is to make a card with leftovers from making a layout. It is helping me do more cards.

Hi Jennifer, so very happy to hear that the videos are now in stock. Would love to win them. As for a crafting tip, one of main problems with this hobby of mine is storage space, so whenever I can make one product do many things for me I am all for it. Rather than buy many different colors of flowers, I’ve decided to go the route of all white flowers, no matter rather they are paper or silk, I can then stamp them, ink them or whatever and make them whatever color I need.

  10. Wow! Thanks for the DVDs! My favorite tip is to save time, is to pick a day, when you are feeling very inspired, and kit your next 10 pages or so, complete with a sketch. Then, on a non-inspiring day, you are ready to go!

  11. Therese says:

I love to cut apart rubber stamps and use them in unique ways. It certainly helps stretch those craft dollars too.

  12. Helen says:

I use my old Cricut mats for cutting mats on my table. When the mats aren’t sticky enough to hold the paper anymore, turn them over and use them for craft mats. The adhesive holds them in place on the table so there is no slippage. This is also great for kids’ crafts to help keep the table from getting paint and ink on it.

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  13. Eve says:

woohoo those cards you made for this DVD are all LUVLY!! My craft tip?? hmm i have many but recent one i like is to use Sakura Quick glue pen for adhereing the glitter. It adhere those glitters Very Well, and i have a cotrol over on tiny spots you want to glitter, have much more control than glitter glue, and looks Very Nice!

  14. Sinihilkka says:

Those videos look exciting! Thank you for Jennifer!

  15. Chris says:

I use Swiffer dust mop refill cloths to pick up glitter on my desk. They work great and are very economical.

  16. Tona says:

I would so love to win one of yor DVD’s. My tip is that when you’re making a layout save all the scraps to make a card when you’re done since you’ll have all the coordinating papers & cardstock out already.

  17. Robin says:

What a terrific give away – just imagining what it would be like to have you in my art room – my own private class with you. Too awesome for words.

  18. I need these DVD’s!!!! Hmm, a crafty tip? Always have baby wipes on hand. If you’re as messy as I am they come in handy : )

  19. stephanie says:

My craft tip — do a bunch of backgrounds at once on big sheets. Then you’ll have them for when inspiration strikes! Or you’re desperate.

  20. stephanie says:

will these retail in stores too?

  21. diana says:

I’m a fairly new cardmaker, so these DVDs would be well-loved and used. I don’t have a lot of ‘technique’ tips, but I do have a few tips that I’m learning the hard way. 😉

    1. Unpack shopping bags & put away new stuff right away.
    2. Keep a list with you of what you have already & what you need.
    3. Put a limit on your storage space & stop buying new storage systems.
    4. Purge your stash regularly & give away to someone else to enjoy & use.
    5. Try finishing a few projects before going shopping again!

If anybody has successfully recovered from a nasty case of ‘stash creep’ taking over their home, these, please let me know!! 😉

  22. Vicky says:

It’s so easy to make your own flowers from scraps! Just cut teardrop shapes and you’ve got petals!

  23. Nancy B says:

I’d love to win either of those DVDs. My crafy tip is to save Jennifer’s Tool Time columns out of old CK magazines in a notebook for a great resourse for ideas for cards. I’m so sad that Jennifer’s column isn’t going to be in that magazine anymore but understand that she is doing other great things like these wonderful CDs.

  24. Michelle Nelson says:

My tip is to use product packaging to stretch the value of your product purchase even further. I run clear packaging through my embossing folders and cut images from it to use as stencils (both the positive and the negative image). I also die cut light weight chipboard packaging and cover it with paper or emboss over it with metal. I can easily make much of what others might purchase. Thank you for chance to win one of the DVDs. I love the way you teach and the techniques you share.

  25. Debbie says:

Thanks for the chance to win! My crafty tip: when looking at other cards on-line save pictures of the ones that really appeal to you. That way when you are stuck for an idea for that ONE card you need to make in a hurry you have a quick reference on hand. I also save the link where the picture came from in case I have a question about the technique or a particular tool/supply used.

  26. donna calamari says:

The Dvds look fabulous. Thank you for the chance to win. My tip is to punch out (or die cut) a shape far enough from the edge of the paper, that the paper can still be used as an underlayer. Just cut the paper and cover-up that “hole” with a top layer.

  27. Roz says:

WOWZER – These look AMAZING. I want – no need – them all.

My craft tip – is watch Jennifer’s videos. Full of ideas, and how to’s.
Oh in case that tip doesn’t count – my tip is I keep sheets of alchol ink papers already done in my favorite color groups, so that when I need a quick flower, or butterfly, all I have to do is punch one out.

    Thanks Jennifer.

  28. Julie in Wintery MN says:

My tip is to make some generic cards that could be used for any occasion. I made some that just had some stamped circles and put a ribbon and a little bling and then left a space for a greeting. This one could be used for a birthday, get well or friendship. Also, make time to craft with a friend! One more, unrelated crafting tip, which is my all time favorite is to store you celery wrapped in aluminum foil, it will last for several weeks and stay crunchy! Jennifer, you always amaze me – thanks for sharing your talents. If I don’t win, I am purchasing both of these anyway 🙂

  29. Maryann W. says:

Cut your own ‘chipboard’ shapes and letters from empty tissue boxes or the solid portions of other packaging. Especially with alphabets, it means not ending up with all those letters you have to be overly-creative to use!

