The color purple…

Hello!  Hope you are having a good week.

Thought I would share another card using new Hero Arts stamps.  I am addicted. 🙂

When shopping over the holidays, I noticed that a lot of stores had purples.  Purple was everywhere!  So, I thought I would take a stab at it on a card…

Catalog Card 3
Supplies:
Hero Arts stamps (background and single paisley and greeting)
Hero Arts notecards, pearls and flowers

Simple, simple, simple!

I know most people avoid purple.  What about you?  Do you ever use it?  I admit – it was fun – it reminded of me when I was 10 and loved everything purple.  And how happy I was when my mom let me redo my whole room in entirely purple. 🙂

Hugs!

  1. I’ve always had a “thing” for purple! It’s royal and happy!! I’ve used it several times on cards especially but I can honestly say it hasn’t made many appearances in my scrapbooks. I should use it more often since it makes me happy! And who wouldn’t want a hug, card style! I might just card lift and send this to my mom! Thanks.

  2. This is adorable! Love the paisley “leaves”.

I loved purple when I was younger, too. I think it all started when I fell in love with Donnie Osmond and the sparkly purple socks he always wore on the Donnie & Marie Show… and yes, I realize just how dated that makes me sound – bwahaha! My room was all purple, too… actually, lavender gingham. 🙂

  3. Oh so cute Jenn!! Blue is my favorite color to match purple…its a surprisingly, wonderful combo!
Love the paisley stamps too as leaves. I have some HA paisley stamps that I’ve been hoarding because I don’t know what to do with them. That’s for sharing!

  4. I am a purple avoider — which is weird given when I had the option to decorate my room as I kid it was grapeville! Purple shag carpet and all! Yikes. I may have rethink the purple thing — this card is beautiful!

  5. I don’t often use it, because I never have been a fan. But lately, as I get into Valentine’s projects, I find it a nice alternative to just pink and red. I like this simple card though, very spring-y! 🙂

  6. Oh, I ADORE purple. It’s my favorite color.I was a Donny lover also. I do believe I still own a pair of purple socks!!

  7. Purple is my favorite color. One year all my Christmas gifts were wrapped in various purple papers. Loved it and have never gotten it! Now it’s my daughter’s favorite color. And, yes, I have used it while making cards and pages.

  8. Really? People avoid purple? – i LOVE purple, i love pink too but i adore purple -ink, pens, waterbottles, clothes – no Donny socks tho :-)I never had a purple room, my love of purple started when i was out of college – i am known for always writing with purple pens -so guess what my fave paper color is – yep purple – i love it with mellow moss from SU! Everybody has different tastes & that makes it so fun when we see ways other people use color, sometimes we find a new love 🙂

  9. I have to say that I almost never use purple…in card making or scrapbooking. I think it’s just a scary color to try and work with! But your card makes me want to break out of my box a bit. Thanks!

  11. Ocassionally I might use purple–I’ve got nothing against it–Actually a couple of my favorite “mother’s day” pages have purple.

  12. Gorgeous card, Jennifer! I love the purple! You know – I don’t use purple a lot at all, but when I do I usually love the outcome! I should pull it out more! Thanks for the inspiration!! 🙂

  13. I am one that avoids purple. Which is funny because I have so much purple paper. Hard to resist. I love it with green. I dolove eggplant though…that deep deep purple. I love it with kraft cardstock.

I actually made myself buy my daughter some purple clothes so that I could use my cardstock. I did a really pretty layout a long time ago. It matched her Easter dress so perfectly!

And I always use purple pens. I love them. I just don’t like it on my body! LOL

Hope you are enjoying your vacation! 🙂

  14. Adorable card! I love purple, it is my favorite color. However, I admit that I don’t use a lot of purple when I make cards. Maybe I should start using it more. 🙂

Have fun and enjoy your vacation!

  15. I had a purple room too! It was very light purple. I still love this color and my scrapbook room is actually purple (was a kid’s room when I bought the house and kept everything the same). I use it frequently in scrapbooking, but then again, I use about every color!

  16. Purple rocks! Both my daughter and I love purple. I love to create cards and layouts with purple. I love to wear purple, my husband loves it on me. Keep using it Jennifer, your card is beautiful!

  17. Jennifer, purple is a beautiful complicated color and you did it justice. I love the cool colors together. Blues, greens and purples. That was my sisters wedding colors and a beautiful baby afghan I made for her son.

  18. Jennifer

I still love purple only due to my daughter opening this color to me. I agree it is hard to work with. However, you always know just the perfect way to use it.

I hope you are having a great time.

  19. LOVE PURPLE! I don’t know that I scrap with it much though because I keep saving the pretty papers for whenever I finally do that “All about Me” album…will probably be years from now! 🙂

  20. Purple intimidates me…there are so many different values of it. But I’ll give it a try this week!

Have a wonderful vacation…darling pictures of your guys!

  21. I LOVE purple! It has always been one of my most favorite colors! 🙂 My craft room is painted a dark purple! 🙂 I like purple and red together…
