A Good Cause (a post from my son)

Thank you everyone for the generous donations! He was able to raise a large amount of money for LLS! Donations are no longer being taken by Colin, but feel free to donate on your own if you like.

Hi, my name is Colin McGuire, and I am raising money for LLS, which is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My friends and I have teamed up in a competition of schools nationwide to raise as much money as possible. The campaign ends on April 7 (soon!), and all donations are very greatly appreciated. You can donate HERE.

Since my mom has many great crafting friends, she said we could gifts for some crafters who donate:

  • Anyone who gives ANY amount will be entered into a raffle to win handmade cards, crafty stickers, and huge boxes of stamps and dies!
  • Anyone who donates $100+ will get a handmade card made by my mom.
  • I will be packing and sending these after the fundraiser closes.

If you are interested, you must do the following:

  • Make a donation HERE.
  • Take a screen shot of your donation including the amount (if over $100).
  • Email the screen shot along with your name and address. (This is the only way we can know you donated.)
  • (If you would prefer, you can forward your donation email receipt.)

You will hear back from me to let you know we have received your email and entered you into the raffle. Please be patient as I have school, baseball, and Young Life, too.  After April 7th, I will contact the winners from the raffle.

If you donate $100, you will get a handmade card made by my mom. I have no idea how many people will be eligible for this, so please be patient for these to be made and sent out, too.

And big shout-out to Pinkfresh Studio, Altenew, my mom, Hero Arts, Concord & 9th, Ink Blot Shop, Gina K Designs, Simon Says Stamp, Lawn Fawn, Erin Lee Creative, Honey Bee Stamps, and Scrapbook and Cards Today for donating, too! I guess this is why my mom says this industry is so good.

Thank you so much. I know there are many horrific things happening in this world right now. Sending up prayers for all.

Colin, age 16

    I follow JMINK routinely……..
As an RN, I donate to Cancer research as often as possible………….

  6. You are doing such great work Colin! Even with other commitments like sports, church etc, you and your friends are taking time to raise money for an amazing cause. Keep up the good work!

  7. Colin, I was in Young Life when I was 16, which was more than 3 years ago (I always say anything was more than 3 years ago because law school is 3. years and I went to law school and that just blurred everything). I made my donation in honor of a couple from my church who both died of blood cancer about 20 years apart though. Let us know how your team does!

  8. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. Good for you, Colin! Your mama raised you well. And good for mama. BTW, I have a son named Colin too. <3

  9. Hi Colin, this is so wonderful! You must be a great kid to work so hard to help others. I, for one, truly appreciate your hard work. I have lymphoma and currently thank the Lord, I am in remission. Cancer is so difficult and when someone like you steps up to help it really brightens the hard days for those walking that road. Someday I would like to meet you and give you a great big hug! Oh I know boys aren’t into all that mushy stuff. But from the bottom of my heart “THANK YOU!” Lisa Cox

  10. My grandmother whom I adored died from a blood cancer. So glad to donate. Thxs for doing this, Colin.

  16. Thank you, Colin! This is so close to my heart. My husband had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 13 years ago. He had a bone marrow transplant and has been cancer free since. I hope you raised the most!

  17. What a great cause. I belong to an organization called the ChemoAngels where we support folks going thru chemo therapy. I have angeled a number of kids going thru leukemia. I was on vacation and missed your cause 🙁 I hope you raised lots of money. Thank you for doing this, for your school doing this. This will help so many folks.
