Die Cut Monoprint + GIVEAWAY
Hello! A bit ago, I shared a fun Distress Ink Monoprint technique. Well I am back today to share a variation of this technique using die cuts! It is fun and results in two cards at once.

For all of the cards shown today, I used a Die Cut (faux) Monoprint technique. (Be sure to also watch THIS video for a variation of this technique.) I start each inking white cardstock with loads of Distress Ink and then die cutting with any die I want. I then mist the inked die cut with water and lay it onto white cardstock before running it through my die cut machine to press the pieces together. The excess ink from the wet die cut transfers onto the plain white cardstock… creating a second inked piece! Thus, for all of today’s cards, I end up with a pair of examples.

My first two cards feature the monoprint technique using the new Simon Says Stamp Outline Floral Frame Die.
I used the inked die cut piece on a plain white notecard along with an inked Simon Says Stamp Big Thanks die cut and a stamped message from the Simon Says Stamp Big Thanks Words Stamp Set.
This card uses the white panel where I transferred ink to. It is amazing how well it works! I also added gems to both cards for shine.
This next card uses the same Simon Says Stamp Outline Floral Frame Die, but I adhered both of the resulting pieces together on one card. The layered look gives lots of dimension! I also used the Simon Says Stamp CZ Design Hello Die and Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Stamp Set.
Next up? A pair of cards made with the Simon Says Stamp Wrought Iron Wide Border Die. What a gorgeous die! I added a “hugs” greeting to the die cut using the new-and-oh-so-fabulous Simon Says Stamp Rounded Alphabet Dies.
I stacked a few extra white die cuts behind the inked die cut for a stacked look. It makes a big difference!
With the extra piece, I simply added a Simon Says Stamp You’re Doing Awesome die cut on a plain white notecard.
I really like how the new Simon Says Stamp Deco Heart Dies works so well with the older Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Heart Stamp! I used the two together to create my next pair of cards. The first card uses the inked die cut on an acetate window I created on the front of the card. The background is embossed with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder.
I also added a sentiment to the window. The message is from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Stamp Set… and the rounded sentiment banner is from the Simon Says Stamp Nested Banner Dies.
I used the monoprint piece from the Simon Says Stamp Deco Heart Die on a second simple card. This also features the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Stamp Set, Nested Banner Dies, Center Cut Heart Stamp and Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder.
The rest of my cards have shimmer on them. This is because I added some Perfect Pearls to my water bottle. This creates a pearlized water!
My next card pair shows clearly how this die cut monoprint technique ends up with two pieces that are mirror images of each other… using the Simon Says Stamp Sweet Tulip Die.
For both cards, I added Simon Says Stamp CZ Thanks Die Cuts.
Look how well that image transferred – a perfect mirror image of the last card.
This technique can also be done with backgrounds with a die cut opening. This pair of cards features the Simon Says Stamp Bixby Wreath Die. The inked piece is on the card on the right, along with a “hello” die cut from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Hello There Die.
Here you can see how well the excess ink transfer to the other piece! And I am in love with the new Simon Says Stamp Friend Outline Die.
The next two cards use the Simon Says Stamp Shimmer Burst Die, Big Thanks Dies and Stamp Set. I am amazed how well the ink transfers… even with these tiny little petals!
My last set of cards shows how well this technique works with background dies, also. I used the awesome new Simon Says Stamp Holiday Knit Background Die. The color transfers so well!
Here you can see detail that background die provides. I added lots of pearls to the pattern, too.
