National Scrapbooking Day Giveaway!

Hello!  Hope you are all having a great National Scrapbooking Day.  I know there are fun things going on over at 2Peas and the Hero Arts blog.  However, I am stuck on the sofa – about as useful as a dried up ink pad.  I have pleurisy – a infection of the lining of the lungs or something-or-other.  I am getting really bored sitting around, so I thought I would hop on the computer and do a RAK. Can’t think of a better way to cheer myself up while on the sofa!  (OK, yes, I already did a little Etsy shopping. 🙂

Here is what I am giving away to celebrate NSD!  Sorry for the bad picture – not feeling up to doing anything more involved than this photo with my mac’s photo booth. 🙂  The prize is for a set of Autumn Leaves alphabet clear stamps (they are big ones – there are two sheets of stamps here!), a Colorbox Chalk Ink Queue and a pack of the newest Hero Arts Smooth Clear Gems.  Just leave a comment here on this thread by Sunday at 11:59pmEDT to be entered and I will randomly pick a winner.  (Yes, I would be happy to ship overseas!)  In your comment, I would love to hear any suggestions you may have for future video or how-to topics.  I am enjoying doing the videos so much.  The favorite part of my job is teaching. And since I significantly cut back on travel, I miss teaching a lot!  This is a good way for me to get my fix. 🙂

Be sure to check out 2Peas today… they have lots going on for NSD.  And Hero Arts will have giveaways on their blog.  Be sure to visit!

In the meantime, here is a project I did for 2Peas.  Click HERE for details.

Have a good one… more tomorrow. 🙂

  1. Sorry you are ill, I have heard that is NOT the thing to get, hurts a lot….so sad for you….I have made cards for years, but am ALWAYS looking for masculine cards!!! Help from WCH OH!

  2. Hope you are feeling better very soon Jennifer!! Sending healing hugs from Australia to you.
I would love to see a video on interactive cards/scrapbook pages.

  3. Jennifer,
So sorry to hear that you are feeling so bad. The sofa can be such a boring place. I just love the video’s that I have seen so far and am working my way through your older posts – I have only found your site in the last month. I would love to see more, bit what of you ask? Well I am not sure, the stamp a majig was great for keeping my titles straight. I think so cards for the men in our lives would be great, I am always having trouble with those. Also some of how you manage to make all the papers that you use – are they versamark and how do you keep the patterns so even.
Have a lovely day and hoping that you feel better soon.

  4. Hope your feeling better real soon. Lovely giveaway! 🙂 I don’t really have any new ideas for you to video sorry. But I do really enjoy what I’ve seen on your blog .. very inspiring. Tips and tricks to different tools/inks maybe?

  5. Im sick too! ;( Hope you are feeling better today.
I was actually going to suggest a Cuttlebug video but you just did one 😉
So I guess my suggestion is DONT STOP MAKING VIDEOS, please!!!
    Loving the goodies too.
    Thank you 😉

  6. Love that layout. I have so many close ups of all my kids I think I am inspired by this and want to create something like it.
I love all videos. I think my biggest thing I want to learn right now is embossing. I am not really familiar with it, so I would love a video on that.

    Thanks.
    Nicole M.

  7. I’m sorry you are feeling so bad…..Must be something going around….as I have the same thing! It pretty much debilitates you….
Hope you get to feeling better soon!
How sweet of you to do an awesome RAK when you aren’t feeling well..

  8. Hi Jennifer!
So sorry that you are sick…glad you are taking care of yourself and enjoying the day a little by ETSY shopping, but I’ll be glad when you are all better.
I love your videos! You really are the Tips and Techniques expert…. like the tip I picked up from your last video about using a notch punch to make a beautiful scalloped edge. Just show what you do to make a project, and I’ll probably learn something new or a new way to use something I aleady have!
This is so sweet of you to have a Give-away that includes your international fans, too!

  9. Oh, I’m so sorry to hear you’re sick … I hope you feel better soon. Your videos are great …

  10. Your videos are so helpful. I would love to see a tutorial on how you create photo collages in Photoshop.

  11. I love your videos. I loved the one with the Cuttlebug embossing . I can’t wait to try using clear embossing powder on mine. Great idea! How about a video showing ideas for flocking.

