My sister and I are taking Mom to the Bower’s Museum (we’re in Southern California) to check out their exhibit about the Silk Road, and then to a late brunch at the museum’s restaurant (is it still technically brunch if it’s not between breakfast and lunch?). We got her a beautiful bouquet of all different colored roses and lilies and had them delivered, and of course I’ll be making her a card, too! Might just have to try this resist technique on it … Great tutorial video, by the way!

    Happy Mother’s Day!

My sons will call me – they’re both over 3,000 miles away. Then my husband and I will have a quiet day – he’ll cook breakfast and grill dinner. The embossing folders are great – thanks for a chance to win. Happy Mother’s Day everyone!

  3. Jo says:

For Mother’s Day I’m hoping that my hubby will cook dinner without me asking what I want to eat. *lol* During the day, we’re hanging out with my family and keeping it low key. 🙂

Those folders would be wonderful to win!
My plan for Mothers Day is to go out to a restaurant with my husband and daughters.

  6. I don’t know exactly what we are doing but usually, we do something very kid friendly like go to a park or the zoo. Then the boys take me out for Mexican food in the evening.

My plans for the weekend include a trip (long overdue) to our Local Stamp Store for some new yummy goodness, and a trip to our local farmers market to pick out some new perennials for my garden. On Sunday, my husband is grilling some steaks and taking care of dinner, while I spend the afternoon stamping and watching movies! I’m excited! Thanks for the chance to win – and Happy Mother’s Day to you!

my mother is in her late 80s and disabled, so we don’t go out. i always make her a card and get flowers. i take her shopping and out to eat whenever she feels well enough throughout the year, as i retired to be her live-in caretaker so she doesn’t have to go to a retirement home.

Embossing folders=great cards! love them tons! For Mother’s Day I will spend a little bit of quiet time remembering both my own wonderful mom gone too young and my sweet, sweet mother in law. Then, because my husband is out of the country on business and my oldest is at college studying for finals, I will spend a quiet day with my 15 and 16 year olds, going for a hike, grilling out, walking the dogs and maybe, in the evening, watching a nice movie-just the three of us. when my husband and oldest are both home we plan to spend a “family” day celebrating both mother and father’s day-can’t wait!

  11. Karen G (BC) says:

My Mother’s Day plans include spending time with my family after church, and having a nice dinner. The really neat thing is the next day I get to see my oldest child, who’s left the house 🙂

  12. Jennifer says:

My Mom’s day plans will unravel as the day comes 🙂 They will make sure I will not have to cook or clean 🙂 And my daughter and I are planning a scrapmania together!

For this mothers day my teenage daughter is taking me out to the movies. She has been so stressed out due to all the exams she has had in all her classes. I worry about her but know that all her hard work is going to pay off in a year when she heads out to college, (hopefully with a scholarship).
She needs to get out even more than I do. Not only has she been doing well in school (ranked #1 in her junior class!!) but she has been taking care of me since Dec when I had spine surgery. She does all my heavy lifting and watches me like a hawk making sure I don’t over do it. I love her to death and can’t wait to spend the afternoon with her.
As for the sizzix embossing folders. I have a few of them and love them! They are wonderful because they cover the whole card. I use them often.
Happy Mothers Day and Happy Spring!

  14. KatieH says:

I will be seeing my Mum on Sunday, and as long as I don’t have to cook Sunday night it will be a good day!

Love the look of these embossing folders, I haven’t tried any yet.

  15. SueB says:

My family lives from 1,000 to 2,500 miles away so my husband tries to make the best of the day by taking me to Church and then out to dinner – my choice.

  16. Nicole S says:

Every year for Mothers day my mom and I go to Las Vegas together. We get to spend a week having a great time soaking up some sun, walking the strip, seeing some shows, gambling and of course enjoying some great food.

    HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

Just took home made carrot cake out of the oven, going to 2 birthday parties this weekend and the adults requested my carrot cake as a grown up treat, love any excuse to bake. My only daughter is working on Sunday, so I wont see her until later in the evening.
Pssss, would rather be home in my play room . I mean it is my day isn’t it?

  20. allison says:

For Mother’s Day, we are taking both sets of parents to brunch. Later in the afternoon, I’m sending my mom to a day spa to get a hot stone massage. (My MIL does not like massages, so we aren’t sending her). I hope to have some “mom” time of my own with my husband and 22 mo. old son.

  21. Donelda says:

I know that my sweet husband and son are planning to make me my favorite breakfast – eggs benedict!! But after that I have no clue if there are plans or not. I am kinda hoping to get in some stamping time since I haven’t gotten to do much of that these days.

  22. Claude says:

Well, I fully expected to get to sleep in an spend a relaxed day with my family, but my father-in-law entered the hospital today because of a nasty fall… He’s bruise beyond belief an completely confused. I doubt I’ll have the stress-free day I expected.
    I wish you a happy Mother’s day!

    Happy Mother’s Day Jennifer.

No real plans yet, hubby is on a Boy Scout campout and will be home on Sunday afternoon. Wanna bet he forgets? He will be in “Boy Scout mode” and not Mom’s Day, which I am used to. I know two of my sons will be here at some point during the day. GD will also be here Sat and Sun. I figure her and I will do ‘Girl Stuff’ I’m thinking it’s time for our toes to get painted. We also have flowers to plant. It will be a good day.

  25. Fiona Shultz says:

Same thing we did last year as it turns out 🙂 Off to church and serving in the creche department – no one will tell me anything else happening – maybe it’s a surprise!

  26. GinnaG says:

If the weather hold out we are going to grill some steaks and just hang out. Grilling is my favorite….because my husband it the cook NOT ME!!!!!!

No Mom on duty that day. HOORAY!

Hi – this Sunday is my first Mother’s Day to my little girl who will be 1 at the end of this month! I am looking forward to it. We have church in the morning and its a kid led service, so I am looking forward to that (plus it will allow my husband, the pastor, to sit with me! Double woo hoo!!). Then I think we will just hang out at home all afternoon. Probably finishing it off with take out and a cupcake! Happy Mother’s Day Jennifer!

  29. JennyW says:

I will call my mom, and am imagining a homemade card from my kids. My husband will cook…but I have to figure out what still:) We are also going to try to see my mother-in-law this weekend. She has advanced Alzheimer’s and doesn’t know who we are…but she knows we love her and that she loves us.

  30. Nancy W says:

The Mother’s Day will be a sad day for my family. Unfortunately, my dad just passed away last week and we are planning for his memorial. My siblings are arriving and we will spend a bit of quiet time with her.

My son lives 7 hours away so I won’t see him Sunday. But we’ll see him next month, so my Sunday will be very low key. My husband’s Mother is 92 so I’m sure we’ll spend the day with her….she’s our Blessing!!!

  42. My daughter just called me a bit ago and told me that she and her boyfriend want to take me out to dinner on Sunday for Mom’s Day, so I guess we will be spending the time with them. We will probably be stopping by to see my Mom too. She will be going out with my brother and sis in law on Sunday, so I’ll be taking her out another day.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
