I’m back!

Allergies got the best of me.  And then I took too much medicine and ended up with a stomach ache yesterday.  Opps. My wonderful sofa and I were best friends and inseparable yesterday. But today is much better!

Let's see…

You still have time to enter to win that great BasicGrey stamp set – look HERE.

And random.org said #4 was the winner of the Autumn Leaves stamp set – that's Jenny!  I will email you.

I got a few emails asking if I was still going to share my scraproom.  Yes, I am.  Sorry.  It is just a big project to get that video and all the pictures together – but I am almost done.  I really hope to finish and share this week.  Here is a little peek into one corner of my room…

Shot 1

(ETA: I will share details on the cabinets, boxes, etc. when I share the video and more photos.)

How about a share, too.  This is an oldie that I did for Autumn Leaves, but it wasn't used.  Thought I should do something with it. :)  It is a box covered with ribbon and rub-ons – to keep my color swatch ideas in.  (I am really bad at color combos.  Oh, and do you like how Roxie put her ball in the picture?  Stinker.)

BTW… if you struggle with colors like me, this is a great site: Kuler.  Leslie Lightfoot (who is incredible with color) introduced me to it long ago and I lovey it. :)  It is really fun to use.  I was wondering – do any of you have other great sources for color ideas?

So, I will have another giveaway tomorrow – a fun stamp set.  Gonna head out now – my fabulous in-laws are here and we have lots to catch up on!

Hugs!

  1. Wow Jennifer! The crafting room is awesome, the color swatch box is awesome, and what a generous papercrafter you are to give away so much blog candy. You are so awesome! Your blog is on my daily favorites list, and also on my favorite blogs list that I have on my blog. Keep up the ideas and fun.

  2. Ms. McGuire! Love the scrap space! Do tell what cabinets those are that are holding your papers, and what is on top in such neat and orderly rows?? I think I want to do my room like this!

  3. Oh, love the sneak peak!!! I’ve used that website before, really cool. I recently updated part of my room with an Ikea Expedit on top of small cabinets and painted the walls turqoise. Its on my last blog entry if you want to see. also put some of my organization ideas there too.
Can’t wait to see the rest!

  4. Seriously Jennifer…..O-M-G! It’s like angels sighing. What an awesome room! Nothing comparing to my lil den. I do all my scrapping in the kitchen dinning room. Im just sighing at this moment…… i really like your room. Can’t wait to see close peaks of it!

  5. What a YUMMY looking room. It’s so different from the last time you posted it (year’s ago on peas). I love your color scheme for your room. I am a the picking a color phase (it’s so hard) but this site:

    http://www.colorcombos.com/

it’s awesome!!!! I use it for work A LOT. Go to the color library and you will be in color heaven.

I love that they give you the codes so that if you see a color you really like you can go to photoshop and insert the code into the color code box and you get that color, then you just print. Easy peasy!!! 🙂

I am glad you are feeling better. 🙂

  6. Jennifer

Your room is so well put together just like your designs. I have a few questions but will wait until you have everything posted first. All I can say is it looks like a happy place to work.

I checked out Kuler. I even played around with a few things. Kind of all I can do tonight. I might have broke my foot today at my daughters birthday party. For sure I have twisted my ankle. Both my neighbors are doctors and one came over to check my foot out and write for meds. I have the first appointment in the morning to get x-rays and if need be set. Lucky me accident prone.

I use a color swatch book by World Win called “Color Mates Coordinator” and a good old color wheel. It tell you the truth I kind of look at ribbon or different blogs for ideas too. Thanks for turning me on to Kuler. Now I have some extra time to read I will.

Have a great week! I am happy you are feeling much better.

  7. Hi! I’m green with envy with your room! It’s so awesome!

I also have problem with color combos that’s why I was so glad I when I stumbled upon an entry in Scrapbook Update – http://www.scrapbookupdate.com/scrapnancy/2008/10/generate-a-colo.html. It’s called Pallete Generator from Big Huge Labs. Check it out here http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/colors.php. It’s so cool – just upload a picture you are going to scrap and it generates color combinations for you based on the color of the photo! =D

  8. Glad to hear you’re feeling better. I’ll be sending your package soon!! Keep an eye out for it by the end of the week. Also LOVE your corner so far. I can’t wait to see the rest. I need to really finish mine. I have a great spavce just need to finish painting it. UGH!! Did you wanna come over to help? LOL!!

