Stamp and Die Cut Inlay + Sale
Hi there! For me, cardmaking is as much about die cutting as it is about stamping. Therefore, I love any technique that uses the two together to create something unique. Today I share how to inlay stamped images into die cut backgrounds… and more!

My first card shows a stamped image inlaid into a layered die cut background. The look is unusual and a fun alternative for a card design. I first stamped, colored, and die cut a Pinkfresh Studio Magical Christmas Stamp Set (SSS | PF) unicorn – so cute! (I like that this can be used for holiday and non-holiday.) Next, I die cut and layered the Pinkfresh Studio Fancy Floral 1 Die (SSS | PF) and Pinkfresh Studio Fancy Floral 2 Die (SSS | PF)… and then die cut a unicorn opening for the stamped image.
I added lots of details to the unicorn… Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen on the horn, Sakura Black Glaze Pen on the eye, White Nuvo Drops on the scarf, Tonic Aqua Shimmer Pens on the mane… and a Pinkfresh Studio Floral Frame Stamp Set (SSS | PF) sentiment.
Here is another example with the stamping set back into the die cut background. I used the Pinkfresh Studio Fruitastic Stamp Set (SSS | PF), Pinkfresh Geo Floral Background Die (SSS | PF), and Pinkfresh Studio Bloom Stamp Set (SSS | PF).
I have been wanting to use the Pinkfresh Studio Modern Mandala Die (SSS | PF) for some time now! I added color behind a stacked die cut… and inlaid a small circle in the top layer.
The sentiment is from the Pinkfresh Studio Pretty Paisley Stamp Set (SSS | PF).
You can also inlay stamped images into a dry embossed background. After stamping, coloring, and die cutting the cutie Pinkfresh Studio Squirrel Friends Stamp Set (SSS | PF), I die cut the same opening on a piece of white cardstock. I used my Spellbinders Embossing Mat and Pinkfresh Geo Floral Background Die (SSS | PF) to make an impression, and then added the stamped image in place.
Isn’t this the cutest? Such a great set! The Pinkfresh Studio Great Joy Stamp Set (SSS | PF).
My last card simply shares how you can add interest and texture to a simple background by making an impression with a background die. I used the Pinkfresh Geo Leaf Background Die (SSS | PF), Pinkfresh Studio A Day in the City Stamp Set (SSS | PF), and Pinkfresh Studio Cityscape Die (SSS | PF).
I added details to this card, too… Ranger Glossy Accents on the windows and Tonic Midas Touch Aqua Shimmer Pen on the sun.
