Turnabout Tips & Tricks

Hello. I am happy to be back from vacation and stamping once again. In this video, I share techniques for the new-and-improved Concord & 9th Turnabout stamps. But if you don’t have Turnabout stamps, no worries. I share lots of other fun tips and tricks, too!

One of the most innovative stamp products in the last few years is the Concord & 9th Turnabout product line. I have used them in many videos… be sure to check out my playlist HERE.

However, recently, Concord & 9th has released a bunch of new products that make turnabout stamping so very easy! These products include the new Concord & 9th Everyday Bouquet Turnabout Toolbox Kit (SSS | C9), the Concord & 9th Turnabout Jigs (SSS | C9), and the Concord & 9th Turnabout Alignment Pack. I show each in the video, so I encourage you to watch it. In addition, I use many of the new turnabout stamps, dies, and stencils.

My first card features the new Concord & 9th Birthday Basics Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9) along with colorful Altenew Inks. I added a balloon created with the Concord & 9th Birthday Basics Dies (SSS | C9).

To add the string to the balloon, I covered the string with Gina K Connect Glue until it was sticky. This allowed me to form it into any shape and hold it to the card perfectly.

Next up is the Concord & 9th Marbled Turnabout Stamp (SSS | C9). What an awesome stamp! After stamping it with pool inks, I used a banner die from the Concord & 9th Everyday Bouquet Turnabout Toolbox Kit (SSS | C9) to create a window on the front of a card with acetate sandwiched between.

On the front of the acetate, I glued the letters from the “thanks” Concord & 9th Everyday Bouquet Turnabout Toolbox Kit (SSS | C9) die, along with a Simon Says Stamp Big Thanks Word Stamp Set sentiment strip and gems. I also glued silver “thanks” letters inside of the card… lining them up on the letters on the front. I love the surprise inside!

Here is another card using the Concord & 9th Marbled Turnabout Stamp (SSS | C9), but this time with a bit of silver heat embossing. I LOVE this look!

The sentiment banner is from the Concord & 9th Hello Sunshine Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9) and Dies (SSS | C9). The flowers and leaves are such fun… and created with the dies in the Concord & 9th Everyday Bouquet Turnabout Toolbox Kit (SSS | C9).

I also really like the Concord & 9th Hello Sunshine Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9) and Dies (SSS | C9). These two can be used together and separately. On my first card, I used them together along with glitter paper for a stamping and die-cut-inlay combo.

And on this card, I used the Concord & 9th Hello Sunshine Turnabout Die (SSS | C9) alone. Such a cool look! The sentiment is from the Concord & 9th Hello Sunshine Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9) … and I colored my pearls with Copic Markers.

My last set of cards features the Concord & 9th Stitched Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9). I added a banner from the Concord & 9th Hello Sunshine Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9) and a sentiment from the Concord & 9th Everyday Bouquet Turnabout Toolbox Kit (SSS | C9).

This next card features two fun techniques. First, the heart is actually a mini card that opens to reveal more of the greeting! I created the heart with the Concord & 9th Stitched Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9) and Quilted Heart Die Set (SSS | C9).

Second, I did a fun uneven dimension technique on the banner behind the heart. Be sure to watch the video! The banner is from the Concord & 9th Everyday Bouquet Turnabout Toolbox Kit (SSS | C9).

My last card is a simple one… and uses only the Concord & 9th Stitched Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9). I like that this set allows you to create a background frame, circle element, or a combination of both.

This set gives an amazing stitched look!

I hope this video was helpful. And a big shout out to Concord & 9th for their creativity! I don’t work for them, but rather admire them and their products. Good people!

  1. Jennifer you did a beautiful job on your video , right down to the cute paper tricks you showed . I don’t own one Turn About stamp set and I STILL had to stop and watch your magic 🙂 , your really seriously talented Friend !

  2. Something else I don’t have to buy BUT now that I’ve seen all you did with the tool kit – I need it! Gosh, you are really good!

  3. Loved everything! Now I want to play with them myself. Lots of really great tips. You did an amazing job. Thank you for sharing your art.🐧

  4. Awesome cards Jennifer. I wish I could afford them all. Welcome home by the way. I hope you received some great relaxing time.

