Tim Holtz just released the NEWEST color of his Distress Ink line… Speckled Egg! It is my favorite by far. My whole house is decorated in this color. After showing a look at it, I demonstrate a unique stencil technique. Be sure to watch the video to learn more!

  27. I am a lover of blue as well Jennifer. This is such a soft & elegant shade & it would be a fabulous addition to my small ink collection. I don’t have enough shades in one line of ink to do proper blending of some products, so this would be perfect. I love the tip of using the baby wipe on top of the stencil – again that soft elegant look.

  33. I am always so impressed with all the creative ways and ideas you have come up with to create so many beautiful cards. I’m eager to try this removal technique. It’s so obvious I am kicking myself for the backward way I have been doing it in the past. In H.S. my Trig. teachers said that if the problem took 3 steps I’d solve it in 15… But I would get there. I guess Im still taking the long route. But Ive create some incredible ” Accidents” along the way. Thanks for sharing yet another great YouTube!

  45. Hi, Jennifer, thanks for this—and all of your interesting, helpful—technique.

    I did some experimenting with it, while I procrastinated on catching up on my homework from OCC. I thought you might be interested in my results:

    1) I started with Mustard Seed on my paper. I then added a blue ink to the baby wipe, which did exactly as expected in that it turned the raised areas green. There were some “halos” around the images, but I believe those can be adjusted by the dampness of the wipe/paper towel.

    2) I did some other tests, but no really helpful results except one. I missed the wipe with your shimmer water (perfect pearls mix). This yielded a really interesting and beautiful result. Of course you see the shine on the raised areas, but this was the only example where the texture of the wipe was also transferred visibly. It’s really subtle, but beautiful.

    You’ve probably tried this by now, but in case not, I thought I’d give my results. I haven’t finished testing the new delivery method, but wanted to give a quick update 🙂

  48. Hi Jennifer. What a great technique. Of course a baby wipe would work with distress ink…just never thought of it. Funny, saw Tim’s video: he was introducing the Speckled Egg inks. He’s always so much fun to watch. At the end he mentioned he had packages of the product to send out. Had a feeling you were one of those friends!! Anyway, thanks so much for all your great videos and cards. So inspired and grateful!
