A Cut Above Die Cutting Class + Giveaways

Wanted to give you a heads up on a new jam-packed, 3-week, creative die cutting class I have coming up called A Cut Above. This is the newest class from our Online Card Classes and it starts on Monday the 16th. I am excited to have teamed up with Kristina Werner and Nichol Magouirk for this fun class…

Here’s the info…

Are you a die cutting expert or do you consider yourself a novice? Do you prefer a traditional die cutting machine or would you rather use your computer to design what you’ll be cutting? Or maybe you’re just not sure! Never fear, we’re here to help! Join Kristina Werner, Jennifer McGuire, guest instructor Nichol Magouirk and many great guests for A Cut Above, as they show you the ins and outs and everything you need to know about the various die cutting systems.

You’ll leave class with the knowledge of numerous tips and creative techniques for using the Big Shot, Vagabond, Cuttlebug and Grand Calibur with various types of dies and embossing folders, as well as the Silhouette Cameo. The first half of class will be devoted to traditional die cutting methods and the second half will be focused on the increasingly popular Silhouette (Cameo, SD, and original Silhouette). Simple to complex, beginning to advanced – we’ll cover it all!

This three-week interactive class includes free downloads (including from guest artist Ali Edwards), BIG prizes, galleries, a Q&A forum and lifetime access! Class runs April 16 to May 7, but content will be available for a lifetime.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO & TO REGISTER!

If you’re interested in only the traditional die cutting portion of the class, or maybe in just the Silhouette portion, we will be offering A Cut Above in two separate parts on May 15. You can find more info on that HERE.

Giveaway time! I have three spots to give away in the A Cut Above class. Leave a comment here telling me your favorite die cutting machine or if you are dreaming of having one. I will pick 3three winners on Wednesday 11:59pmEST. If you have already registered for the class and win, we will give you a refund. 🙂

Hope you have a blessed and happy Easter, filled with the peace of knowing He has Risen. Take care!

I love my Cuttlebug. It works with all products. Thanks for a chance to win, and for everything you do.

  2. Michelle says:

I have taken your previous online classes and loved them–but to win a free spot would be icing on the cake!

  3. Becky Johnson says:

Thanks for the chance to win. I have a Cuttlebug; seems to be the easiest for me, being in a wheelchair. I always say “it takes time to be handicapped.” (Not complaining.)
    Peace, Becky Johnson

  4. Victoria in OHio says:

Oh I have been wanting a Big Shot for years and a vagabond would be amazing! Would love to be able to take this class!

  5. Juilien says:

I only have the Cuttlebug machine and cannot make a comparison. My dream die cut machine shall be the Silhouette Cameo.

  6. kate Burroughs says:

I have a Vagabond and a Cricut but would really like to get something that can cut original stuff like a Silhouette or an eClips. Still trying to decide which one of the electronic ones to get, that has an easy interface with a Mac computer. Thanks for a chance to win your class.
    Aloha, Kate

  7. Lena B. says:

Hands down, my favorite traditional die cutting machine is my vagabond. I’m really looking forward to learning about the silhouette since I am thinking about getting one next fall and need to learn more about it.

  8. Sue Hartley says:

I have a Big Kick and a Cricut, but don’t use either as much as I could. I’m thinking of taking the class to find out tips for using both of them more. Plus I love Hero Arts stamps and I’ve been noticing more of their designs used with Silhouette and it would be interesting to see how that’s done.

  9. julie says:

I have a Cuttlebug and use it often. I like that it’s so portable and that Nestabilities dies work well. I don’t like the fact that the B plate gets so warped and so scarred up.

  10. Jessica H. says:

My favorite cutting machine has to be my silhouette. I love my big shot too! Thanks for the chance to win Jennifer. I’m looking forward to class next week!!!!! =)

I just finished Tim’s class-it was amazing! I have a Cuddlebug and also a Pazzles Inspiration–I use my Pazzles for almost all of my projects and use my little “bug” for mostly embossing and using a few Nestabilities. I love my Pazzles–I can cut lots of media from CS, chipboard, grunge board, vellum, fun foam, stamping material, vinyl and I can also do engraving on metal, embossing on metal and vellum (CS doesn’t emboss as deep with this machine), draw with my pen tool, do print and cuts —the list just goes on and on. I also use the software as my primary design software as I can create digital pages and save them in lots of formats or print them, import graphics, I can create die cuts from photos or clip art–the list just goes on and on. I love Pazzles because they have an online “club” you can join–some things are free for everyone plus they have the amazing Klo who teaches all over and does a free online class almost weekly–you can join it “live” at 3 different times so can ask questions and comment live and you can also watch them later as “saved” videos. I think Pazzles support is awesome–which is why I love my machine.

  12. Elaine Lisle says:

I have a Cuttlebug and would like to know the comparisons to other die cutting machines. This on-line class sounds perfect!

  13. Nicole F, UK says:

I have both the Cuttlebug and the Big Shot. I started die cutting with the ‘Bug and love how portable it is. But the Big Shot is better for cutting through several layers at a time, using different materials and for bigger dies! Thanks for the chance to win Jennifer!

  14. Nancy says:

I have a Cricut Expression and I absolutely love it. I don’t even know if I want something else . . . because I don’t know enough about them (like the Silouette) to know if it’s something I’d use! I’d love to learn more about the systems other people use and what’s new and exciting. Thanks for the chance to win!

  15. Deirdre says:

I am lucky enough to have a Big Shot but am dreaming about a Silhouette Cameo!

  16. DorothyCC says:

I have the original small Cricut machine but would love to own a machine that embosses as well as die-cuts.

