Tip + Card Showcase: Simon Says Stamp + GIVEAWAY
Hello! The other day I shared a Tip & Card Showcase video and I asked for feedback. Everyone was very positive! So I am back with another… but this time focusing on the new Simon Says Stamp release. (Note: I won’t normally be doing these types of videos very often. But this release is a good one, too!)

Here are the cards (with tips!) I showed in the video… all featuring the new Simon Says Stamp Fun and Festive Release…
My first card shows how to create a layered background with one background stamp… with the help of vellum! (Watch the video to see how.) I stamped the Simon Says Stamp Mod Trees Background three times, each time shifting it a bit. It creates a unique look! I added a shimmer-vellum filled Simon Says Stamping Dancing Deer Die Cut and a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Punny Animals Stamp Set.
I also used ribbon as a scarf and a silver gem for a sparkly nose…
My second card shares tips for adding quick stitching to cards. (If you want to learn more about stitching on cards, check out THIS video.) I used the new Simon Says Stamp Christmas Tree Stitching Die.
I added a gold glitter cardstock star to the top using a Honey Bee Stacking Stars Die and matching sentiment with the new Simon Says Stamp CZ Merry Dies.
As a little bonus, I show in the video how to use the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Tree Stitching Die to create a fun non-tree background. I added sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp CZ Bestie Set.
This next card features several new products and showcases a few helpful tips. I created the background with two pieces. The first is basic stamping with the new Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflake Stamp. The bottom piece is a background made up with images from the Simon Says Stamp Critter Sweaters Stamp Set and sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas Stamp Set. (LOVE this set!) In the video I show how to do this for a custom look.
I added a silver cardstock strip and Simon Says Stamp Holiday Words On a Line Die Cut, along with Simon Says Stamp Alicia & Rina Snowflake die cuts.
One simple way to make a shaped card is to use a large stamp image. Here, I used a gorgeous image from the new Simon Says Stamp Mele Kalikimaka Stamp Set. After coloring, I cut it out while holding a second piece of cardstock behind it. This gives me two shaped pieces. I created a scored hinge at the top of the blank piece and adhered it to the top back of the stamped piece. This forms a shaped card! I added a small sentiment in the middle from the Simon Says Stamp CZ Ornamental Stamp Set.
Here you can see how the card is able to stand…
Another new fun stamp set from this release is the Simon Says Stamp Winter Scene. I used this set (along with masking using the coordinating dies) to create a fun scene. Notice how I used a sentiment repeatedly in the sky. This is a great way to get more out of your sentiment. The background is the Simon Says Stamp Outline Snowflake Stamp.
Here you can see the shine I added to scene using my Tonic Aqua Shimmer Pen and Midas Touch Aqua Shimmer Pen.
Simon Says Stamp also came out with many new Big Picture Book Dies. I used a few today… sharing tips for assembly and for creating a shaped card.
For this first card, I used the new Big Picture Book Koala and Big Body Dies. Aren’t they the cutest?! I created a background using the Simon Says Stamp Plank Background Stamp… along with a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Punny Animals Stamp Set… and a tiny little heart.
For shine, I added Glossy Accents to the eyes and nose. Those sentiments from the Simon Says Stamp Punny Animals Stamp Set are just too fun… and can be used with many other critter dies and stamps.
You can also use the Big Picture Book Dies to create shaped cards that can stand up! I used the Big Picture Book Puppy, Standing Body, and Tails Dies to make a standing pup… and added my own party hat.
I again used the new Simon Says Stamp Punny Animals Stamp Set.
