Well, I can't believe it, but I won't be doing handmade teacher gifts this year. I had a fab idea (gift wrap and handmade unique bows, tags, etc.), but with the sick household (we all got the stomach bug), it just didn't happen. I plan to make them something special in the new year. Bummer!

Anyway… off to bed early. Have a good night…

  1. Hope you & the family are feeling better soon! Don’t worry about the teacher gifts…this way they will have something to look forward to in 2011 🙂

  2. I hope you and your family feel better soon! Getting sick is always inconvenient
but it does remind us to slow down and care for ourselves a little better. I am
sure the teachers will be happy to receive your handmade goodies at any time of
    the year.

  3. awwwwwwww man! the dreaded tummy bug! ughhhhhhhhh! lots of fluids with sugar! and back to bed you go! ty for the links xo

  4. I hear ya with the stomach thing, Jen! Four days after Thanksgiving, we got news that my husband’s grandfather passed away. So it was hop in the car and drive to IA and MN for a funeral, and during the road trip I got the stomach flu! The holidays wipe out your energy anyway, but adding illness to the mix really slows things down! This is the first year in many that we won’t be sending out Christmas cards!
I hope you and your family are up and running again soon! Take care and thanks for still blogging even during all the chaos and sickness- your posts keep me going! 🙂

  5. Jennifer!!
Hope you all feel better soon, we all got sick the day after THANKSGIVING!! =(
It was horrible, so I feel your pain, everyone but my dad got sick too
    (18 of us altogether)
Anyway, everyone will understand and you will out do yourself I’m sure in the new year!! Thanks for the AWESOME post though, it sure is fun to see what you have picked for us to see!! It like PRESENT all in its self!! THANKS AGAIN< FEEL BETTER SOON and TRY to get some REST!! =)

  6. Thanks for all the awesome inspirational links. I love Jill and Mariana’s work!

Hope you feel better soon. Last night I about had a panic attack when I realized my daughter’s last day of preschool was today (had planned to bake cookies for her teachers in fun scrappy packaging) and I had completely forgotten! Somehow it snuck up on me so I woke up unusually “early” and baked up a storm this morning. Luckily I had my other daughter’s gifts done last week which were 100% inspired by you–I made her two teacher’s a box of notecards “From the desk of Mrs.” that you got me thinking about in August. Thanks for the idea–They were a huge hit! 🙂

  7. Hi Sorry to hear you are sick its your bodies way of telling you to take it easy with the xmas rush and all the work you have been doing time to rest take care love your cards and thanks for the many ideas

  8. Great links, Jennifer! I do hope you`re all feeling better soon. Take it easy. Just do what you have to do and let the rest fall to the side. Hugs.

  9. Thanks for the great links Jennifer, I hope your family is feeling better soon. I would like to take this moment to say thank you for all the great inspiration over the past year, and I would like to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas and all the best for 2011.

  10. Hope you feel completely better soon–don’t feel bad about the non handmade gifts- I just went and bought cards for people at work!!! LOL! 🙂 Thanks for the link to my blog–you made my day. It’s been such a treat featuring Tami this week- isn’t she amazing? Sending HUGS!

  11. Just take time now and recover, you give so much everyday it takes alot from a body. Hope all in family feel better soon! Merry Christmas to you

  12. Oh no!! Hope you all get better soon!! It’s ok to not do too much during this season, it’s way too much stress on everyone! I normally wait til the end of the school year to make something a bit nicer for the teachers and school bus drivers.

  13. Great links. Well, maybe not the 2 Peas. I don’t need any more help with the enabling!

Hope you and the family get better soon. Nothing worse than being sick over Christmas.

  14. I hope you are all feeling better soon!!

Thanks for adding into your post that you
aren’t making teacher gifts. I was up at
midnight last night working on some for
my son when I read that…we’ve been
sick a bunch too so it gave me the freedom
to decide NOT to make those last dozen
Christmas cards that I’ve not gotten to!

  15. Love the weekend links…those jokes for kids are too funny! Hope everyone is feeling better REAL soon…being sick is icky!
