Here I am sharing my My Favorite Crafty Things: Embellishments. This includes all kinds of goodies that have my heart captured. Of course, this list would change over time as new things come out. But these? These are my favorites right now…

I can’t seem to make a card without scattering a few gems or pearls on it. So I was thrilled to see these Enamel Dots from My Mind’s Eye. Aren’t they delicious? Smooth as can be and gorgeous colors…

It is always fun to add a “different” texture to a card – such as wood. And the Wood Veneer from Studio Calico is just perfect. They are easy to color with any inks or markers. Here are my favorites… (I just love the new letter set!)

Another great way to add some WOW to your card is with a touch of metal. I really enjoy both the Tim Holtz Mirrored Sheets (perfectly mirror-like, self-adhesive and a bit thick) and Ranger Foil Sheets (thin and shiny like aluminum foil, but adhesive backed). These products can even be colored with permanent markers, Copics or alcohol ink. You can see a video on both of these products HERE. These are must-haves…

Sometimes the best way to embellish a card is with a bit of shine. And my favorite? Glitter Ritz. This is SUPER fine. After you shake it on the double-sided tape, just burnish it in place and it becomes velvety and will stay put. No mess in the envelope! And it ends up so smooth that you can stamp on it. You don’t need a ton of colors – just ones you know you will use often. But be sure to grab the Stardust (it looks like microfine vintage silver glitter) and the Warm or Cool Highlights (clear with just a bit of shine). So fun…

There are three pens that you must have to add fun touches and “faux embellishments” – the Uniball White and Silver Pens (both are bold on dark papers) and the Stardust Glitter Pen (great for subtle added shine). Inexpensive and awesome.

I will admit: I am currently 100% addicted to 6×6 paper pads. In fact, I don’t buy 12×12 patterned papers anymore! The size is just so much easier to work with and the smaller scale patterns are better for card makers. You can see all the 6×6 paper pads SSS has to offer HERE, but I also wanted to mention my favorites – My Mind’s Eye, BasicGrey and Echo Park. They make my heart flutter. Truly.

And finally, I had a few random goodies to mention. First are the heart and star border punches that I just can’t seem to get enough of. I use them A LOT to make little paper embellishments to scatter on cards. Another tool I like right now is the Ranger Water Brush – super high quality. And my last random embellishment of today? The May Arts Chevron Ribbon. It is SO so so very nice.
