One-Layer Card Masking + GIVEAWAY

Hello! I am back with another video focused on the many things you can do with masking. All of my cards are one-layer and are even personalized for the recipient. I am hoping this video makes you look at your stamps differently!

What’s one of the best ways to stretch your stamps and get new looks? Masking! Masking can be done in many ways. I shared a few of these methods in THIS video a few weeks ago… and today I am sharing more.

All of my cards today feature cups and mugs from the newest Hero Arts August My Monthly Hero Kit. (More on that kit below.) I used Avery Removable Adhesive Sheets to create masks in order to stamp the cup, add the whipped cream, and stamp a soft background with the Hero Arts Floral Doily Stamp (SSS | HA). I even used the negative mask to stamp the Hero Arts Floral Doily Stamp (SSS | HA) pattern on the cup itself… giving it a completely different look. (Be sure to watch the video to see how this was done.)

Thanks to lots of masking, I have a one-layer card with lots of interest.

My next card steps up the masking a bit. I again used the Hero Arts August My Monthly Hero Kit and masking to create the mugs. I added a cat from the Hero Arts Kit Tea Stamp & Die (SSS | HA) to the mug and a dog from the Hero Arts Headline Message Stamp Set (SSS | HA) to the cup. (This card is going to my friend Kristina Werner, so that is her cat and my dog.) I also stamped the Hero Arts Scribble Background Stamp over the masked images with Hero Arts Soft Vanilla Ink (SSS | HA).

The sentiment is from the new Hero Arts Spill The Tea Stamp Set (SSS | HA).

And yes, I probably should have had the mug sitting behind the cup – oh well. It’s handmade, not perfect! 🙂

My last card combines many masking techniques together on one card. This card is special because it is going to my friend as a thank you for a fun girls weekend. Each gal is represented by a mug on the card. I again used the Hero Arts August My Monthly Hero Kit along with letters from the Hero Arts Alphabet Soup Stamp Set (SSS | HA). The images on the mugs are from the Hero Arts Kit Tea Stamp & Die (SSS | HA), Hero Arts Headline Message Stamp Set (SSS | HA), Hero Arts You’re Beautiful Stamp Set (SSS | HA), and Hero Arts Unicorn Stamp & Die (SSS | HA).

So with masking, I was able to take simple images and personalize them for my card!
