  1. Hello! Is anyone having trouble with this technique? I am using the same laminator, the same ink (Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink), and some laminating pouches I have used in the past. I stamped, waited a full 20 minutes for the laminator to get hot and then I dried the ink with my heat gun, just a bit. And still, the ink went all over the place. Any tips??

P.s. I live in the Caribbean. Could the humid temperature a factor?

    1. So glad to hear you are having this issue as well. I hope Jennifer answer’s one of us soon. Such a beautiful look for a card.

  2. Jennifer, I love this technique but i could not, for the life of me, get it to work. I used SU white pigment ink, dried it with a heat gun and when it went through the laminator, the ink just got squished and smeared! I tried it again with Altenew black and gold pigment inks and still the same results. What am I doing wrong – I would love to make Christmas cards with this wonderful technique.

    Looking forward to your help,
    Carrie

  3. Yes, PLEASE HELP Jennifer! Tried all of the suggestions you have already provided but nothing works and all I get is a big smeary “blob”. I am in Hawaii so do you think our humidity is the cause? Too bad as this is such an awesome technique!

  4. No, that could not be because of humidity! I live in Germany, near the mountains, there isn’t much humidity. This technique doesn’t work

  5. If anyone is still struggling with this technique, I just wanted to share that it turns out my laminator’s heating element was broken/defective. Purchased a simple Scotch (TL902) from Target for $21.99 and SUCCESS! Hooray!

      1. I tried this laminator as well, still getting a blob of ink. Very frustrating,. Tried pigment and dye ink zero success. Tried the light heat gun approach as well as allowing the stamp to dry for more than an hour. Again zero success. Any suggestions would truly be appreciated. – Paula

  6. I used all of the suggested techniques and laminator, yet my stamping still streaks when run through the laminator. Would appreciate any tips or suggestions to avoid streaking/melting of the stamped image. Many thanks in advance. _ Paula Golladay.

  7. I finished making 25 of these cards today…the first one with the entire card being laminated and the embossed snowflake on the front. I used my Minc to laminate them. However…I have an old laminator (I’m talking 20 years old) and it’s cheap and it worked fine. I used Close to My Heart Pigment Ink…some I used Colonial White and some I used Vanilla Cream. I used deep red for the top layer of snowflake circle…with spruce green for bottom circle. I did as Jennifer suggests and after laminating and folding (burnishing) I ran it back through the laminator to make it lie flat. I cannot believe how beautiful they’ve turned out. Can’t wait to get them in the mail. It does help to make sure the pigment ink isn’t too “juicy” but also…you need enough to cover the stamp image well. I cut the laminating sheets vertically down the middle. Therefore I got 2 cards out of each sheet. I also did enclose the entire sheet inside a piece of folded paper when running it through the laminator. I sure hope those who have commented can figure out what’s going wrong. I can certainly say this process works beautifully. But it could be that everything just came together for me. The heat of the laminator, the ink I used, the paper enclosing the sheet of laminating paper…