  17. ConnieM says:

I first started out with my little red Sizzix, then I moved on to the Ellison Big Shot, and finally, my husband surprised me with a Silhouette. I love them all for different reasons.

My favorite die cutting machine is the Cuttlebug! It’s small but it’s mighty!!

  25. Terrie says:

I’d love to win a spot in this class! I have a Cricut Expression, a Cuttlebug and a Grand Calibur, but I really would love to own a Silhouette to have the freedom to cut any font or original shape. The class sounds awesome!
    Thanks!

  26. Sue Rasmussen says:

I have an original Cricut, but would love to learn more about other options before investing in an update. Thanks for this opportunity.

I have a Cuttlebug and the original Cricket. I would love the chance to win this class. Thank you. Val from IL

  28. Patti T says:

My fav is silhouette and I’d love to be more effective in it.

  29. Kathy M. says:

I have a Silhouette and I would so love to win this class!

  30. Allison says:

My obsession all started with a QuicKutz Squeeze. I was instantly hooked and then graduated to the Revolution and Epic 6. Now I want the Evolution that will be coming out soon.
On the digital side of it, I had the original Silhouette, then sold it and upgraded to the Cameo. I *love* the Cameo and the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition software and its capabilities and freedoms.
Though I love my Cameo, I still love my manual die machines and dies, too. There’s just something about cranking that handle and the beautiful, clean cuts that a manual machine makes that a digital can’t.

  31. kathycnc says:

Ooooh…..I would Loooooove to win a spot in the class. Just finished Creative Chemistry 101…

  32. Billie Dee says:

I am horrible about posting the wonderful things that I learn in these online classes. I am the proud owner of a Cuttlebug, BigShot and a Silhouette. I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve turned the Silhouette on twice! *GASP!* I need to learn how to use it.

  33. akidebo says:

I have a Big Shot and it is my favorite!! But I am saving some money for my next dream die cut machine… Silhouette Cameo!
Thank you for a chance to win the class!

  34. Traci W. says:

My favorite machine has always been the cuttlebug. I find it to be pretty easy to use. I also have my cricut machine that I play with pretty often. Thanks f or the chance to win!

  35. Carolyn K says:

I have a Big Shot and a Cricut. My future plans are to sell the Cricut and get a Silhouette. Love what I’ve seen made with it and the freedom of fonts which I dont have with the Cricut, unless I keep buying cartridges. Sounds like a wonderful class!

  36. Kathy Martin says:

This sounds like an amazing class! I have many die cutters and my fave is a toss up between Silhouette and the Wizzard for thin metal dies.

  37. Chrissie R says:

Silhouette wins for me. I fell in love instantly.

  38. Karey says:

I have a cuttlebug and it seems to work well. I have a cricut that has never been out of the box. I have 3 cartridges. Just intimidated to try it.

  39. Chris Space says:

You amaze me! When do you do all these things? You’re about to have a baby too! All I remember about my 2nd pregnancy is napping. BTW, I met your friend Shari when I took her class recently at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff. Such a riot! Anyway, I’m always eager to learn and die cutting is a weak area for me. Sure would love a chance to do this class free!
    Thanks

  40. Becs Attwood says:

Sounds like a great class – any die-cutting machine is a big investment so it’s helpful to get tips on how to get the most use out of it. I only have a Cuttlebug and it suits me fine. However one day I would love a Vagabond or Silhouette, I love what they can do but can’t justify the cost right now.

  41. Christine says:

Sounds awesome!! I’d love to learn some new tricks, to help keep my tools new!

  42. Jayne Mercer says:

Thanks for the chance to win. I love my Big Shot. I love that I can use it with my class of ten year olds and they’re always amazed! Would love to see how to get more out of it and see what other systems can do. Thanks.

  43. Debs says:

What a great class to offer…I have a Cuttlebug and Cricut…but I am a novice….which is why I haven’t tried the Silhouette. Thank you for the chance to win.

  44. love my sizzix pro!

  45. Esperanza Reyes says:

The silhouette cameo has a steadfast hold on my heart. I cannot believe the ease and the versatility of this machine!

  46. Marisela B says:

I only have a Big Shot… Silhouette it´s my dream!

  47. I {heart} my Big Shot, and learning new tips and tricks would be fantastic!

  48. Debbie B says:

I currently have a Cuttlebug, Cricut Expression and the Imagine. I love all three of these machines and use them almost every day. Recently I have heard a lot about the Silhouette Cameo and am very interested in that one. But with all the machines I have now, I think my husband would “kill” me if I asked for another one:) Thanks for a chance to win one of these classes! BTW, you are one talented person!! Ciao db:)

  49. Joan Dullebawn says:

I have a Sizzix Vagabond, Spellbinders Grand Calibur, Silhouette SD, and Cricut Expression 2. Love the Vagabond because it’s so simple and quick for using various companies’ metal dies and embossing folders. Probably use this the most. Love the Grand Calibur for the larger dies it accepts. Love the Silhouette for the versatility and thousands of beautiful and varied individual shapes I can download for less than a dollar each. Cricut’s OK, but I hate to have to buy expensive cartridges when I only like four or five of the dozens of shapes on each cartridge, hence I only have four cartridges. (Though, the Close-To-My-Heart Art Philosphy cartridge is wonderful!–whole reason I gave into getting a Cricut after years of saying “no.”) Also, the Cricut doesn’t cut as precisely as the Silhouette or manual die cutters and the functionality of the machine is not as advanced as the Silhouette; however, they do have a new free online Craft Room program that may make it a little more like the Sihouette. Haven’t tried it yet. Would love to upgrade to the new version of the Silhouette–the Cameo. Can you tell I just love die-cutting?!!