  30. Zena B. says:

What a great idea! I can never get to one of your classes because they are too far away…what could be better than having you right in my home? Thanks for the opportunity!

  31. Rosie Vega says:

Jennifer your tutorials are so instructional and inspiring , the opportunity to win a video would be amazing. Thanks for all u do… Kudos to you

  32. The only tip I could share is just do it. Stop finding excuses why one can’t craft or waiting util you have the money to buy that one specific item that will blow the door open on creativity. Use what you have and just get started. The follow up to that is lots of practice.

  33. Inks4fun says:

would love a chance to win.

My tip: I have sorted all embellishments by color. So in my Red drawer I have buttons, brads, small flowers, alphabet tiles etc. I may think I want a button for my card, but when I look in this drawer, I might find something else that is perfect for the card. Plus it as reduced my storage to 1 container for all red items.

  34. Emily says:

Wha!? Are you kidding … now that’s a great give away. I’ve had the pleasure of taking your classes and enjoyed them immensely! I have no doubt that your DVD’s are wonderful!

  35. How fabulous! I’d love to watch these!

My crafty tip is that you can control your Stickles better and get a thinner layer if you use the pointed q-tips that are made for putting on makeup.

  36. Ragnhild says:

I would love to win as i have jst been scrapbooking for a very short time.. I guess my scrapbooking tip would be to make the layout very simple, a huge photo or several similar smaller ones, just a little bit of embellisment, and one very special embelishment piece. For example a puzzle piece painted with crackle paint and some tread around it.

  37. chantille says:

Oh Jennifer, these DVD’s look so exciting. Had loved and learnt so much from all your Thinking Inking videos at 2 Peas and videos at Hero Arts so for me these are a must, simply can’t wait to get my hands on them.

  38. Neta says:

Having enjoyed taking a few of your classes, I am excited to think that I can watch you teach in my own home! My tip is to save store bought cards that I receive. There are often elements of these cards that I can cut and paste onto cards that I am making.

  39. Mindy says:

My favorite crafty tip is to always keep a piece or two of the blue painters tape stuck on my Big Shot. Works like a charm to pull little pieces of paper out of some dies that seem to like to hold onto my paper!

  40. naneruth says:

Great tips from all the girls! My tip is that I store my wood stamps in small 3 drawer plastic cases by theme. Because they end up 2 layers deep in there I use a sheet or two of copy paper that I lay in each drawer with the picture or verse on it so I know for sure it is in there. If you can’t see it on the top layer you know it is on the bottom.

  41. Iliana says:

I keep my pattern paper in 12 x12 storage bags by brand. After, I am done creating a page or card I put the scraps back in the bage for future use.

  42. Terri (blindstamper) says:

Thanks for the chance to win! One of the best things I did for my crafting was to buy on ott-lite. Good lighting makes a huge difference!

  43. Sally Brown says:

Well, my crafty tip came from Shari. She suggested that you use colored pencils along with Copic markers for those of us who don’t want to but a ton of those pricey little guys!

  44. Dawn says:

    Congratulations Jennifer!
Oh how exciting- I am so thrilled for you. These look fab.
I have a quick tip- I have this LARGE container of scraps. I took out all the pieces that were 11 or 12 in length and anywhere from 1-3 inches wide and used all my favorite border punches to make some decorative scraps. I have used so many because they are already done.

  45. I’m sure I can’t share a tip that you don’t already know, but I like to spray water on my dye-inked up stamp before stamping to get a water-color feel! Thanks!

  46. Pam says:

It is not really a crafty tip but one rule that I follow…I clean up my space after each project. That way it doesn’t look like a hurricane hit my craft room. These DVD’s look wonderful.

  47. Linda from Sweden says:

My craft tip is dont think – just create.

  48. Sue D says:

My crafty tip is to use up scraps as you go–otherwise you end up with a big storage problem!!

  49. Melissa R. says:

Believe it or not, I have recycled the divider that came in a case of beer. It’s actually pretty sturdy chipboard that you can make into die cuts!

I’d love to win one of your DVDs! Thanks for another great giveaway!

  50. Penny says:

Jen, Thanks for the opportunity to win such a great prize. My tip comes from a shopping trip just today. I go on the website for my favorite crafting store (J’s)and make a wish list by using the shopping cart. I then print it and take it to the store with me only when the items are on sale and I have a coupon. Today I saved 40% on crafting supplies and 50% on home decor fabric, used another 20% coupon which was available on all purchases including sale items and they were giving back $10 in store cash for every $50 spent.I bought all the fabric to redecorate my bedroom and many items on my wish list and saved over $300. I also have $60 in super saver cash cards to take back to the store to spend next week. I have found that I really only buy what I love this way because you would be surprised what comes off that list if you have to pay full price for it. Penny
