Video: Window Shaker Card + Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY

Hello. Today I have a video sharing an easy way to create a window shaker card. Oh – and this post is also part of a fun blog hop with giveaways! Keep reading…

Before I get started, I wanted to say – – I am very excited about the stamp set I am using today! My sweet friend Shari Carroll designed it with my daughter in mind. It’s called Lila’s Heart and I am so excited about this set. Shari did an awesome job! (Thank you, Shari. Love you.) Isn’t she the cutest? So here is little Lila… all colored with Copic Markers and a bit of detail with a white Gelly Roll pen.

For the background of the card, I heat embossed the new Simon Says Stamp Falling Hearts background with silver pearl embossing powder. I love the pearly tone-on-tone look this gives. I cut the window of the card using a circle die.

Next, I taped that same circle die on the front of an Avery Elle Stamp Pocket. (You could instead use two pieces of thin plastic.) I used the circle die as a guide for stamping two circle sentiment stamps from the new SSS Circle Sayings stamp set with Staz On white ink.

Here’s the cool part – I used the new We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool to fuse the two pieces of plastic together to make a shaker pocket. The same circle die acted as my guide and ran the tool along edge, leaving just enough open to fill the shaker pocket with sequins before sealing it completely shut. This tool is meant for pocket scrapbooking, but I think it works great for shaker cards! Another great thing? There is no bulk to this shaker card because no foam tape is needed. (You could use flat double-sided tape to create the pocket, but this tool makes it quick.)

I sandwiched my little shaker pocket between the grey stamped piece and the notecard. This forms a fun, flat shaker window.

I love that little Lila girl!

All the products are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this post.) I thought I would share it again today in case you missed it.
