As you likely know, I am a big fan of 2-for-1 techniques… where you can make two cards at once. Today’s trick is perfect for that! Keep in mind this works with any stamps. Watch the video to learn the trick – it is easy to do, but best understood by watching it.

To do this technique, I hold two white cardstock pieces up next to each other and stamp along the area where they meet. Then I rotate both pieces 180 degrees and repeat. Easy!

My first examples use the Clearly Besotted Pretty Pansies Stamp Set. This stamp set is great for this technique as it has large floral clusters. (These other Clearly Besotted sets would be great for this technique, too: Happily Ever After, Make a Wish, Just For You, and Sending Sunshine.)

I colored all the flowers with Copic Markers and covered them with Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer Marker. I added them to notecards and used Nuvo Drops for accents. The gorgeous sentiment is from the new Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Stamp Set. This stamp set can be bought separately or as part of the incredible Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Card Kit.

I also used the Clearly Besotted Pretty Pansies Stamp Set for these next two cards. However, this time I colored rainbow flowers and used a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp / Gina K We Can Do This Stamp Set. (100% of the SALES from this set goes to hurricane relief. Every single penny! YAY and thanks to SSS and Gina K!)

My next pair of examples feature the Simon Says Stamp Let Us Rejoice Stamp Set. This floral bouquet looks so lovely framing these cards. I used Nuvo Drops for the berries, too. The sentiment on the red card is also from the Simon Says Stamp Let Us Rejoice Stamp Set. So beautiful.

The pink example again uses a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Stamp Set.

The WPlus9 Christmas Rose Stamp Set is also great for this technique. The card on the left uses a Birch Press Just Because sentiment, and the card on the right uses a Clearly Besotted Say Its Christmas sentiment.

Adding Wink of Stella Shimmer adds so much to these almost-one-layer-cards.

I am really enjoying making mini cards these days. These two minis feature the main image from the Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Stamp Set and a great sentiment from the Hero Arts You Are Loved Stamp Set.

You can also do this technique with smaller images formed into a cluster. I again used the Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Stamp Set along with a sentiment from the Birch Press Just Because Stamp Set.

  1. Beautiful cards. I’ve only done this twoferone technique with a large stamp, but I love that this uses smaller stamps. Brilliant.

  2. Jennifer…you never cease to amaze me with fantastic creative ideas on how to make lovely cards & stretch you stamps!! I am definitely going to try this technique!!

  3. I adore these. I have been doing a wee bit of coloring, but I still have so much to learn. Thanks for inspiring me!

  4. Such lovely one layer cards. I like that you include some mini versions and I like how the spread out images look like you stamped everything individually and invested a ton of time, but it was actually really quick and easy. I love stamp positioners for that. Best crafting investment after a good trimmer.

  5. Just beautiful cards Jennifer….I love them all and such a great technique….
your one creative person and I thank you foe showing how this was done…

  6. Very cool technique! I would love to give it a try. I ordered a bunch of floral stamps that haven’t gotten here yet, so now I am even more anxiously awaiting them! I like to take lots of stuff to color when I go to help take care of my mom. Every now and then she gets a card that was colored at her house!

  7. What a great technique! This would be great to use for creating a set of cards to use as a gift or for making multiples for my own use. I will definitely be giving this one a try. Thanks for another great video!

  8. Love that idea and since I like to color it would be perfect for me. Don’t have a large misti but will have to come
up with another idea for the duel cards.

  9. You are so clever. I would like to be a fly on the wall to see you when you design. Seeing your designs makes me think that I can do it too. Yeah. I think I can. I think I can. I think I will.

  10. Thanks for another tip-filled video Jennifer! I know I’ve said this before but you never cease to amaze me with the creative ideas you come up with. Doing the stamping for a two-fer just makes so much sense, especially for coloring on the run. I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! ~HUGS~

  11. Lovely! Lovely! Lovely! I’m so inspired to try this wonderful technique, Jennifer! You are so right. There is something extra sweet about smaller cards! Huge hugs for all that you share with us! 💗

  12. These cards are unbelievably gorgeous!! Such a smart technique. I love learning new ways to use stamps, or a new way to use a stamp set we May already have. You are a genius girl 😀

  13. When I watch your techniques, I start humming “If I only had a brain” from the Wizard of Oz. *sigh* Why can’t my brain think up 5% of the cool ideas you come up with? Hey, I’ll settle for 3%! I love the sparkle you achieved using the Wink of Stella over the Copic colors. And thanks for using the Kindness set from the recent SSS kit. I needed more ideas for using it and appreciate your creations! With aloha ♥

  15. That is a great idea! I try to remember to do two cards at once but I forget to. With this way, it’s right there. I’m trying coloring on the go with an upcoming trip. Great way to pass time on a long flight.
    Thank you.

  16. This is a great technique. I think I’ll have to give it a try. And all of your cards are lovely! Don’t forget that you are not alone in having ‘one of those days’! My specialty is dropping ink pads or inked up stamps directly on my projects!! 😬😄

  17. Jennifer,
I absolutely love your videos and blogs. You are such a kind and compassionate person who is extremely talented. I watch every one of your videos and love them all. However, I have a frustration that I hope you can help me with. I love crafts and got extremely interested in card making about 18 months ago. I started to build my supplies by watching your “Favorite” videos and purchasing some of your suggestions. My dilemma is this ; I am to the point of purchasing multiple colored paper and ink and I am very confused about what direction in which to go. My thinking is if I get one company’s paper then the inks will match and I don’t know which company to go with. I have a couple of inks and paper from a couple of companies out there (SSS and Gina K.) and love them both. I am trying to be economical and go with inks and paper from just one company because money and space are key factors. All that being said, what would be your recommendation. I would so love your advice.
By the way, this is another great technique and beautiful cards!!

  18. Wow, Jennifer, the 2 for 1 is great. That you can do it with even acrylic blocks is wonderful. Thank you for showing that because I don’t have the bigger Misti.

I echo all the amazing things everyone has to say about this video–another super duper awesome idea from an extremely talented and creative wonderful person!!!! I just get so excited to see your posts come through my email, because I know its going to be a fantastic idea (or news about a great sale!). I just love this idea, and I have so many stamps in mind to use this on (but I love the ones you used and would LOVE to get them all!!! ) Your coloring is amazing and I love how you added the berries to those cards, how clever. And we’ll never get tired of the bling the Wink of Stella adds to the flowers, etc. All those little extras you do make your cards a work of art. Thanks for sharing all these fantastic ideas with us! Have a wonderful day!!!
