  1. Wow! Incredible backgrounds. Reminds me of how we used to layer different background stamps but the gel press lets the user add even more texture. I ordered a gel press as soon as they came back in stock and am anxious for it to arrive so I can start playing. I will be watching your videos repeatedly as I learn. Brilliant idea to use the MISTI and gel press together ond to use a cutting plate to hold the gel press. Thanks for all the tips and for your clear and detailed instructions!

  2. I have had a gel press in my stash for YEARS and have never even opened it!! NOW I can and can use some of your tips and techniques and with the MISTI easy peasy!! Need to look into those brayers as I’ve a couple in my stash and have never been happy with the results that I get. OH my word…you are absolutely incredible!! YOU are BLESSING!!

  3. These are gorgeous backgrounds. The white pigment ink really steps it up and the shimmer spray is over the top. So, I have a question for you. I bought the large gel press from Ranger. They had a sale and I got the 9×11 one. I kind of want to cut it smaller but hate to do that. I could use it with my large Misti. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.

  4. Stunning cards Jennifer.I must start doing this with my gel plates.Ive always used it for mixed media projects.

  5. Thanks, as always, Jennifer! So many beautiful ideas and you do such a lovely job of explaining.
I will add a word of caution though. I put my gel press on my Waffle Flower media mat and when I pulled the gel press off, it stretched it out of shape. It’s still usable, but the interior of the waffle mat no longer lays flat. It’s like a stretched out balloon in a rectangle frame. Lots of extra silicone with no where to go. I keep returning it to its packaging and trying to massage it back into a denser state, but I think it is irreparably stretched, so be sure to lay your gel press on something that is not pliable.

  6. Genius technique with the Misti and gel press plate together, thanks Jennifer. What is the tool you used occasionally to apply pressure over the closed cover of the Misti? It was hard to see but looks like it provides great even pressure. My wrists could use that kind of help. Many thanks for your great ideas and instructions!

  7. Fascinating, incredibly fascinating watching you create! I am definitely going to jump right in to the Gell Press. You are so encouraging for us crafters to use what we may already have and get fantastic results. It just looks like so much fun! Yes addicting 😉 Thank you for the tips and the inspiring designs!

  8. I have a gel press sitting in my drawer, had no idea how much fun this can be. Unfortunately, I don’t have distress oxide inks so I will have to play with what I’ve got and shall see if it works. Thank you, again, for another wonderful video full of inspiring ideas.

  9. WOW! Amazing cards. You are a fantastic card maker. Thank you for all your great videos and tips. I have learn so much from you. Thank you.

  10. What an interesting video and the techniques blew me away. Loved the finished product. I’m having trouble getting my gel press but now that I know that Amazon has them, may get one there. Have you heard of Sticky Specs (Amazon and Paper Wishes)? They’re great for putting down the intricate die cuts. Thanks for all you do for us!

  11. Another fabulous video filled with tips, tricks, techniques, and NEW SSS products. I see some that I will need to add to my wish list! And can’t wait to try these card designs!

  12. I have a few gel presses (different sizes/shapes) and have greatly enjoyed playing with them over past few years using acrylic paints. You are so right when you say it is addictive. Duh, never even thought of using my oxide inks. with it. I will be taking out my gel presses, stencils, and inks tomorrow and play all day. To heck with housework.

As always, you are so inspiring. Just one question….do you ever get to sleep? Even my husband is amazed at how many ideas you come up with.

  13. Wow, those are so beautiful!!!
I’ve never used gel press, and didn’t think I would like it. But when I see these cards, I want to get one :).
My favorite is the purple one with leaves die.

  14. Stunning backgrounds Jennifer and awesome cards.
What a great way to use your gel plate. I have a stamping tool but to use a die cut plate opens for me an other great way to use my gel plate namely in my art journal. I have been thinking for a while about how I could use my gel pate in my art journal without sticking pages separately in it. You nailed it again Lady!
Thank you so much for sharing this great way to use the gel plate, stay safe and have a wonderful week.

  15. Goodness! I love this technique and I love how you adapted the gel press to use with the Misti! Thank you for continuing to inspire us, I love how your engineering mind crosses into the creative—you give us so many ideas, thank you, thank you!

  16. Love these ideas Jennifer! Haven’t used my Gel Press for years, but finally have a good reason to pull it out again and put it to use. Thanks for your fabulous videos. Love them

  17. Hi! What is the object you are using on your hand when you put pressure on your Misti?! I don’t see it in your list! Thanks!
