Creative Vellum Card Ideas + GIVEAWAY
Hello! Today I am sharing several ideas for creating vellum cards. Each card is very different… but all showcase vellum!

My first example is a heat embossed vellum card with a mini cardstock notecard inside. At the center of the vellum card, I silver heat embossed a large flower from the new Altenew Engraved Flowers Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). I then added Copic coloring to the flower by coloring on the backside of the vellum. For more shine, I heat embossed smaller flowers all around the main flower with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder.
I also added cardstock frames using the Altenew Fine Frames Dies (SSS | ALT) and sentiment from the Altenew Needlework Motif Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). When you open the vellum card, there is a mini cardstock card adhered inside – perfect for a personal message.
My next two cards have vellum for the top portion of the card front. This creates a sheer window to the inside! (Be sure to watch the video for the how-to.) On both cards, I used Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder and Altenew Dainty Swiss Dots Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) to heat emboss on vellum. On the bottom of the card, I stamped the Altenew Pinstripe Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) and “hello” from the Altenew Wild Ferns Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). Along where the two pieces meet, I added a flower from the Altenew Handpicked Bouquet Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) that I stamped with new Altenew Ink colors (SSS | ALT). (More on those below.)
Here you can see the see-through portion of the card front.
Here is another card that is very similar, but a bit simpler.
I LOVE the look of the Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder on vellum…
Vellum is perfect for creating card belly bands. For this card, I first colored my vellum with ink to give it a purple tint. I wrapped it around a gatefold card and added an Altenew Simply Hello die cut (SSS | ALT) and an Altenew Needlework Motif Stamp Set sentiment (SSS | ALT).
Under the vellum belly band is a gatefold card stamped with images from the awesome new Altenew Leaf Medallion Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). This set is easy to use and can be used to create many fun looks!
Another way to create a vellum card is to use large die cuts. When you open the card, there are white die cuts of the same size for a place to write a message. (Watch the video on this one, too!) This is my favorite way to make vellum cards. This one features the new Altenew Leaf Medallion Die (SSS | ALT) covered with lots of silver embossing powder and gems.
This sentiment is from the older Altenew Halftone Circles Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). I use this one a lot…
In my video, I show a vellum card featuring the new Altenew Wild Ferns Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). I stamped the leaves on a vellum card… and used that as an overlay over a regular white notecard. I also added twine, pearls, and a sentiment from the Altenew Dainty Swiss Dots Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). I will be showing the how-to for this card (and a fun technique!) in a video coming very soon.
