Z-Fold Card Design Options
Hi! I think it is fun to give cards with fun folds… something different than a store-bought card. Today I share a few different z-fold card designs. Super easy!

My first z-fold design is the easiest to do and is the most common. You can create a card like this using any stamps or dies! I started by covering a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ side-folding notecard with soft stripes… using the Hero Arts Soft Vanilla Ink (SSS | HA) and the new Concord & 9th Stripes and Saying (SSS | C9). I then scored at 2 1/8″ down the center of the card and folded it back to create a z-fold. I added a Concord & 9th Laurel Frame (SSS | C9) flower so it was just attached to the front of the card. (I list the ink colors in the thumbnails below.)
When you open the card, you can see a spot for the personal message.
The sentiment is from the Concord & 9th Laurel Frame Dies (SSS | C9). I also added Pretty Pink Posh Buttercream Jewels.
Another design option is to use partial die cutting. I really like this look! I started with a 4 1/4″x 5 1/2″ side-folding notecard and did partial die cutting with the Concord & 9th Triple Step Thank You Die (SSS | C9). I then scored down the center of the card to create the z-fold. (Watch the video to see this in action.)
Next I stamped the “thank you” using the Concord & 9th Triple Step Thank You Stamp Set (SSS | C9) and the Concord & 9th Sunshine Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9) on the backgrounds.
By the way, during the month of July, proceeds from the Concord & 9th Triple Step Thank You go to The Sharing Place: Grief Support for Children. I love when crafters support a good cause – thank you Concord & 9th!
You can also use either of the first two techniques to make a bottom-folding card. For the background on this one, I used the new Concord & 9th Lovely Blossoms Turnabout Stamp Set (SSS | C9) and lots of colors of Gina K Ink! (See them listed below.) I then folded the front half of the card down to create a z-fold.
I added a framed label from the Concord & 9th Lovely Blossoms Dies (SSS | C9) to the front fold and the inside of the card, lining them up. The sentiment is from the same die set… and I used a bit of Concord & 9th Neutrals Glitter Paper (SSS | C9).
This design works with just about any products!
I also have a few bonus cards featuring the new Concord & 9th Dip Dyed Cards & Envelopes (SSS | C9). These cards and matching envelopes are great for super quick cards. So pretty! I used mine with the Concord & 9th Heartfelt Smile Stamp Set (which is free for a limited time with a $60+ purchase) and WOW Silver Glitter Embossing Powder.
Enjoy!
