Our industry is one of the best out there. It is filled with encouragement, talent, hard workers, and kindness. However, lately there has been a problem with counterfeit products. I am not going to go into it here, but it is killing our industry. Hurting everyone. This scares me… hurts me… worries me.

But there are also great things happening that will fight the negative! And one big one? Young crafters. And Rina Krupsky is the perfect example. Rina is hilarious, real, and beautiful inside and out. I find her energy, excitement and honesty to be very inspiring! Rina’s mom is one of my best friends – Gina Krupsky of Gina K Designs.

I am so very thankful Rina is here today to share an awesome card with a floral surprise inside! All of the supplies are linked in the thumbnails below.

Look how awesome the inside is – no special dies needed!

Thank you Rina for being here. Can’t wait to hug you in real life! xo

  1. Thank you for sharing, Jennifer and Rina! I will subscribe to your youtube channel! Jennifer, is it better to watch you on Youtube or here on your site? Does one bring you more income than the other? Just curious. I’d like to maximize your return. You put so much into your videos!

  2. Jennifer,
I am concerned about your comments about counterfeit products. How do I find out more about this problem?

    Gail

  3. Absolutely enjoyed this video. Thank you for hosting, Jennifer. What a dynamic and unexpected card, Rina. Thank you for an enjoyable experience. Happy New Year!

  4. Adorable girl! She’s gonna do just great. Thanks for your kindness, Jennifer. And BTW, Rina has beautiful hands. 🙂

  5. Love watching Rina and the laughter she brings! Also love your videos, Jennifer! The crafty world is lucky to have people like you, Rina, and Gina and so many others who share their creativity with us.

  6. Now, Rina is my kind of crafter! When I do my card class, I always make a mistake, but my ladies love it and just laugh along with me. I love this card. Got to have a go at it. Thank you so much for introducing this gorgeous young lady.

  7. Way to go, RINA! I’ve always wanted to make a flower pop up like you made! Thank you for the inspiration. And Bow-EZ is MY friend 😀 I would love to have a daughter like you ♥

  8. Awesome card Rina!!! You are so funny and soooo REAL!!! Thank you for being You!!!
Thanks Jennifer for sharing her video!!

  9. Jennifer, thank you so much for sharing Rina with us today! She is definitely a refreshing, positive role model for the younger generation, and, you’re right, she’s a HOOT to watch! Love her and you for bringing her forward.

  10. How fun. I’m definitely going to try those pop-up flowers.
Do you have any advice how to avoid buying counterfeit products by mistake? I certainly don’t want to promote that industry when there are so many great and honest/ethical businesses to support.

  11. I have to watch this video, but if it includes anything die cut, then I can’t make this card. Boo Hoo! The inside of the card is so pretty but I am not so crazy about the front of the card. While I have done a black & white card, maybe 2, I’m not really crazy about black & white cards. It’s like a black & white movie. I am always wondering what color dresses they are wearing or where all the color is. That’s how I feel about the front of this card. Here is what I wish. I wish there was one pop of color on the front, like making one swirl yellow. That would be so cool! Maybe I will do a card like that with just one pop of color but the rest, black & white.
About the counterfeit products, which I think is scummy for someone to do but I’m sure it happens to a lot of products, I only buy from the companies like Simon or Altenew. That’s how I know I will get the real things. I hope they catch these people & put them away for a long time. I want to give the business that made the thing the business, not someone that I don’t know because it might not be from Simon or Altenew. I hate that this happens!

  12. I watched the video & she was funny! I love the Careless Whispers song she threw in there. I am actually going to try making this card! I don’t have the stencil that she used or the stamp or even the dauber but I can improvise, right? I so want that ink set! I love the colors so much! I’ll start with the small set first. We have a Smart TV & we can watch You Tube on our TV. Do you think I could watch her on our TV?
I like how she struggled with making the bow. That would be me! I have a shirt that has a bow that you tie in the back & I can never get it to look like a nice bow. I am bow challenged? LOL
When I try this card, I will try to show it you & Rina. If I were to make a video, it would probably come out like her’s. It would be funny too but since I don’t do a lot of fancy things, it might even be boring. I’m going to see if I can find more of her videos because I liked her. Thanks for supplying the video!

  13. I love the pop-up flowers!! Totally amazing, I might ry that inside my daughter-in-law’s Mother’s Day card this year. Loved seeing you with your mom, so adorable, I never had a close relationship with my mom so I always love seeing a mother/daughter bond like that. I’m close to my two boys and have a great relationship with daughter-in=law and have now started to slowly build the the bond with our one year granddaughter. I will definitely be a new subscriber to your channel 🙂 L=You brought a smile to my face several times and kept it real, which is what I love! I would love to see more cardmakers showing the whole process, mistakes and all!!

  14. What a fun video! Rina you did a great job. I can hardly wait to give these pop-up flowers a try. Great way to put a smile on someone’s face. Jennifer, thanks for having Rina as your guest!

  15. I will now have the courage to try this again! My last attempt was a huge fail , but the video I saw had different directions about the taping. I didn’t start playing with paper until I retired , but my grandgirls love playing with me. My favorite phrase: “Mimi, I need more card bases!” Thank you. Loved the ending!

  16. Thanks for introducing us to Rina! This unique card drew me in, but her personality will keep me coming back — it’s like crafting with a friend. I just subscribed to her YouTube channel and look forward to more.

  17. I loved Rina s card. I loved the black and white on the outside because it makes the flowers more of a big surprise. I have an altered book with those flowers in it that someone else did for me. I never knew how they did then. Now thanks to Rina, I can do them too! . Rina, you are an adorable young woman and you just keep on doing you!

  18. I love watching Rina’s videos, she always makes me feel ok about my mess ups. This is a great card. Its actually easier than I thought. Thanks so much Rina.

  19. Jennifer, thanks so much for sharing Rina’s video! What a hoot! I love her personality, and I love that there are younger crafters out there, not just us older, retired women! I laughed all the way through. Her mom must be very proud of her!

  20. I loved the video and the creativity of the card. Rina is truly funny… as a retired Math teacher I’m still smiling over, ‘this is the pencil I failed my last exam with’ . Subscribed to her channel and will look for more videos from her.

  21. What a fun card! Thanks Jennifer and Rina- definitely going to give this one a try. Which “Milwaukee” is Gina K from? I’m from MKE (Wisconsin), and would love to visit her shop!!!

  22. Thank you Jennifer for sharing Rina’s video on your blog. You are correct, we do need some young, fresh blood in the industry and she is perfect! Her combination of humor, wit and self awareness about her “mistakes” makes her a delight to watch. I really like her card…the stark black and white on the front makes the inside floral bouquet a lovely surprise. For some reason I can’t comment on YouTube so I’m leaving my comment here. Thank you again for all you do, Jennifer, for us and I wish you a happy and healthy 2019.

  23. I am bow-challenged, too, but who cares if I can get the hang of those flowers! Cool video and it was great watching your surprise visit to your mom!

  24. This is a beautiful card Rina and I cried when I saw your Mom’s surprised face to see her baby ‘just show up’ at her work place. You are SO sweet and thoughtful and it comes across in your videos. THIS only proves it!
