Unique Interactive Cards: Double Slider & Kiss Cards

Hello! I am finally back after a break… and I have one more interactive card video for you. (My next few videos will share techniques.) I show how to make both double slider cards and “kiss” cards. These special cards offer the recipient a fun surprise!

Today’s cards have unique interactive features. Although these can be done without special dies, I am using two die sets I recommend: My Favorite Things Double Slider Loop Dies (SSS | MFT) and My Favorite Things Trifold Slider Dies (SSS | MFT). These sets make these cards so much easier and the sets are affordable. (Many interactive die sets are pricey.)

My first two cards feature the My Favorite Things Double Slider Loop Dies (SSS | MFT). These simple dies can be used to make a variety of double slider cards where you pull a tab and an element moves in the other direction.

The first example has an elegant feel when you initially open it. I used the Altenew Peaceful Wreath Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) for the wreath, the Altenew Holiday Bow Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) for the bow, and the Concord & 9th Very Merry Stamp Set (SSS | C9) for the sentiment.

And thanks to the My Favorite Things Double Slider Loop Dies (SSS | MFT) feature built into the card… when you pull the tab, a Simon Says Stamp Picture Book Deer pops up! Such a fun surprise. Be sure to watch the video to see how to use the My Favorite Things Double Slider Loop Dies (SSS | MFT)!

Here is a close look at some details I added. I used Glossy Accents on the berries and a shimmer pen on the bow.

My next card also uses the My Favorite Things Double Slider Loop Dies (SSS | MFT)… but this time to reveal a surprise gift card. The cute images are from the WPlus9 Cookies & Cocoa Stamp Set (SSS | WP9) and the sentiment is from the Concord & 9th Holiday Cheer Tag Stamp Set (SSS | C9)… and I created that awesome background with the WPlus9 Knit Patterns Stamp Set (SSS | WP9).

When you pull the tab down, a gift card pops out the top! The “pull” is from the Lawn Fawn Push Here Stamp Set and the inside sentiment is from the Heffy Doodle Holiday Sentient Duos Stamp Set.

By the way, I heat embossed the marshmallows and icing on the cookies with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder for the perfect shine… along with Ranger Carnation Red Embossing Powder. I also added clear embossing to the cup. The placement of of the images on this card was inspired by Dawn Woleslagle of WPlus9! Check out her cute card HERE.

My last card is what I call a “kiss” card. When you open it, two images come together to kiss! I used the My Favorite Things Trifold Slider Dies (SSS | MFT) for this and it makes it SO much easier than any other method I have used in the past. When closed, you see images from the Avery Elle Party Pals and Banner Bits Stamp Set.

And when you open the card, two cats with balloons come close together inside of a window! Again, watch the video to see how to use the My Favorite Things Trifold Slider Dies (SSS | MFT).

  2. I have seen videos on these dies but you have such a way of teaching where you include the important stuff but keep it to the simplest way of explaining it , you make it so easy to understand!! Thanks so much Jennifer, I know you know this but YOU ROCK!

  3. Thanks so much for the video! Your cards are so fun–I especially like that cutie-patootie little reindeer popping his head up in the wreath. It is just amazing how far cardmaking has come since I’ve been making cards. I really like all these interactive things that can be done now.

  4. Jennifer,
These slider cards are absolutely adorable. Just love the first one you did with the Reindeer. I love how you demonstrate each step that makes it so easy to do. Thank You.

  5. Where do you get those blades you use to take the score tape off? I see you use these a lot but never see the link for them?

  6. Absolute gorgeous, I love them all but have a favorite…the cats card, so very cute! Thank you so much for showing and teaching us how to make thes awesome intractive cards!

  7. Thank you! I’ll need these for Christmas giving! I appreciate that I can make this a “favorite” to find it again, because I’ve already forgotten all the steps I’ll need to follow. The magic of “pause” is great when I’m trying to put things together. Now that sounds like a great pun! “Paws” to take a break or catch up!

  8. This was awesome to watch and it is so cool to see all these new trixy dies coming out! I remember way back in the day trying to do all the measurements and cut straight lines ect. Life is much easier these days.

  9. Super cute cards, Jennifer! My favorite is the wreath & pop up deer. Adorable!! I’m adding those dies to my Christmas wish list!

  10. I absolutely love the Altenew Peaceful Wreath Stamps & Die set and love your tutorial on how to make the delightful card with the reindeer popping up from the wreath. Just so clever! Thank you.

  11. Hi Jennifer… love the cards… especially that little reindeer guy popping his head up… sure to bring a smile to the recipient. I love your clear and simple teaching. I have tried many new techniques since I began watching you. Blessings.

  12. Thanks for another fantastic video! You make these techniques look so easy that I’m really looking forward to giving them a try. Thanks, too, for doing a 5×7 card. I like larger card for Christmas because it gives more room to write a note or add a newsletter without the card getting too bulky.

  13. Thank you for taking the time to fully explain exactly how these awesome cards come together. Your explanations are super clear for us more technically challenged. The cards are both amazing idea’s & so versatile my brain was already whirring away as you spoke. My last thank you goes to the fact that you kept this quite inexpensive with products as that’s unfortunately my downfall. Your examples made this video really fun & let us peek at a few new sets as well.🌟

  14. I made the reindeer type card. Assembly was easy once you got going. However, just a tip…..the 1st card I made was with a squirrel image. It wasn’t long enough to clear the circle cut because it had a flat bottom. It may be obvious to everybody but me, but just as a hint, you need a long image (like the neck) or an extension of some kind to make the entire image clear the bottom of the wreath. Keep in mind, it’s only going to slide up as far as the staples. But, it’s only paper right? Will make again with some adjustments. It is really quite easy to do.

  15. Thank you so much for doing the pop-up and movable cards! I love them!! Plus, you’re so good at it and your exclamations are easy to follow. Thanks again, Amber
