Video: Window Shaker Card + Blog Hop + Giveaway

Happy New Year! I hope it is a wonderful one for each and every one of you.

Today I have a video showing how to create a window shaker card along with a fun blog hop.

I am still enjoying the shaker card trend… but like to make mine a bit different to keep me interested. For this card, I decided to create a window shaker that is clear all the way through the card.

I used many products from this month’s Hero Arts My Monthly Kit. (More on that below.) I really like the fun of the scallop heart die. However, if you don’t have this set, you could use any stacking heart die set.

I also used the Hero Arts Love Die on the front… cut from silver glitter paper. Such a great die (that comes with a stamp set, too).

It is difficult to explain in words how to create that shaker window, so be sure to watch the video.

I made a flat shaker because I don’t want the sequins moving too much and falling to the bottom… and I didn’t want the added bulk. Isn’t that see-through shaker fun?

HERO ARTS KIT

For this kit, I used lots of products from January’s Hero Arts My Monthly Kit. The full kit contains: two 3×4″ stamp sets, three dies (including two paper layering dies), 2 ink cubes, an exclusive mix of sequins created by Lucy Abrams, gorgeous vellum with iridescent speckles, acetate, cards and envelopes.

The kit costs $29.99 which is a great deal for all of this! There is also an add-on die set available which includes the Valentine word and small hearts dies. (In the video I mentioned this incorrectly. Sorry!) And, by the way, the kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. Hurry!

BLOG HOP

This post is part of a blog hop to celebrate this new kit from Hero Arts. The next stop on the hop is the wonderfully talented Yana Smakula. You can find here HERE, or start at the beginning of the hop on the Hero Arts blog.

  2. Great Idea, Jennifer on the see-through-to-the-back card. I’m hoping to make cards in multiples of 4 each time I start a new one. Made it through first set (“Let it Snow”) and hope to keep going!
