Mini Cards

(Before I go on, be sure to check Laura's awesome blog.  Turns out she is a use-your-scraps-for-cards girl, too!  She is amazing.  Look HERE.)

OK… mini cards.  I am currently addicted to making bitty greetings.  Generally, I just cut a card in half, resulting in a card about 2.75"x4.25".  I still put it in a regular envelope since the PO doesn't like anything smaller than 3.5"x5".  Here is one I did a few weeks ago, which is very inspired by the amazing Shari HERE.

052608 Hello House

Supplies:
Hero Arts stamps (house/greeting & sun), gems and notecard
Bo Bunny patterned paper
Fiskars corner rounder
Cuttlebug
Colored pencils and gamsol
Diamond Stickles

By the way, isn't that Bo Bunny paper the cutest?  The Almond dot is the one I use most – it is the perfect neutral-yet-a-bit-of-interest paper for any project.  It is magical. :)  You can find it HERE, along the other colors.

I have gotten a lot of emails about getting good scallop edges for pages.  I personally LOVE the Doodlebug trims.  They have a petite scallop, which is great on cards and pages.  And you can get the colored ones and have the option of using the back, which is always white.  Fun stuff.  You can find them HERE.

Before I head on to email, a word of warning: there will be some serious enabling coming up soon.  I finally installed my new toy.  🙂

Take care!

  1. That card is just SO darn cute! Love how you’ve used the gems (along with everything else).
Have fun with your new toy! I’m sure you’ve already ‘enabled’ me to get enough other things to pay for it. 😉 Lucky for me I’m intimidated by electronics… Just don’t go doing anything silly like giving us a how-to video showing just how easy it is to use. 😉

  2. Really now…could this get any cuter?! 🙂 Love the mini size and how you used the house stamp…I made a card with that set today too (housewarming card) but now I want to chuck it and make one like this instead. 😉 Just adorable.

  3. Love the itty bitty size! It makes the house look big! Adorable happy house scene!

And, Mz. Enabler… I am still working off the last enable post for blending tools and sponges! Not sure if I am ready for the QK Silhouette plunge! I am one of those who has not yet gone down the die cut machine path..

ps.. Want to be a super duper enabler? Please share your blending tool ebay source!

  4. ok! this is the CUTEST little card!!!

  5. And another great card. I just looooove all the things you make. Thanks for the link to Laura’s blog, she’s wonderful indeed. But hey… I just sneaked a Cuttlebug in today (thanks to you). And I already own a Zip (which I obviously haven’t used a lot). So I (OK, my husband) can’t handle much more new scrapstuff coming to our house LOL. Love the Doodlebug Frills too. I bought them in white to sponge them in any color I’d like. Make a guess… they’re still unopened. I’m bad I know. Thanks for all your wonderful ideas!

  6. I went and took a gander at your new toy. Yowza! That thing is truly revolutionary. I may finally have to break down and invest in a die-cutting machine.
