  1. Hi Jennifer!
Thanks for the video. I’ve been looking at buying one of these mats and the information you have provided has really helped my decision making process. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Thank you Jennifer. I just purchased this but I have not unboxed (guess that is not a word) it yet. I need to re-organize my craft space first!!

  3. I’d love to know how it works for stamping with a block for those times when not using a stamping platform. I’m used to the slight give of cardstock on top of a craft mat that is taped to a self healing mat.

Thank you for the well thought out video – with extras.

  4. I would like to know which stamp and die you used to create your Peruvian Lily aka Alstromeria card featured on Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat. It is so Beautiful! Glad you mentioned NOT to use Surgical Steel Knives aka Scalpel on TH Glass Media Mat!

Have you used Amesterdam Acrylic Paint. Arcylic Medium or any brand of Acrylic Paint, Acrylic Mediums, Gels, and/or Acrylic Inks on TH Glass Media Mat? Mahalo Nui Lo for Sharing ALL you Tips and Techinques with us! I have learned so much from you and your videos! Blessings!

  5. Hi Jennifer! I love my new glass mat! I had a plastic place mat taped on my desk so I didn’t get ink on my oak desk. Now I don’t have to deal with a tiny work space and my desk stays clean. What a blessing! Thank you for the video, I wasn’t really sure what the removable mat was for. My husband laughs when I say, so often, “Well Jennifer McGuire says….”! Love your techniques. You make the best videos! Thank you for all you do.

  6. Thanks so much for this informative video, Jennifer. This is on my “Christmas wish list” and I think it would make a fabulous gift for any crafter. I appreciate all of the tips and tricks that you shared with us.

  7. Great review, Jennifer! I just recently received mine from a preorder last January and rearranged my workspace to try out my new glass mat. So far, I’m in love with it but haven’t tested it like you have. TFS your tips!

  8. Thank you for this review! I’ve been holding off, waiting for it to be on the market for a bit and see what people really thought before purchasing. I appreciate hearing all the great perks you’ve listed!

  9. Jennifer…you are such an enabler!! Oh my “to have” list is getting bigger and bigger! Honestly have been searching for the “right” work surface and I think you have found it for me!! Thanks so much…once again! You are my crafting angel!!

  10. This mat DOES look amazing and I can see where it would be perfect for our crafting needs. Thanks for sharing!

  11. I absolutely love this mat. It defines my work surface and stays put unlike craft mats. I can grab my Tombows and distress inks and have the perfect area for mixing or adding water. A very useful buy.

  12. Thank you SO much for making this video!!!! I have seen this glass mat in such high demand, but frankly speaking, had no idea what the fuss was all about!!!! Now I know and have ordered one through your handy link. As always, you explain things so thoroughly and easy to understand. As a side note regarding your other videos, I don’t know how you come up with so many wonderful ideas, but I continue to be amazed and inspired by your talent and creativity, along with your ability to teach others. THANK YOU!!!!

  13. Thanks for this ever so helpful video, Jennifer. The detailed demonstration of the various benefits and options are invaluable for selecting purchases and you’ve done it well in this video…so here’s another addition to my Christmas wish list! tfs

  14. Oh, Jennifer. You’ve done it again! I love how you explain all of the advantages of this necessary tool… now, I can explain to my husband why I just HAVE TO HAVE THIS! Speaking of which, I found a sale at Joann’s. $23.99 right now. Not sure how long the sale lasts, so jump! Shipping is $4.99 for everything. Also, if you’re not hip to eBates, go educate yourself. Joann’s has a 1% cash back on everything right now. (I know Jennifer gets a bump from her affiliates, but this savings is too good not to share. )

  15. SOLD! I just ordered one from Joann’s for $23.99 !! Sounds like a great deal. The best tip was when you open the door of the MISTI, white is below. This will save me from putting a white piece of paper under the MISTI which I have been doing forever. You are not only a great crafter, but probably a better saleswoman.

  16. This is a completely awesome craft tool. It was so worth the wait until I could get my hands on one.

  17. Very timely video! I ordered mine (JoAnn’s sale!) last week and it’s on it’s way to me right now! I’m even more excited now than I was before!

  18. This was so timely Jennifer. Just yesterday I was thinking I should google videos using this mat as I have purchased it and wan’t exactly sure how it would be “amazing”. Using the inks on the side to blend on to the cardstock was great info, works wonderfully!

  19. Jennifer,
Thank you for showing just how convenient the Tim Holtz mat is and all the tips on how to clean it.

  20. I want it!! But I already have the older Tonic Studios glass mat and have been using it for years. It is white. That’s a big plus. I just wish it was bigger. I think I’ll have to wait on this new one, but it won’t be easy! Maybe when Sequoia is a bit more responsible, I’ll move mine to her side of the desk and . . .ta da!. . .upgrade on my side!

  21. I adore mine glass mat. I can put anything on it. glue, tap, color. It’s amazing. It does get a bit grimy from my tape runner, I’ll try the alcohol gel out. Thanks for the tip.

  22. I think that I was one of the first to buy this when it first came out! I love it! I can’t find one thing that I don’t like about it and you just gave me a few more tips on using it! Great buy and I recommend it highly!

  23. Question for all of you…I use my exacto knife for almost all of my cutting purposes. Will the glass mat eventually wear down the exacto knife blade and make it dull? I have always used a self-healing mat in the past.

  24. THANK YOU, Jennifer! I have been eye-balling this mat for sometime…. I think it will be going on my Christmas List now! 😉 SUPER JOB in showing us just how this mat works! 😉

  25. Since I have trouble with centering – this is a feature that would be most helpful for me. I have a glass mat, and love it, but it does not have any measurements on it. This is certainly going on my MUST have list. Thanks for the video

  26. I have one of these and just love it. I do a lot of cutting with a blade on it and it holds up beautifully. Thanks for this video, it gave me a few tips and ideas that I hadn’t thought of. Great review!

  27. I recently received mine after pre-ordering it in May and I love it. My craft room is mostly white and pale timber and I thought being black it would look out of place, but its so shiny and pretty. And it really does help you keep your workspace clear. And because its so smooth, sliding sequins and gems back into their containers, and even just moving paper around, is super easy.

    1. I know your comment is nearly a year old, but I did want to point out that Tonic came out with a left-handed version of the mat!
