Video (again) and a giveaway (again)

Hi!

Quick post tonight – I have a bad allergy headache.  Wowsers.

First, we have two winners of the Jolees goodies: Stacy M and Tanya.  I will email you both.

Oh, I must mention before i forget.  Want to see an amazing layout?  Click HERE.  Wow!  Robyn is incredible.

Next, I have a video over on 2peas.  It shows how I used the new die cutting machine, the Slice (from Making Memories) to create a paper ornament.  If you are curious about the Slice, it shows it in use.  If you don’t have one, you can also watch it to learn how to create a paper ornament, but you could instead use punched shapes or other die cuts. 🙂  Click HERE for all the info on the project.

So, the giveaway I have today happens to be one of my favorite BasicGrey stamp sets.  Why I am giving it away?  I accidently bought two.  Der.  🙂  But my ditziness is your gain.  Hee.   Just leave a comment on this post by 11:59pmEDT on Sunday telling me your most common used thing for letters (stickers, chipboard, die cut, rub-on, stamps, etc).  I will pick a winner of this great BasicGrey stamp set…

Hi Jennifer, I hope that you feel better! I use a lot of die cuts, but I have just discovered American Crafts stickers.

  2. Evelyn says:

I use a lot of stickers for letters since I don’t have a die-cutting machine. Sometimes I do use rub-ons but more than likely I will feel lazy and just grab the stickers.

  3. B. Acevedo says:

It used to be stamps, but lately I’m using my Cricut a lot. I still love both, though.

  4. Pick me, pick me, pick meeeeee!!! Please ;o) Can’t find that stamp over here in The Netherlands. Just picked up the matching Basic Grey 6×6″ Paperstack today due to your enabling! I often use my Hero Arts stamps for that, but also fell in love with the glossy Thickers you showed on a previous message. I’m waiting for these to come in, but unfortunately they’re in backorder. Thanks for all the great ideas and things you share with us!!! You are really amazing!

  5. Alyssa says:

I love my Cuttlebug for die cuts; foam thickers are great too! Thanks for the chance! :o) lyss

  6. CathyR says:

My favorite letters for layouts are AC Thickers and stickers. For cards I like to use stamps.

  7. Bridget N. says:

Probably Cricut because for all of the stickers I have, they are never the right shade, size, style, etc., for the page/spread I am working on at the moment!!

  8. Amy Y says:

Stickers for me, especially if you count AC Thickers!

  9. faith says:

Hope you are feeling better. I use a lot of rub-on and chipboard letters. But, lately have been giving my Cricut and Sizzix a real workout. And, with the deep cut blade, I have been making my own chipboard letters and shapes. The butterfly would be awesome for layout of my granddaughter. She is into Princess’ and butterflies at the ripe old age of 3!

  10. michelle says:

I’m a stamp girl, because even after you’ve used them…you still have them. I love nonconsumable scrapping!

  11. Kelly says:

Lately, it’s been stickers or thickers!

  12. Wow, I’m all over the map. I probably use stickers, chipboard, and stamps about evenly. I don’t use die cuts very often.

  19. Helen says:

my favorite things for writing is stamps and I embellish with handwriting. Everyone says I have a Victorian handwriting style. My mother had a wonderful scrpit and she practiced everyday until she died at 90 yrs. old. I watched her and practiced with her for many years.

  20. Louise says:

For titles, I tend to use letter stickers. When I buy a sheet or several, I immediately cut the stickers apart leaving them on their backing and put all my “a’s” in their own little plastic drawer, and the “b’s” in theirs and so on. I have an ACE hardware plastic drawer case that is meant to be used for screws and nails and such. I have one compartment for each letter, numbers and punctuation. All of my letter sheets are cut up (a huge job) so now all my titles are a mix-and-match of whatever letter I find. If I need a “K” for example, I just open my “K” drawer and hunt around. (The only stickers that don’t work too well are Thickers because they easily fall off their backing – esp the chipboard and vinyl ones, not the felt ones as much!) I developed this system after I found that I never seemed to have the right letters on any one sheet. It works for me and I love the creativity of mixing it up. It is a HUGE job to cut up all the sticker sheets but I find I reach for them and actually use them more than before. If I don’t use stickers, I tend to use clear stamps and spell out my titles.

Would love me a little BG butterfly!!

I’m lovin’ this ornament – gotta make a bunch! In answer to your question, I tend to use stickers and stamps in equal measure. The deciding factor seems to be time – when I have time to line up the stamps ‘just so’, I love ’em. When I’m in a rush, I grab the stickers.
