Using Scraps for Cards + FREE GIFT

Hi once again! I am back to share cards that I created using lots of colorful scraps. These scraps are left over from yesterday’s video… but these tips and designs can be used with any leftovers.

All the colorful pieces I use today are leftover from the cards I made in THIS video with Tim Holtz Alcohol Pearls and Tim Holtz Heavyweight Yupo Paper. And today’s techniques could be done with patterned paper, ink blended, stamped… ANY kind of scraps.

My first example shows using a die cut inlay technique with colorful scraps and the Simon Says Stamp Outline Clustered Leaves Die. I added a sentiment created with the Simon Says Stamp Big Friend Dies and Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Faith Stamp Set.

Here you can see both the dimension and shine…

I also find scraps are fun to use for sentiment strips. This card was inspired by a card I made in THIS video… but this time with leftover colored pieces. I again used the Simon Says Stamp Big Friend Dies… and added multiple sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp CZ Design You Got This Stamp Set.

Some strips use foam adhesive and some are adhered directly to the card.

This next example just shows that you can use strips to create a simple card. This design works great for any scraps – even with busy patterns.

This sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp CZ Design You Got This Stamp Set is fun because you can get a coordinating die to cut it out. LOVE!

Here is another examples using scraps for a background. This time I completely covered the background to create unique look. I recommend this style if all your scraps look good together… not just random ones.

I added a stacked Simon Says Stamp Outline Floral Cross die cut and a Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Faith sentiment.

A fun way to use a larger scrap on a card is to stamp across it and a notecard to make a continuous pattern. This makes the scrap look like it was made just for that card. And I am really liking this Simon Says Stamp Outline Leaves Stamp!

I added a stacked Simon Says Stamp I Adore You die cut for the sentiment. Sweet and simple.

I also enjoy using scraps to do paper piecing of stamped images. This card showcases the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Tulip Bouquet Stamp Set and Simon Says Stamp Outline Leaves Stamp.

Loving that texture…
