Surprise Spinner Cards
Hello once again! Today I am sharing how to create a surprise spinner card. I have a few to share in hopes that you will try one for yourself.

Today’s cards have a fun surprise inside… a spinning element! This works great with small die cuts or stamped images, and I have three examples to demonstrate that. The video explains how these come together – be sure to watch it!
My first card looks complicated but it is quite simple. On the outside, I created a die cut panel with the new Hero Arts Garden Die (SSS | HA). I added stamped and colored images from the Hero Arts New Day Butterflies (SSS | HA) and Hero Arts Teacup Flowers (SSS | HA) Stamp Sets and a sentiment from the Hero Arts Mix and Match Compliments Stamp Set (SSS | HA).
All of the colored cardstocks I used today are from the new Hero Arts Hues collection (SSS | HA). You can buy the colors in individual color packs (SSS | HA) or instead try a sampler pack (SSS | HA). Oh – and I stamped the matching envelope with the new Hero Arts Hero Limited Edition Greetings Stamp Set (SSS | HA).
And when you open the card, a window pops up and a butterfly spins! I used all the same products on the inside… but be sure to watch the video to see how to assemble this.
My next card also has a surprise spinner feature inside, but is a square card. The outside features the Hero Arts Monarch Butterfly (SSS | HA), Hero Arts Flower Garden (SSS | HA), and Hero Arts Calla Lila Stamp Set (SSS | HA).
And when you open it? A spinning butterfly!
I used a simple circle die to create the window for the spinning.
My third example features mostly die cutting. On the front, I used the Hero Arts Flower Garden Die (SSS | HA) and the Hero Arts Hello Message Die (SSS | HA).
And when you open the card, a heart spins… with a different greeting on each side. In addition to the Hero Arts Flower Garden Die (SSS | HA), I used the Hero Arts Sending Smiles Stamp Set (SSS | HA) and Hero Arts Hearts Infinity Dies (SSS | HA).
By the way, I recommend using clear thread for the spinning feature. I couldn’t find mine, though, so I just used white.