  9. Cant wait to see more of your room! As for colour ideas, I go to my childrens closet. Some T-shirts and dresses have beautiful colour combos and I use them as inspiration for my cards and LOs.

  10. I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better. Just have to say I’m already drooling over just the corner of your SB room…can’t wait to see the whole area. Awesome space! Take care 😀

  11. You have problems with combining colors? Ha, what a joke! I have a link for Stampin’ Up combos: http://www.scraptitude.com/colorcombo

maybe that’s helpful? And your space looks stunning! Makes me want to reorganise it over here too, well actually not REorganise. Organise would be OK too LOL. Still hoping to get picked for the BG butterfly, keep my fingers crossed!

  12. your craft space is massive – sweet! regarding colour combos, i have been really enjoying all the stampin up colour combo websites out there (aside from kristina werner’s great ideas, which i assume you know?) there are a bunch of places with colour combos for the su colours which can then be mapped to other brands if that whats in the cupboard.

  13. I’m turning green. love the room. when i FINALLY buy my own home i can’t wait to dedicate a whole room to my art rather then it taking up an ever growing corner in the lounge room. and i do love a bit of organisation. lol. you can never have too many boxes.

Thank you so much for introducing me to that web page. i’m always struggling with colour combos and usually resort back to the tried and true but this has given me some great ideas. Can’t thank you enough. Hope the allergies get better.

  14. Your room looks awesome. Can’t wait to see the rest of it. Thanks for the link to Kuler. It’s going to be so helpful!

  15. That’s just a corner of your room?!! Wow! Can’t wait to see more, although it will probably cause some serious problems with ‘coveting your neighbour’s scraproom’! Glad to hear you are feeling better. Had a quick look at Kuler – thanks for the link, it looks great.

  16. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I love your blog and finally got around to trying the slider card. It worked great and thanks for sharing.
Your craft space is so neat and tidy, I wish I could get mine that tidy!!
Hope you have a good day.

  17. I thought you were just trying to figure out a good day to have us all over for an in person tour. 😉 Ha! Your space is beautiful and I can’t wait to see the rest of it! Love the colour swatch idea. Brilliant! I often get combo ideas from people’s blogs, fabrics, ads, etc. Enjoy your time with your in-laws. 🙂

  18. I love your scrapbook room Jennifer. It must have taken you weeks to put those Ikea boxes together. I have five of them and it took me a few days. I’m interested to know how you painted them. Did you use spraypaint?

  19. Your peek is WOW. Can’t wait to see the rest.
Feel better, I was allergy related miserable over the weekend too.
    Hugs to you.

  20. I really like the book “The Art of Color”. It’s so inspiring and uses really great real world examples of color combinations.

  21. I LOVE your scrap room! I must know where you got that quote for your wall…..I
need something like that for my wall!

I like to look through magazines –fashion and home for color ideas!

  22. Love, love, love the colors in your scrap room. Wow, it’s so neat. Must be a large room, too. Glad to hear you are feeling better, too. I completely understand about allergies. They can be such a nuisance at times! I use a color wheel and also a book where I keep color swatches like Lisa on HA mentioned a long time ago. I take pictures of nature, clip out magazine pages, etc. to put in the book. I also go to the site you mentioned in your post. Every once in a while I try to stretch myself with colors I don’t normally use. Thanks for all the goodies, again!
    Hugs.

  23. Love the sneak peak and can’t wait to see the rest.
I don’t have any cool sites for color inspiration, but I get ideas from the paint fan decks. As an Architect I have lots of paint fan decks to browse through. I especially love when the paint sales reps. come in with color forcast fan decks. I have a lot of fun pulling paint samples and coming up with color combos. I also get lots of ideas from the wallcovering samples. The problem I have is finding the scrapbook papers in the same colors.

  24. beeuutiful…sigh. little green with envy here, but I’m not a professional, so I’ll try to be happy for you! jk. It’s sooo nice and ever so neat. can’t wait to see more. tutorial on star was great.

  25. Hi Jennifer- Love your blog! Thank you for the daily inspiration. I was wondering if you used Heidi Swapp’s masks? and if so, how do you sore them? Thanks for the help.

  26. I am in love with your scrap room! O M G! It’s just perfect! I’m green with envy now. 😉 The Kuler site is totally awesome! I can’t wait to use some of the color combos on there. Thanks so much!!!

    Jackie S.

  27. Wow!! I can’t wait to see the rest! Maybe one of these days I can have my own scraproom 😉 BTW, I love the quote on the wall. TFS
