Hmmm. A crafty tip? I keep wet wipes that are not super dirty and dry them so I can dry my work surface more quickly after wiping it down. Also, I like to stick white office labels to my ink pad and then ink them so it’s clear what color the ink is.

A peg board is a wonderful, low cost, easily customizable option for storage in a craft room.

Looking forward to the DVDs, I need all the help I can get. As my favorite crafty tip… use copic markers to color white pearls when a particular color of pearl is not available.

Thanks for sharing your know-how with us, Jennifer. My tip is this: If you want to experiment with new techniques try ATCs. They are small, do not require a lot of product and you won’t feel bad about discarding them if you’re not happy with the results. I keep them as a reference when I need to remind myself of techniques I haven’t used in a while or for getting the creative juices flowing.

Wow, what a great opportunity to win! My crafty tip is: when wrapping presents (boxes or bags) and you run out of tissue paper. Take card stock, run it through the shredder, crumple up the strips and use it to fill you boxes and bags. Also works great for baskets as filler/grass!

  9. Gina says:

A lump of Blu Tac on the end of a pencil works a treat or picking up those tiny beads etc your fingers can’t manage (and so much more hygienic than licking your finger lol). I’d love to win one of these DVD’s please. Love your videos.

  10. Shalvi says:

Wow! Thanks for the chance to win these videos.
My tip is this: after you have die cut something out of cardstock, keep that leftover negative shape and use it either as a stencil, or you can use that outside edge to cut out a tag for your next card. This way I almost never throw away any cardstock.

I have several crafty secrets to share. The first is to always keep your studio organized. There is nothing worse than to run into your studio to make a needed card and you have to dig out your work space before you can begin.

My second crafty secret is to make 2 of each card you create. You can save one for later when you are rushed. Don’t have enough supplies for a second card? Make an ATC!

I love watching the videos online it is like having a private lesson. I would LOVE to win one of the DVD’s.

My tip is: Keep the short bits of ribbon you trim off after making bows etc and use 2 little pieces as little embellishments tucked behind photo mats with 1/4 or 1/2 inch sticking out and trimmed at an angle or stapled to the top of a tag etc. Amazing what a great effect these little bits can have.

  13. My crafty tip is to use a wooden block such as the back of a rubber stamp to flatten the prongs on the back of brads. It makes the layer of card stock the brad is on much flatter! Would love to win one of your DVDs. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  14. Gina says:

Thanks for the chance to win! My craft tip is to re-use bubble wrap on cards and layouts. You can use the clear type for clouds or the pink type to cut or punch out heart shapes. It gives an added dimension to your creativity!

  15. Susan Disharoon says:

My crafty tip would be to win these dvds because I need the instruction. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  16. Laura K says:

    Wow. SO many tips. Grate.

Thanks for the chance to win those DVDs. I love your videos, and for classes ………hm when do you come in Germany?

My tip: try to use all your stamps. I buy sets of stamps, but I never used all the stamp from one set. So I challenge my self to use the other stamps which, some how, are not so interesting or I have no idea how to use. The results are amazing. Just try it.

  17. Kathy P says:

Just lover watching the videos. Just like a private lesson.
My tip is: when stamping, stamp several images, die cut shapes and make up several card kits. That way when you need a card in a hurry or you go craft at a friends house you can just pick out a kit and you are ready to quickly make up the card and just add embellishments.

  22. Cristina M. says:

Hiya! Thanks for the opportunity to win one of these. I´ve been dying to go to one of your classes, but it is a bit difficult as I live in Spain 🙁
Anyway, my crafty tip would be to use different scissors for paper, ribbon and sticky stuff, that way your scissors would stay sharp longer and cut perfectly;)

  23. Marijke Maris says:

When coloring a background, make a few extra to have on hand for future cards. Thanks for the change to win these yummy DVD’s. I learned a lot of techniques from you. You are an awesome teacher!

  24. Rachana says:

hey jennifer..thanks for giving a chance to win this lovely candy…id so love to learn different techniques..Im from India and card making here is at a very nascent stage so we do not have much supplies but that doesnt stop me…My crafty tip is to use wedding invitations leftovers as patterned papers, i started embossing keeping metal coins below the paper and then going over it with a rolling pin used to make breads…until i got my cuttlebug…I also use a lot of packaging to get corrugated cardboard..

  25. Alexandra says:

Thank You for the chance to win. Since I live in the UK I am not able to attend your classes…
My crafty tip is to use left over scraps of card and paper that might get thrown away for embellishments. Punch out shapes, flowers are good, and make them into embellies for your projects and next time you need something it’s already there to use!

  26. linda beyer says:

my tip is: when cutting dies cut more then you need at the time. then they will be ready to use when ever you need them.

then store them neatly in envelopes.
and lable the envelope and store them
m in a box. label that too.

i did not do this and now am finding them all over. i wish i had been better organized in the past.

  27. Char-D says:

I save all of my scraps from any acid free paper and make my own paper out of it. This way I can have the look of handmade paper that is acid free.

