How-To Video: Stamping and Dry Embossing Vellum

First: Good news!  Finally got power back.  Now I just need to go to the grocery store to fill my 100% empty frig. 🙂

I am catching up on email and computer work while watching my new (and slightly twisted) addition to the show Dexter.  Wow.  It is so good.

But I thought I would link you up to a few things in the meantime.

First, HERE is a video I did for twopeasinabucket.com on stamping and dry embossing on vellum.  Click HERE if you want high quality – just click on "watch in high quality" directly below the video.

Speaking of holiday cards, here are some more great projects:

  • You have GOT to go see Tia Bennett's cards HERE.  Take a close look – she uses stamps in creative ways.  She made the Hero Arts Big Owl into a tree trunk!
  • Looking for simple photo card templates?  I love love love THESE from Cherie Mask.
  • Robyn Werlich is just too good.  Look at these cutie cards HERE.
  • Oh, my… these are stinkin' cute: Kristina Werner's cards HERE.  She has too much talent! (Oh, and I met her a couple weeks ago.  She is tall and sweet, too.  Those three things should not be allowed to exist in one person: tall, sweet and talented. :)  She has it all.)
  • And Stacy Sattler's cutie felt cards HERE.  I love how she used the Hero Arts birds.

Well, I need to go snuggle with my husband (haven't seen him enough lately) and watch a serial killer on TV.  (Yes… if you haven't heard of Dexter, you need to read about it!)

Night!

  1. Jennifer, I am a long time reader of your blog, and this is my first comment. This video was just what I needed. I am making a sympathy card for my sister in law who lost her sister last week. My question is, what did you have underneath the vellum when you were embossing it? I usually use my glass thingy that lights up and turns but I have never embossed on vellum before.
    Thanks for the inspiration!
    Love and God bless,
    Shaun

  2. Yippie! Glad to hear you have your power back. Losing it really makes you realize just how much you depend on it, doesn’t it?
Thanks for all the great ‘shares’. Such great cards and talented ladies.
Enjoy the evening with your hubby!

  3. Hooray for power and fresh food! 😉 Wow…the dry embossed vellum looks amazing! LOVED your card the instant I saw it over at peas. I must be living under a rock…I’ve not even heard of Dexter…but am intrigued now!

  4. This card is SO adorable. I seriously love the dry embossing. I was just writing my SBing shopping list earlier and vellum was on that list.
I love Dexter too…been watching it since it started. Kinda twisted cheering on a serial killer, right!
So happy that you have your power back.

  5. Such a cute card! Love all the things you do. Just an observation… We see lots of layouts with Colin, you and Ken, your in-laws in Africa, your brother, your mom…I’m just kinda missing A and K lately…I miss seeing the girls.
Up until recently, I was missing Roxie too, but thanks for that clever “chipboard” layout.

  6. Wow I bet you are a happy girl now with your power back on? Another Dexter fan here too, waiting for the final episode of season one on Sunday night, it’s getting very tense.

  7. Cute card!! Glad to hear your power is back.

I can’t get the link for Cherie Mask’s photo card templates… and I’d love to have them! Is there any way you could re-post the link? Thank you!!!

  8. Yay! Happy to hear that you’re power is back. Did you and Ken take each other’s hand and sing “You Light Up My Life” when it came back on? I would have. In fact, I’m singing it right now for you… 🙂
Jennifer, I love that card. I love the dry embossing. Brilliant!

  9. Hi!
    To answer questions:
I had a mouse pad under there when embossing. Sorry I didn’t mention that!
K & A – I stopped publicly scrapbooking them – they were getting recognized a lot when they weren’t with me. Also, I have TONS of pages of them compared to what I have at Colin at the same age (I scrapbook a lot less now), so I need to get going on Colin’s. 🙂 They scrapbook with me often – love that.

  10. loooooooooooove the holiday cards over at 2peas. all of them. i think jen johner’s might be my favorite, but it’s hard to pick!!

YAY that you have power back.. good luck getting caught up and back in the groove of real life. =)
