TWO Videos: Vellum Cards + Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello and welcome! I have lots to share today, including two videos and a blog hop. The first video shares tips for creating vellum embossed cards and the second is a product release close-up video focusing on new products from Ellen Hutson. First? Let’s check out those cards…

My sweet friend Julie Ebersole has done it again and created some amazing new stamp and die designs got Ellen Hutson. (Look below for a video showing the new products.) Aren’t these flowers gorgeous?
I created several note cards (I got a bit carried away!) out of my favorite heavy-weight vellum. It’s high quality and heavy enough for a card base. Those lovely flowers are from the new Bohemian Garden Set by Julie Ebersole for Ellen Hutson. Gorgeous, huh? They are heat embossed with various colorful Ranger embossing powders.
A little tip: When heat embossing on vellum, I let my heat gun get very hot first. I then wait about 30 seconds to bring it to the vellum to help prevent warping.
To keep the focus on the floral embossing, I kept the rest of the card simple. I really adore this label die from Avery Elle and used it on all the cards. I stamped a variety of sentiments (check the thumbnails below) from several stamp sets with VersaFine Black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I find that black embossing powder doesn’t give the best results so this is another way to achieve that look.
I used four label dies for each card. I adhered one on the front, two on the inside, and one on the back. This hides all of the adhesive since it’s a see through card and gives me spots to write my message.
Using my new Kirarina Wink pen, I added a few white dots to my design which gives a finishing touch without adding dimension. This white pen is incredible on vellum and colored cardstocks. I also created matching envelopes using the same flower images.
I also did a few cards with some of my favorite specialty powders. This design is great for using whatever supplies you have on hand! If you don’t have colored embossing powders, you can stamp with colored pigment inks and clear emboss.
