My addiction to clear cards continues…

Hey!

Just got back from a date with my hubby (thanks mom and dad!) and we are watching the Olympics closing ceremony.  I have to admit, I haven't watched as much of the Olympics as I have in the past.  I just get so sad when people lose – it bums me out.  Weird.  Anyway…

How about a card share?  :)  This was from my Stampaway class.  Nothing new, but rather a few of my favorite techniques combined together.  For tips on stamping with white on clear, watch THIS video.  For coloring dimension on the butterfly, watch THIS.  I am still very addicted to clear cards…

HOH 1
Supplies:
Hero Arts stamps (circles, butterfly, greeting)
Hero Arts Clear Notecard
White Staz-On Ink
Ranger White Pen (butterfly trail)
EK Success punches

By the way, this uses my favorite white pen.  I finally found one I like… even better than the famous Signo.  It is the Ranger White Inkssentials pen HERE.  This one doesn't stop working mid-writing.  A good trick – if you write slowly, it looks even better.  I love this pen!

OK… off to snuggle in for a bit of lazy time. :)  Night!

  1. I love these clear cards too! However, I am having a hard time finding them. I also live in the Cincinnati area – any suggestions of where to go to buy them?

  2. OMG! I’m so excited to meet another “Sad” olympic watcher. My DH just laughs at me, since I felt so bad for the women in one of their relay races when they dropped the baton, I thought they should get another chance. And I felt the same way so many other times. Why can’t everyone win?! Oh, Well I blab & Blab. I love clear cards and keep trying to get them right, so thanks for another great example! Cheryl

  3. Love your card! I have been trying to make more clear cards since taking one of your classes but it is hard to find the materials.

  4. This clear card is GORGEOUS! I too seem to be addicted to them, and I’m always looking for another idea – they are just so unique! Have you tried colored StazOn? I only have the white and want to push it a little further. I did try coloring from behind with some very pastel markers, and liked the effect, but it would be alot easier to just stamp with a color! Are the colors in Stazon sticky also?

  5. Oh.my.word. I am just so McGuired-inspired now… I’m not going to be able to get to my card stuff soon enough…
    Thank you, Jen!

  6. aren’t those Ranger pens the bomb? I just bought my second one; it’s a spare in case I can’t find the first one or it runs out of ink someday at midnight when all the stores are closed…….sigh, I’m a compulsive hoarder.

I have a question for you Jennifer, how do you “clean off the fingerprints from your clear cards after you’ve made them? I always see a lot of smudges on mine. Thanks

  7. Love watching your videos…love, love, love them. Remember, I suggested that we should have a JenniferMcGuireInk channel on our TV’s. I would watch constantly..no commercial interruptions except for videos of Colin! 🙂
I bought 2 of your suggested pens. I’m always on the lookout for a better white pen. Thanks for the information!

  8. Hi Jennifer!

I need to start making some of those clear cards…yours are always awesome!
Saw your friend Carol at Stampers corner this past weekend…(My favorite store…)
Too bad it is a few hours away…but always well worth the trip!
