Another video…

HERE today on Hero’s blog.  Shows a few little tricks, including a swing card.  Thought I would share another example of this type of card here.  Basically, there is a brad on the top of that circle and it swings up to reveal the personal message beneath.  (So the card doesn’t open like a traditional card.)

The technique on the butterfly is a twist of the embossed resist shown on the video on Hero Arts’ blog HERE.  I just stamped the butterfly with Versamark ink on vintage text paper. I then heat embossed with white powder.  I applied green watercolor over the image and wiped away the excess with a wipe.  Easy!

Supplies:
Hero Arts stamps (butterflies, greeting) and notecards
Versamark ink (for butterfly)
White embossing powder (on Versamark for butterfly)
Black Memories Ink
Watercolor (to watercolor over butterfly)
Marvy punches
Vintage text paper (torn from old dictionary)
Brad (found on the floor in my scraproom… hee)

More later!  Happy Tuesday…

  1. Jennifer, I loved watching you put that card together. I left a comment at the Hero Arts blog about it as well. I am totally addicted to these videos. It’s one of the first things I look for in the morning while I drink my coffee and the kids and hubby are still asleep…yay!
As I always say, you are so talented and such an inspiration…you make me want to create.

  3. Oh, another great take on the emboss resist. Do you realize that you are causing me NOT to vacuum, cook dinner etc. today, because I am playing with this technique and the swing card, too. Keep sharing these great ideas. Thank you.

  4. I am so glad that you have become addicted to making videos, Jennifer, because I am addicted to watching them and then making something! It feels so good to be creative for at least a little while every day…. some “me” time.

  6. Jennifer,
You might know this already, but Lego has a free monthly magazine that your little man may enjoy as he gets older. You can join (I believe) at http://www.lego.com. It’s pretty cute, and my kids love getting it. 🙂

  7. Do you ever run out of ideas, girl? It’s one gorgeous creation after another. Just in awe…you rock!

  8. Well, I feel I’m starting to repeat myself on these comments…these cards and videos are super. I really enjoy learning something every day. I love to see the “process” that other people use when they create stuff. Love, love, love your videos and your blog…now if only I could win something sometime! LOL
