Dimensional Stamped Backgrounds + GIVEAWAY

Hello! Today I am sharing a fun way to take stamped backgrounds and add dimension. It is amazing how much this changes the look of a card!

Like many of you, I am always looking for ways to get new looks from products I have. Today’s technique can completely change the look of background stamps… making something fun and dimensional.

My first card features the new Simon Says Stamp Bohemian Lace Background Stamp. I white heat embossed this awesome background on white cardstock. I then taped together three dies – one from the Hero Arts 12 Point Star Infinity Die Set and two from the Hero Arts Infinity Circle Die Set. I used these to cut from the center of my embossed background… and four other pieces of white cardstock. I inked each of the background-stamped pieces with different colors of Distress Ink and then adhered them together on a card with the extra die cut pieces stacked behind the sun and ring. This extra dimension is amazing in real life!

For my sentiment, I stacked three white and one black “sunshine” die cuts from the from the Simon Say Stamp You Are My Sunshine Die… and added “is coming” from the Simon Says Stamp Four Seasons Sayings Stamp Set.

Here you can check out the dimension and how you can still see the continuous pattern of the Simon Says Stamp Bohemian Lace Background Stamp across the pieces.

For my second example, I used another great new background stamp – the Simon Says Stamp Deco Diamonds Background Stamp. After white heat embossing it on white cardstock, I cut along the square pattern, being sure to keep the pieces in order so I could put them back together like a puzzle. I then inked each square and glued them on a card… with craft foam under every other square for dimension. Definitely worth the time it took!

I also sprayed the background with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz for sparkle. The sentiment combines a stacked “summer” Simon Says Stamp Four Seasons die cut and and a white heat embossed “happy” Simon Says Stamp Four Seasons Sayings.

  1. It’s tough to narrow it down to only one. They’re all great. But by a narrow margin, my favorite is the Simon Says Stamp Deco Diamonds Background Stamp. I just can’t wait to get it.

  2. Fabulous cards- love the dimension! My favourite product from the new release is the “Flower Cluster Wafer Die”. Thank you for the chance to win!

  3. I really like a lot of SSS’s background stamps, including the ones in this Sending Sunshin Release. My favorite, I think, is the diamond one you used to make that great background for your card. I especially liked how you cut it into individual diamonds so they could be colored with different ink and have foam tape to lift some of them up. Thank you so much for sharing these great ideas.

  4. The dimension on your cards is fantastic! I especially like the one with the bohemian lace background stamp. I love so many of the new products, but the Playful Messages is my favorite!

  5. Such beautiful cards! I love the Deco Diamonds stamp – and it’s even more of a must have seeing your gorgeous card!

  6. OMG! I can’t believe how beautiful these cards are! You are AMAZING! I gotta have these stamps and give this dimension a try.
PS- I want to be you when I grow up.

  7. Love what you’ve done with these products Jennifer. Particularly like the background stamps especially the Bohemian Lace. TFS

  8. Absolutely amazing! It seems tedious to me, but your results are outstanding. Well done, Jennifer. The you are my sunshine die is my fave.

  9. WOWIE!!! That was fun!!! I love “Het There Sunshine”. I like all of the sentiments and I really love the little dog! Thank you for all you do for us!! I think you’re amazing!!! I love sharing my Sunday mornings with you!

  10. I love the whole release, but my very favorite is the Flower Cluster die! Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!

  11. The “Hello There” is probably my favorite! I have recently taken to the cute little animals in stamps and have been incorporating them more in my card making. I really enjoy your videos and am so glad I can save them to my favorites to easily reference them. Now, if I can only win one of these giveaways! 🙂

  14. I’ve been following you for years and you always give me inspiration. So far my favorite realease this month is the “deco diamonds stamp” and I love what you’ve created with it.

  15. The Marilyn full card wafer die is really stunning but there’s also the 3 cling background stamps that are just outstanding (all of SSS background clings are stellar). And then there’s the wreath greeting stamp set! I love all things wreath! Wreath Stamps, Wreath Dies, Wreath Stencils, Wreath Stickers… love it!!!
I found it to be quiet difficult narrowing my favorite down to one!!

  16. Hard to pick just one favourite however the two stamps you used look great. I am very taken with all the leafy stamps and stencils and dies in the new release but I guess if I had to pick one it would be the Spring Flower Burst stamp set.

  17. My favorite is the diamond background stamp. I have come back and looked at it about 6 times. Thanks for the chance to win it.
