Kay’s Blog Week Takeover – Day 1
Hi everyone!
This is Kay and I’m kicking off "Kay’s Blog Week Takeave" with this new post. This has been a fun summer so far. Making friends, teaching classes – I taught a class a Stamp Your Art Out and I have one coming up at Simply Scrapbooks. Another good thing? Theater camp! I love acting.
I thought I would share a card that I came up with for my upcoming class at Simply Scrapbooks. (Keep reading after the card for my commentary…)
Supplies: Tim Holtz die cut; Latte Hero Hues Ink; Black embossing powder; Memento’s markers; White pen; Twine; Hero Arts stamps (definition, flower, big hugs); Versamark
The card shape is a die-cut. I actually had no idea how to use this until I saw Mum do it at her class last week and asked her how to do that. The card is made up of two pieces of paper cut in the same die cut. The back piece has a fold at the top to open the card with. The text stamp is by Hero Arts, and I stamped it in a basic brown ink. I used the same brown ink to ink the border of the card.
The flower itself is going to seem ridiculously complicated to make, but it’s not. I started with stamping the flower image in VersaMark to plain white paper. Then I embossed the image in black embossing powder, and colored it in with purple markers. After I was done, I accented it with white dots, applied three pop-dots to the back, and stuck it to the card. Done!
Oh, and Kay’s Daily Words Of Wisdom: If you aren’t smiling, think of dancing bananas.
See you tomorrow,
Kay
And… a quick note from Jennifer…
