Using Scraps Creatively

Hello! I have a hard time giving up those tiny stamped, inked, and patterned papers that I have left over when card making. So today is all about putting them to use creatively!

  1. I had watched one of your previous videos on this technique and always love making cards from my scraps. It certainly gives me a lesson in COLOR and coordinating them into a project. Last week I had taken my scraps and made 80 cards to donate to our local hospital for the volunteers to distribute to their patients. I love them all! This video gives me even more ideas to use, THANK YOU Jennifer for your continued support for the stamping world and your awesome ideas and videos!!

  2. Wow Jennifer, what a great cards with leftovers! Stunning ideas, I love the one with the feathers, it brought me up to a idea of die cutting leaves from all kind of greenish leftover pieces.
Thank you so much for this awesome video and have a great weekend.

  3. Love the cards you make. They always look so beautiful and professional. I was wondering if you could do a video on how you store your scraps. I would LOVE to see how you store them so that I can get some ideas. I get so many and they just get put aside and then lost in a big pile! Thanks!

  4. Thanks for another great video, Jennifer, and for showing us more ways to use our scraps. I agree that it would be nice to see how you store your scraps. I’d also like to know how you store your foils. Thanks for all the time and energy you spend teaching us mere mortals. 🙂

  5. You are endless inspiration!!! Thank you for your excellent videos and creativity! Makes me happy watching them and I want ALL the products you use! 🙂

  6. YNS is one of my favourite companies. I love that you feature this awesome Canadian stamp company. Every time you do it makes my heart smile because I can just imagine how much it means to them to have you feature their products. Thank you for all you do to promote amazing small businesses!

  7. Another winner, Jennifer! I get so excited when I see that you have posted a video! Because of you, I have been saving all of my scraps and now have some ideas on what to do with them. I love these cards!! I, too, would like to see how you store them!!

  8. Your “scraps” are beautiful… and I learned lots from your video on ways to make beautiful cards with them. Honestly, you could start your own line of patterned papers. I’d buy your “scraps” any day!

  9. Appreciate more ideas on how to create with paper. I struggle with using scraps and failed projects. You provide us with endless inspiration. Many thanks.

  10. Ahh, I love that leaf die! The fact that it is discontinued is sad. BUT I found one of two remaining dies at Scrapbook.com and it’s on its way to me. Yea! Your cards give me such wonderful ideas. Thank you, Jennifer. 🙂

  11. Love how you show us how to use ALL of our craft supplies down to the tiny piece – and the results are amazing!

  12. If I could see what’s going on in your brain, I think I’d see swirling colors and techniques and shapes and ideas and tips and things that haven’t even been “thunk” yet! Thanks so much for pulling on threads from that colorful swirling potpourri and pulling out endless projects and tips for us! You’re the best!

  13. I really liked the difference that the recessed aspect of the border made. It was certainly much nicer than the glued on flat border.

  14. My dear Jennifer
Love this project but i never thought you kept the scraps. Lol. That shows how much you love crafting. I was in two minds whether to keep the scraps or throw and i am happy that i kept them. Thanks for the storing idea in color schemes. Would love to see how you keep your scraps. I really want to purchase the leaf die and the triangle die. Thanks a bunch for all the ideas and for taking time from your busy schedule to do this for us. Love you so much. May God bless you and your family with gd health and happiness always.

  15. I have a question, I like to make larger cards and often the background dies are too small, is their a a way to do something to increase their finished size?

  16. Oh I LOVED this video! You’ve made scraps look utterly beautiful, and as if they’re totally meant to be there <3 I have only kept occasional scraps as I have found too much clutter in my craft reflects the clutter in my mind. But I'm always thrilled when I can use a little scrap on a project – such satisfaction! I would really like to know how you store all your little scraps – you mentioned in colour families? Organisation is the key for me in my creativity and you seem to be the Queen of being organised! Hoping you do a little video showing your scrap storage/organisation, pretty pretty please 🙂

  17. Thanks for this reminder that there are so many ways to use scraps. I’m a scrap keeper too and often wonder if I’ll ever get to them. Thanks for the reminder to pull them out and use them.

  18. Judy Billar
I get so wrapped up in your videos! They are the highlight of my day and I learn so much that I apply to my
Cardmaking, I am so glad I found you! I can’t wait to try out the beautiful card with the two leaves on the front and the awesome shades green and blue. Thank you so much!

  19. Love, love your videos, I have a question how do your create that small highlight in the balloons? It adds so much to the cuteness of the card. Thanks
