Enabling, anyone?

Hello, all.  Hope everyone is good.

I am here with one big purpose.

I am here to enable.

Yes.  I am speaking to you.  All you cardmakers out there.

You must go buy these.  You must.

6×6 BasicGrey paper pads.

They currently have a permanent spot within arm's reach on my counter.  I lovey them.  I do believe they are my bestest friends at the moment.

In the past, I have had a hard time using BG papers.  I buy them.  I hoard them.  I love them.  But when it comes to papers with distress, I simply freeze.  I don't know how to use them, as much as I love them.  Ask Jana – this is the truth.

But then, I met Mr. 6×6 Paper Pads.  These have BG's fab patterns on a smaller scale.  And they are so easy to use.  They are incredible.

My faves?  Here they are…

67199  67055  67127

Bonus: many of them are 20% off at 2peas right now!  Woohoo.  Click on them to be linked.

Here is a card I did today using some of the BG goodness.  It was inspired by THIS card by Renee Camacho.

Basic Grey
Supplies:
Basic Grey 6×6 paper pad
Basic Grey chipboard
Hero Arts buttons and notecard
Cuttlebug
Stampin' Up label punch
Pop dots
Papertrey Ink alphabet stamps (LOVE these!)

And if you don't buy them because they are so gorgeous, buy them because Kelly Goree works for BG.  She is the sweetest thing.  A gem.

I almost forgot to post the winner of the Studio Calico stamp.  It's Ally!  I will email you. 🙂

OK… off to watch Grey's Anatomy.  Hoping that the season starts to get better.  Oh, and if Obama or McCain or Sarah call one more time, I may lose my mind.  I currently am not loving living in Ohio.  Ha.

NIght!

  1. Too late to enable – I already have a big stack (including 2 of the 3 you featured above). They look so great – I love how there are a range of “plain” distressed papers in colours that co-ordinate with the more patterned designs. And your inspired by card has definitely inpired me…I think I’ll be trying that out this weekend!

  2. I don’t *NEED* any enabling when it comes to Basic Grey 6×6 pads. Oof…I have them stacked right on my table…just loooove them! Urban Prairie is my current fav. I’d almost marry it…if I weren’t already married and if it weren’t an inanimate paper pack…other than that? We’re a match made in heaven! teehee

  3. Wow!! Just WOW!! Absolutely gorgeous Jennifer!! You’re making me wish I hadn’t passed up the 6×6’s. My Mom bought 2… I hope she checks in on your blog. Whoever you ‘smooch’ is a lucky person. 🙂

This card is smoking hot! These colors pop blended all together. Thanks for enabling me.

I am making meals tomorrow and picking up our Christmas portraits for our 2008 cards.
Off to a great start on the weekend.

    Thanks for sharing!!!

  5. I am SO in agreement with you on hoarding the BS. Totally guilty. Love this card!! Simply beautiful.
And I love your enabling…I’m a good victim!

  6. How dare you enable me at this time of night when I have nothing to do but shop online or go to bed! 😉 Just kidding…I love these pads already too! Yum. The card rocks…has a funky-cool-yet-sweet vibe. Love it!

  7. i’m with you on hoarding/using basic grey papers! i have a hard time with most of them. but the smaller scaled patterns are so nice! love your card … those are a few of my favorite BG papers!

  8. I have three of these. I do love them too!! BG has all good things.

I have to share with you that i’m opening my Etsy shop today at noon!! I’m so excited about it. Please please please check it out. It’s linked on my blog post for the morning. Toodles dear!

  9. Simply stunning – and hey I dont need any encouragement……I’m hopeless……LOL.

    Thanks for sharing.

  10. Bless your heart, I can “share your pain” about the phone calls. I live in another battleground state…North Carolina. Doesn’t it seem like this campaign has gone on forever? I’ve already voted, along with thousands of others here. The turnout is really incredible…but I guess how you feel about it depends on who you voted for!

  11. Just added this to my cart, along with the Bazzill paper you told us about. Reading your blog is becoming expensive!:)- but oh, so much fun!!!!! TFS

  12. Hi Jennifer, I read your blog every single day and I love your blog, your writing, your cards and your tutorials – EVERYTHING -to BITS!! I’m a big fan of yours!! 🙂 Love this card! And I’m also a big fan of BG papers – thanks so much for always providing such good information on your blog! 🙂

  13. Have I told you I love you? You and Rene Comacho on one page with my coffee in the morning…it just doesn’t get much better. I have been a huge fan of Rene’s since she had first started posting on Peas all those years ago. I just found her Flickr page and I can’t say THANK YOU enough.

What a GOOD way to start the day. :)THANKS!

  14. You can’t get me on this one because I already have most of them! LOL!!! The best thing to happen to cardmaking! I love your card!

  15. I love the 6×6 pads!!! I have the same problem with the big papers.. with an added problem.. I don’t want to chop them up and then they are too big for what I want to do!!!

So I went to 2peas to shop and they are sold out of the Wassail! Darn it! Which ones are the ones you have pictured? I have old lady eyes and can’t read any print…

Beautiful card and congrats to the lucky winner!!!

  16. Hi Jennifer! I love the 6×6 paper pads, but have overlooked the BG ones…How? I don’t really know! They are definitely on my list now. I live in OH too but somehow have missed all the political phone calls…Darn! (NOT!) I look forward to watching Grey’s Anatomy every Thursday…I’m not too sure about Cally though.

  17. You don’t have to sell me on the goodness of the BG 6×6 pads…I think they are AMAZING and I use them ALL THE TIME! Love that the patterns are smaller and so perfectly sized for cards. I have been having so much fun with the Ambrosia line for Halloween. Also, Michael’s has started to carry about 3 or 4 of these pads too. I totally love the Boxer line for manly-man cards.

  18. I know exactly what you mean about BG 12×12 (gorgeous) papers. I also buy them because they are beautiful but I only use my 6×6 for pages, especially since I do more 8.5×11 pages than 12×12. They are also great for minis.
This card (as always) is gorgeous.
    TFS
    Dayami 😉