  28. Those DVDs look awesome! Well done Jennifer! My tip is to always stamp at least two of each image that you are colouring and colour both at the same time. This saves time if you need to duplicate a card or need to put one together in a hurry.

Thank you for the chance to win! My crafty tip is when making a card I keep one of those little plastic bins next to me to put my scraps in. It helps keep my small area neater.

  30. Louise says:

Great videos, my tip is I always make a minimum of 2 backgrounds for each card I make, it’s always nice to have a spare

  31. Shirley says:

My crafty tip, for me is organization…keep my work area neat and cleared off of all items not in use. Take out all materials I think I need for a project and put up afterwards. Love the peek preview of your DVD’s and would love to win one.

  32. Kathy Eddy says:

Wow, these are going to be awesome.

  33. Sandi M says:

My crafty tip is if it can’t be spied with my little eye then it needs to be in something with a LABEL! I can find things quickly when it’s in a container, drawer etc that states the kind of supply in there. The moment I place an item where it doesn’t belong or forget to place an item, it goes to a long lost abyss and I end up spending way too much time trying to find that now needed supply! Your tutorials are awesome 🙂 I’m so glad that there are now DVD’s we can buy.

  34. DebbieKissel says:

I love your blog and visit it daily! My crafty tip is to be organized and to continue to organize as you craft your way through your world. My latest is to put my scraps in color families in an easy to grab location and I am excited to use more and more of those scraps. Once a year, I go through all the scraps and my paper stash (which is LARGE) and re-organize them, put in the Kid Craft box or toss them. This allows me to reaquaint myself with things I have, stay neat (as neat as one can be) and use my purchases.

  35. Margaret K. says:

What a wonderful idea making DVD’s! I use my die cuts to make flowers from all sorts of stuff( felt, craft foam, fabric, twisted paper ribbon, etc.). Thanks for the giveaway Hero Arts and Jennifer for the hard work in making them. Margaret K.

  36. Tinkerbeth says:

Oh my goodness! I will be so excited if I win! I love to watch your videos!! They are already on my “must have” list for craft purchases! Thank you for making them, and thank you so much for the generous chance to win!!

  37. Christine says:

These DVDs look amazing. Thanks for the chance to win. Love everything you do!

  38. Tinkerbeth says:

Oops! My crafty tip is to watch every Jennifer McGuire video that you can:). One other: Buy or print out the Copic Marker Color flyer, and use your markers to color over the name of the color every time you add a new marker to your collection. When you have the chance to buy new markers, you won’t duplicate colors, and you’ll be able to choose colors that will blend well together, and work with what you already own.

  39. c@rol w says:

I’d love to win a DVD! I have a CRAFTY WARNING: I discovered that Copic markers will eat through embossing powder. Who knew?

  40. tammy b says:

I can’t wait to watch these DVDs! My tip is to not give up after your first try at something new. If it doesn’t look exactly the way you thought it would at first, don’t be afraid to try it again. It just may end up being your new favorite technique!

  41. Deepa says:

Since I am pregnant with my second right now, there is no way I can travel to your classes so one of these videos would definitely help me.
My crafty tip is that I use all the junk envelopes that come in the mail that have cool backgrounds. I use distress ink on them, dry emboss them & they look lovely.
    Thanks for the giveaways.

  42. Chris G says:

Jennifer — I love your videos and can’t wait to see the next. It would be such a thrill to have one of these in my current library. Thanks for the opportunity. Keep inspiring all of us…..

  43. Heidi says:

It’s my birthday tomorrow januari 22th.
    Have a great weekend everyone.

  44. Carol Miller says:

I loved your Thinking Inking Classes & recomended them to a friend who’s new to stamping. She’s hooked by the way. Favorite tip; I keep a basket near me and as I’m working I put stickers and paper there when I’m done. Then I just take the basket & return the product to their storage areas. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  45. Marie Phillips says:

Congrats, Jennifer! You are so entitled to be proud and excited! I can’t wait to get my copies!!

  46. jennifer gordon says:

HI, Jennifer! My best tip is to assign and label a color to hanging file folders and store all my paper scraps by color. When making cards or scrapbook pages it is so nice to be able to go straight to the “red” file and flip through the shades of red to find just what i need. Most of the time i can find something just perfect that i already have!

  47. {vicki} says:

    I love your videos/

My tip—don’t buy on impulse—think before buying—it could save you some money

  48. Chrissie T. says:

Jennifer, I love the DVD idea! My crafty tip is to use the Fiskars finger scissors to cut out stamped images. Up until about 2 weeks ago, I was using scissors or an x-acto knife. Wow – I am IN LOVE with the finger scissors – they make my life so much easier. Every stamper should have a pair!!! Thanks for the daily inspiration you give and I’m loving the Hero Hues stuff!!!!

  49. Jill Foster says:

Just can’t wait to get my hands on these awesome dvd’s!!! The peeks look so charming and colorful! Hhmmm… I think I learn all of my tips from you…how about an easy way to store glossy accents so it doesn’t clog? I leave a small stick pin right in the nozzle of mine at all times.

  50. Patricia Cunningham says:

Wow…love your videos and all your work! Thanks for the opportunity to win.
