There is something so special about cards you can see through. They are so unique! Today I show two ways to get a see-through, floating, die cut panel on the front of your card.

My first card is a bit more complicated than the second, but the results are cool! I used a double partial die cutting technique (be sure to watch the video) to get a seamless, connected card front. The Simon Says Stamp Stacked Stars Die is perfect for this technique! The card base is made from Simon Says Stamp Blue Violet Cardstock.

I created the moon by die cutting a circle twice from silver glitter paper on top of craft foam. This piece will provide additional support to the card since it is stretched across the delicate area. I also created dimensional gold stars and added them with Ranger Multi Medium Matte Adhesive. I also added faux enamel dots that I created with the fabulous Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Dots. The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Shine On Stamp Set.

I added splotchy, close sprays of Shimmer Spritz to create a shimmery night sky.

For the second card, I skipped the partial die cutting to save time. Instead, I die cut the Simon Says Stamp Stacked Hearts Die from two pieces of gray cardstock with Stick It adhesive on the back. I adhered them back to back to connect a panel I cut out from the front of the card.

After adding pink and sliver hearts cut from the Simon Says Stamp Heart Duet Dies, I added the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Uplifting Thoughts Stamp Set. This time I gave a light mist of Shimmer Spritz from high above to give the card even shimmer.

Both techniques are a fun way to create an unexpected card design! I hope you will try them.

If I had the choice I would buy the Moisac Star die and the stamp set you used in your first card, there is a quote in that stamp set that I always say to my daughter ‘I love you to the moon and back’. My daughter who is 9 also watched the tutorials with me and she said she loved your cards and she especially liked the hearts die set on your second card and the kittens stamp set and the die set. Its a lovely release set from Simon Says Stamp. Thank you for your lovely videos, I learn so much from watching everything you do and make.
