Tri-Fold Pop-Up Cards

Hello! I am back with another idea for a pop-up card. However this time, it is a tri-fold surprise.

In THIS video, I shared how to create simple pop-up features for inside of cards. Today I step it up a bit and show how to add this to a tri-fold card design. It is difficult to explain in words, so please watch the video for the how-to!

My first card looks very simple from the outside. There is a window displaying a scene created with the Hero Arts July My Monthly Hero Kit (more on that below) and Hero Arts Reactive Inks (SSS | HA)… and a sentiment from the Hero Arts Lake Time Fun Stamp Set.

When you open the front of the card, you see more of the scene…

And when you open the next fold down, there is a pop-up scene!

I stamped the kids on acetate so they would pop up and look like they were floating in air. So fun!

My second card also has a simple scene showing through the window of the closed card. This one also features the Hero Arts July My Monthly Hero Kit… and a moon from the Hero Arts Smores Bonfire Stamp Set.  The “thank you” is from the Hero Arts Thank You Messages Stamp Set (SSS | HA).

When you open the card, you see the second flap…

And when you open that flap, there is a surprise pop-up scene! The bear and sentiment are from the Hero Arts Camp In the Wild Stamp Set.

I hope you try these fun pop-up scenes!

  14. I grew up and then raised our kids in a small mountain town near a lake. These cards speak of home to me. You have built amazing scenes! Hero Arts did well, too! A great combination! Thank you for all the inspiration!

  15. Gorgeous cards Jennifer and I love that you explain the cards so well on your video. Awesome to see that I don’t need any die for the pop-up part, only “open shoe boxes” LOL. Great Hero Arts kit.
Thank you so much for showing.

  16. Wow! Your cards are awesome! I love how you stamped the silhouette of the kids on acetate; it really does look like they’re jumping off the dock. 🙂

  17. I love your videos. You do such a good job of explaining and showing how you do it. Thanks for teaching us and sharing your ideas.

  18. Love your cards, envious of your talent (and space!), but NEED to know: what do you do with extra die-cuts? I’m running out of space but HATE throwing out extra parts that could come in handy. Hoarder talk if I ever heard it. I’ve considered throwing them out (horrors!). Advise, pls. Thx.

  19. Jennifer! You always amazing me! I love the HA set for July, but unfortunately was not quick enough! I love the reactive inks that you used on the card, could you share the specific colors you used?

  20. I just returned from a trip to Alaska and saw this. I LOVE your ideas and am already to try my hand at using this stamp set; but, alas, the kit is sold out. I have other stamp sets to use with this idea but the whole Alaska thing is calling for me to try this set. Thanks for always providing stunning cards, wonderful techniques, and inspiration.