  12. Jennifer, that is one adorable layout (and face!) Pleurisy…yikes that does *not* sound like a fun way to spend NSD…hope you are able to be up off that couch and feeling better soon! I think a little more Etsy sounds like an appropriate prescription for wellness. 😉 As for the videos, you can do no wrong, girl. Hmmm…what about one on using eyelets…something I have so many of but never use anymore…I bet you could come up with something amazing to make them look fresh and new again!

  13. Darn, I hope you’re feeling better today. Being the mom and being sick does not make for a fun combination. As for the videos, I have been basically a stamp collector and a basic stamper (read: ink it and stamp it and be done) – not very exciting. So ANY tips are fun for me to see – anything that makes me want to do more than just ink up my stamps and plunk them down, you know? I’m anxiously awaiting your next video! :o)

  14. Love your blog and all your videos. I particularly like your Cuttlebug ideas and the cards you made using the embossing folders (4/19).

  15. I would love to know how to layer stamps…I feel like they really good when talented people like you put like two stamps on top of each other in some way but I am not smart enough to know which ones would look good together or how to do that. Does that make sense? A video on that would= happiness in my heart!

  16. Hope you feel better soon! I love all of your work and am especially enjoying your videos. One video that I would love to see that doesn’t involve stamping is a video showing how you resize your pics on photoshop or other software. I love the different sizes of your pics, but am having problems resizing them using photoshop elements.

  17. Happy NSD weekend!!!!!! My daughters birthday is the 1st so we always celabrate it the same weekend. Never get to go to nsd events so… this would be my celebration!!

  18. Wishing you a very speedy recovery!
Thanks for all your how-to videos and card inspiration. I especially liked your cuttlebug heat embossing tutorial. I would love to see more card making techniques. Thanks for a chance to win!

  19. So sorry to hear about the pleurisy. I’ve had it before and it’s not fun. Hope you’re better soon! If possible, I would like to see a turtorial on color shading. I never know where to put my lighter and darker colors.

  20. Hope you are feeling better. Thanks for all your tips!! No video ideas, just love watching them. Helps with the inspiration in my creative blockage!

  21. I’m an enbabler to my daughter and daughter-in-law; seeing you use products I know they don’t have is making it a little easier to give them gifts for fun, birthdays, and for stocking stuffers at Christmas. As you are having a quick recovery you can dream up all sorts of things to share in your video….it’s been fun to watch and learn. So glad you’re sharing your talent in this blog!

  22. Sorry you’re out of funk. I hate being sick-especially since being the “Mommy” usually means I’m the one who has to baby me (because DH has his hands full just trying to do my job with the kids & the house). Anyway, I love watching your videos. How about doing a video using a lot the things we buy (because we just gotta have it- like Tim Holtz’s alchohol inks LOL) in a variety of ways. I know I have a bunch of stuff I tend to hoard and then I have things I haven’t used because I have no idea how to use it in scrapbooking and cardmaking-it’s that initial “what-am-I-gona-do-now” moment that intimidates me!

  23. Sorry you’re not feeling well!

As for your videos, I enjoyed every one you did so far! I love to see new techniques! Thanks for a chance at the gift!

    Louise C.

  24. MMMmmmm not sure of the time difference but I think I might have missed the draw. Happy ISD (international scrapbook day!!)

    Lou

  25. Hope you feel better. I loved your last video. I was thinking of some videos you could do. 1. How you organize things in your scraproom. I have seen your scraproom on two peas and thought your paper storage idea was cool. On the latest video you showed how you store clear embossing powder. Maybe there are some other ideas you might have in your scrapbooking room. 2. I was thinking you could go over an idea or two on all the CK tips and techniques you have done over the past years on video. One idea is your two most favorite ones. 3. Even though they are old hat to you I like seeing stamping techniques. I remember attending a Hero Arts class at MOA and I believe Tracy Kyle was there with you showing different stamping techniques. It was so inspirational. These are just a couple ideas that came to mind for video blogs.

  26. Hi, Jennifer,

I’m not posting for a giveaway–just wanted to say that this layout is amazing! I went to 2Peas to look at it closely. All I can say is WOW!

  27. Happy NSD! I love your Copic tips for a suggestion on a tutorial. Hope you get well soon!
