The technique I am showcasing today is best understood by watching the video. 🙂 Below I have photos of the many cards I made, along with the supplies used on each. I used a lot of different dies, but remember this card designs could all be done with simple dies or dies you may already have!

All of the die cuts on these cards are stacked. I die cut 3 or 4 of each die from white cardstock and glued them together for dimension.

Glad Tidings of Great Joy Card: featuring a Distress Oxide Ink monoprint background created with the Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflake Stamp. Finished with the Memory Box Hanging Lantern Frame Dies and a Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas Stamp Set sentiment.

Laughter & Joy Card: featuring a Distress Oxide Ink monoprint background created with the Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflake Stamp. Finished with the Poppy Stamps Seed Snowflake Joy Die and a Heffy Doodle Holiday Sentiment Duos sentiment.

Hello Pine Card: featuring a Distress Oxide Ink monoprint background created with the Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflake Stamp. Finished with the Memory Box Delicate Pine Frame Dies and Birch Press Hello Sugar Script Die. I like how this die comes with small bird dies, too.

For a bit of shine, I “colored” in the snowflakes with my Tonic Aqua Shimmer Pen.

Hello Snowflake Card: featuring featuring a Distress Oxide Ink monoprint background created with the Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflake Stamp. Also uses the Memory Box Pinpoint Snowflake Circle Frame Dies and Memory Box Jotted Hello Die.

Merry Card: featuring a Distress Oxide Ink monoprint background created with the Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflake Stamp. Die cut pieces were created with the Memory Box Family Cabin Frame Die and Birch Press Merry Sugar Script Dies. I again filled in some of the snowflakes with my Aqua Shimmer Pen.

Hello Wreath Card: featuring a Distress Ink monoprint background created with the Simon Says Stamp Mod Trees Stamp. Finished with the Memory Box Cottage Gate, Memory Box Pine Wreath, Paper Smooches Bows, and Birch Press Hello Sugar Script Dies.

Blessed Card: featuring a Distress Ink monoprint background created with the Impression Obsession Boxwood Stamp. Includes Memory Box Three Candle Circle die cuts and Simon Says Stamp CZ Design 30 Days of Thankful Stamp Set sentiments.

Love that background! And that Memory Box Woodland Bridge die set includes the deer and bridge.

Filled With Joy Card: featuring a Distress Ink monoprint background created with the My Favorite Things Marble Stamp. This also used the Poppy Stamps Playful Deer Stitched Dies, but I cut of the snow and deer and just used the frame. The sentiment is again from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas Stamp Set and the dove is the Memory Box Large Winged Dove Die.

Missing You Card: featuring a Distress Oxide Ink monoprint background created with the Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflake Stamp. I also used the Memory Box Forest Frame Dies and Ink Blot Sentiment Label Block Stamp Set.

I also used the Poppy Stamps Pinpoint Snowflake Frame Die and Stencil, Birch Press Big Friend Sugar Script Die, and Ink Blot Sentiment Label Block Stamp Set.

That frame and stencil combo is awesome… you can see the soft blue inking on the snowflakes…

Happiness Card: featuring a Distress Oxide Ink monoprint background created with the Impression Obsession Boxwood Stamp. Finished with the Poppy Stamps Holly Vine Frame & Stencil (I didn’t use the stencil) and Poppy Stamps Christmas Time Stamp Set.

Nativity Card: features the Poppy Stamps Nativity Scene Frame and Stencil (I didn’t use the stencil) and Poppy Stamps Christmas Time Stamp Set along with Carta Bella 12×12 Shimmer Cardstock.

I just love these details…

  23. Jennifer, I do love your videos a lot. And I am glad I watched this one with the Memory Box Dies, which I love. And I make lots of square cards rather then other. I had gotten 2 of the new winter dies fro Memory Box and was not sure what to do about background. And since I like making white on white rather, this is perfect. I am already getting busy with making backgrounds. I loved all of your cards but am not that fortune to buy as many as you. But with my two I can interchange and hopefully mine will turn out as nice as yours.
Happy Card Making and Happy Holidays.
    Regina

  24. I’m out of state this week, but can’t wait to get home and give this technique a try!!! Thanks for inspiring me, Jennifer.

  25. This technique is so fantastic, Jennifer! I am not a colorist by any means whether I’m using Copics, paints or inks but I do enjoy it. What I love most about this technique is the fact that I create quick and easy backgrounds for skies or really anything that I require…this will be a huge help to me! As always, absolutely stunning cards my dear…oh, and it would be SUCH AN HONOR to win a card from you, and I’m sure there are many more crafters out there who feel the same. Your contribution to our craft is endless! Thank you, Jennifer!

  26. I really like your videos so much. You are so clear with your directions. I could watch your videos all day and sometimes do. I would love to receive a card from you. Keep up the wonderful videos.

  31. Who wouldn’t want a card from you, Jennifer?! Any hand-made card is such an amazing “happy mail” that comes through the post box, and a card from you would make not someone’s day, but someone’s month at least, if not someone’s year! 🙂 They’re little pieces of art! And all of the ones from today’s post confirm that!

  32. This was a long video but I loved every minute of it. I always learn so much from you and your creativity always astounds me. The only problem is that you make me want to buy things. LOL. I did not know about the stencil/die combinations and now I really have to have them. You are such an inspiration and the most creative tutorials on the internet. Thank you for all you do to come up with these fabulous ideas.

  33. I am so ready to try the monoprint technique! I love the cards you made and your very creative use of the backgrounds you mad. Thanks for sharing the inspiration!

  35. These are exquisite cards and I think I will try this technique. Thanks for showing it. How lucky to get all these supplies! I appreciate your videos, too.

  36. I bought the Memory Box Country Church Frame die set and have had nothing but trouble. I can’t get the frame to cut out cleanly. I’ve tried 80 lb. and 110 lb. card stock, die up, die down, rolling through once, rolling through multiple times, and I’ve not got one clean frame yet out of at least ten tries. Any tips? These are such beautiful cards, and I was so anxious to make them!
