Day 2 of Trio Challenge

Welcome to Day 2 of my Trio Challenge with Kathy and Lucy. Today we will all be using the Lawn Fawn Critters In The Sea stamp set

Since I am focusing on inking, I just stamped the whale on Neenah white paper three times with Black Dye Ink and used my Ink Blending Tool to add color, applying heavier on it's belly for shading. I then stamped over the whales with the same color Distress Ink and the Hero Arts Friend Definition. The clear card was stamped with the Hero Arts Magical Background and White Staz-On Ink. (Using the Stamp Press is key here!) I printed my own greeting and this is what I ended up with…

And, of course, I broke out my White (for the water squirts) and Black (for the eyes) Enamel Accents

I love rounding the corners of my cards. (Why? Because Hallmark doesn't. Ha.) I highly recommend using the Corner Chomper because it can get through any layers (including this heavy clear card) and you can do it at the end even if you have embellishments in the way. Love…

And, how cool is this background? So fun. Quite magical, huh? (It is, after all, called the Magical Background…)

By the way, when stamping on clear or acetate pieces, using a Stamp Press is very helpful. Keeps from smearing every time…

Now, be sure to head over to Kathy's blog to see her wonderful coloring and Lucy's blog to see her rockin' use of patterned paper with the same stamp.