  5. Totally fun and fab cards! Please, please don’t apologize for making so many cards! We all love them and the more examples the better. Anyone who doesn’t want to watch a long video can see them all on your blog anyway!

  6. Well, once again you’ve gone over the top with your informative video! Loved all the tips and tricks you’ve shown as you’ve used these turnabouts. Love the gold card with the turnabout die! Very special, just like you. Thanks so much.

  7. Love your video – had already bought the tool kit – have other turnabout stamps and just love them!!!

  8. Love the gold rays of the sun that you in-layed. I love your videos and even if you think they are long, I could listen and watch even longer. Thank You so much!

  9. Concord and 9th is a fabulous company and have great products! For me, the price point is a little spendy to buy the die and stamps for a set. Loved all the cards you created with each set, they were fabulous as always!

  10. Jennifer, your cards are fabulous–your video awesome. I so appreciate seeing all the ways you’ve used these turnabout products. As the for turnabout kit–what a great idea! Your creativity with these Concord and 9th products has given me such wonderful ideas for my own crafting. tfs

  11. I haven’t tried this turn about stamps, but it looks amazing. Thanks for sharing and for your wonderful videos. I wish I could meet you, since I live in Phoenix, but alas, I’m not in the CHA business. I pray you can feel comfortable and not as anxious. Crafters are such wonderful peeps!

  12. I love turnabout stamps too but I prefer to make multiple, identical cards at once, rather than one card at a time. That means a lot of cleaning off of the stamp with turnabouts, which I don’t love. With the new tools, I wondered if it would be worth getting more than one jig. Then I could stamp multiple cards with the same color before turning and cleaning the stamp. Do you think that would work well or am I missing something?

    1. I’m not Jennifer, but it sounds to me like this would work. You’d just have to be careful lining up your papers in the same spot on your multiple jigs. I just bought the Concord & 9th jig but after reading your idea will probably use it along with my homemade jig made of cardstock and covered with clear Mac-Tac.

  13. Jennifer – your video was so interesting and inspiring. Love these cards. I haven’t got a turnabout stamp set – but I’m very tempted now – especially love the marble set – with embossing powders – it’s fabulous!!

  14. Thank you for the fabulous video. I have a number of the turnabout stamps and have had to really work at placement, this will be so nice to have. Place my order.

  15. Jennifer,I was wondering if you tried using cake collars for acetate windows on cards? If not do you think it would work?

  16. I too love the Turnabout Stamps and am so excited to see the alignment guides & jigs – just bought them both! Your cards are as always gorgeous & the hints wonderful. I have never once thought a video was too long – I’m more than willing to watch & listen for as long as you’re willing to show & talk… Thank you again…!

  17. This is excellent! I love Turnabout stamps, but could never master them. With this new system I am sure I can! Thanks for this wonderful video, you always make everything so clear!

  18. I love these longer videos. Just can’t get enough of learning from you! So much to learn, too! I especially love the marble thank you card, the way it opens up with silver letters inside. Reminds me of the magic cards that add color when you pull out the tab. Very clever and beautiful, indeed! Thank you!

  19. I love all your cards! I have these turnabout stamps and the kit on order so I can hardly wait for them to arrive so that I can play. I love all your ideas and color combos that you used. Thanks for the inspiration.

  20. Jennifer,
Love the new stencil set by Concord & 9th and already ordered it. Your cards came out beautiful and the layout and the jig are perfect tools to make them. Thank you for all your tips especially with the string and the liquid glue.

  21. Jennifer, you are awesome. I understand why you may be having a difficult time getting back into the swing of making videos. I think it would be a very difficult, taxing job at times. (I guess kind of like most jobs) So many of us love watching the videos you make and I want to tell you how much we appreciate you. Thank you!!!

  22. Jennifer, this was a fantastic video and I did not care how long it was. Lady, you could sell me the Brooklyn Bridge and I would probably buy two! Thank you for the string and window tips…super great.

  23. Hi Jennifer I didn’t too well on my first attempt at a turn-about stamp card last year. I don’t know why I found it to be difficult, but I am willing to try again. You always inspire me – thank you. And I just wanted you to know, just because you may have made a video in the past about a certain topic, it’s ok to repeat and repeat. We love them!

I would like to make a request if you would share a video on washy paper and vellum. I purchased some and I don’t know how to use them. The washy paper is sticky and I know it will be fun to work with. Thank you and hope you have a great week.

  24. Thanks for this fabulous video, I love the look of the turn about stamps and wish I could get some of them. I’m on a spending diet for crafting supplies though, but maybe some day I’ll be able to get some of them. These cards are all wonderful and the techniques used are fabulous. Thanks for always including so much in each video and for the little tips, like the glue on the string for the balloon.

  25. What a blessing and inspiration you are, Jennifer!! Oh my word…this is so innovative! I’ve yet to purchase the turnabout stamps but looks like they will go on my wish list! Your videos are always so awesome and never, ever apologize for the length. I love each and every one of them!!

  26. What a blessing and inspiration you are, Jennifer!! Oh my word…this is so innovative! I’ve yet to purchase the turnabout stamps but looks like they will go on my wish list! Your videos are always so awesome and never, ever apologize for the length. I love each and every one of them!!

  27. Thanks for another video with lots of ideas! I love how you give tips on how to use what we may already have in our stock (maybe a version of). I am so excited about these new Concord & 9th turnabout stamps! Your ideas have excited me even more! I agree, never apologize for the length, I truly look forward to seeing your emails in my inbox!

  28. Thank you for sharing this video! I just love the cards you made. 🙂 I especially love the Hello Sunshine Turnabout Set. I think I need to add a few more turnabouts to my supplies!

  29. Great samples Jennifer. This jig system with the stamps really took card making up a notch. This way we can all make fantastic cards. Thanks for sharing this video with us.

  30. Thank you so much for all the great ideas and information!!! I have a few different turnabout stamp sets, but just didn’t take the time to get them set up with a jig (which I really appreciated all the information you’d shared before about that process!) Now I guess I need to decide whether to wait for their jig to be back in stock or use the previous information you’ve shared! It’s so nice to have options!

  31. Great, great video Jennifer, what a work did you have to learn us all about the gorgeous turnabouts from Concord & 9th.Love all your examples and tips but I was completely excited about the new Turnabout Stencils, that is so stunning! Price wise stencils are more for me than the stamps.
Thank you so much for all your time and effort to make this great video, I learned a lot.

  32. Jennifer, no need to apologize for putting so much into this video. I learned so much. I hated to see the video end. 🙂 I love turnabout stamps and just learned my turnabout kit and some other stamps from this release should be arriving today. I’ll be watching this video again so I can put some of the tips and tricks to use as I play with my new and old stamps plus the turnabout kit. Thanks for another fantastic video!!!

  33. All beautiful cards. Thank you for the great new ideas. I ordered a few turnabout sets from the new release. Looking forward to using them.

  34. Hello Jennifer ! Fantastic video, brilliant examples of all those awesome stamp sets from Concord & 9 th. Sorry for the delay in sending you thanks for this video but I’ve been ill. This video was Jan packed with examples & advice & I thank you for going the extra mile for us all. This cheered me up so much tonight, I struggle with osteoarthritis in my spine, I’ve actually lost nearly all mobility to this condition although I’m only 46 years old. I’m having one of those pain filled days where no relaxation, meditation or medication seems to help so your video came in just brilliantly to side track me. So I owe you a huge thank you for that alone. Looking forward to seeing more of your cards on the next videi, I always learn so much from you & I hope you know how much i, like so many othets, appreciate all the effort you put into them. Hope you have a craftastic week.

  35. Hi Jennifer – Loving your cards as always, and the turnabout stamps in particular, however, my note of the card measurements has gone mssing. Could you please tell us what card measurements you use, I would really appreciate that. thank you.

Have as good a Xmas as possible and stay healthy and safe.

    Regards
    Nicola Kirton
