Set Back Stamping + GIVEAWAY

Hi again! Today I am back to share ideas for “set back stamping”… where stamped images are set back in their die cut windows. This is a great way to get more out of your stamps and coordinating dies.

These designs and techniques work with any stamps and coordinating dies. Be sure to watch the video to see how to create these cards! I do find it helpful to have a stamping tool, such as the MISTI… however it isn’t necessary.

For my first card, I used an image from the Waffle Flower Spice Garden Stamp Set (SSS | WF). I stamped and colored the leaves on a white notecard… and then used the coordinating die to create a pink panel “window” to go around the stamping. I added the panel with craft foam… allowing the stamped image to be “set back.”

Finally, I added a sentiment from the Waffle Flower Always Stamp Set (SSS | WF) and two thin black cardstock strips. Oh! And a bit of shimmer on the leaves with a Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen.

I simply adore the new Waffle Flower Little Painters Stamp Set (SSS | WF)! I used it along with the coordinating dies to create this next set back stamping technique. The sentiment is from the Waffle Flower Rainbows Stamp Set (SSS | WF).

I also added Tonic Crystal Glaze to the paint for a bit of shine.

I really like how the grey cardstock frames the cute stamped images so nicely on this next card. I used the new Waffle Flower Hip Hip Hooray Stamp Set (SSS | WF) – so cute!

Here you can see the dimension behind the the “window”… and the stamping that is thus “set back” a bit.

You can also fill a background with set back stamping. Here I used images from the Waffle Flower Always Stamp Set (SSS | WF).

I especially like the look of this technique with white cardstock for both the background and raised piece.

This next card features the Waffle Flower Bouquet Builder Stamp Set (SSS | WF) and Sunshine Stamp Set (SSS | WF).

I also added shimmer to the stamped image to make it stand out more…

Lila helped me with this next card… picking the colors and which critters to use. I love the Waffle Flower Gym Rat Stamp Set (SSS | WF)! From the outside, you see the critters through the die cut windows…

… and the also show on the inside. This is great to do along the edge of a card!

  1. Jennifer,
Thank you so much for your informative videos and sharing your beautiful designs with all of us. I find your videos inspiring! Once I finish watching a video, I find myself running to my craft room to try all the techniques shown.
Thank you also for opening up my eyes to other stamp companies out there! Because I love the idea of matching ink and cardstock and stamp/die bundles, I have typically used only one company’s products. I’ve noticed the companies you showcase seem to have matching paper and inks as well as many stamp/die sets at VERY affordable prices! I am not used to that! The stamp/die bundles I typically purchase are quite pricey. I look forward to branching out

  2. All of your cards are lovely!! I could watch your videos for hours!! I am always learning something new. I love the spice garden stamps, the possibilities are endless!

  3. Tough to choose… Love them all. Guess my fav is the Always set. I really like this technique- the cards all look unique. Will try it!

  4. For me it has to be the Waffle flower bouquet builder kit. It is so versatile and pretty. I can never see this one going out of style. Love your videos and your style. So clean and fresh and different. Thanks

  5. Such a great idea to use the stamps and dies like this. As you said, it’s nice to be able to stretch the versatility of your supplies by using them in different ways. My favorite is the paint brushes.

  6. I love ALL the cards, the technique is something I never thought of and definitely will try. If I had to pick one favorite from the Waffle Flower sets, I think I would have to pick the “Little Painters” set. I think I would get the most use out of it, making cards for my other crafty friends! Thank you, as always, for your inspiration!

  7. Oh my gosh! I love your cards! I love this release & would probably have to have the Little Painters set!

  8. Gorgeous cards! Love this release, the little painters set is just so adorable! And the Sunshine stamp set is another favorite.

  9. I love your YouTube channel. I have learned so much. You are wonderful at what you do. My favorite new waffle flower set are the paint brushes….

  10. I love the storage folder it comes in! I’ll order the folders to help store my other stamp and dies!

  11. I love the stamped critters in the last card – normally critters are not my thing. BUT shown as you have done, they are wonderful. Since my 9 yo granddaughter has discovered my drawer ‘o’ cards to give away, I need to include some kids cards. Your micro thin colored strips make perfect endings to the cards. Thats another reason I never miss your posts!

  12. You inspire me with your little details that add that finishing touch: the purple flower stem extended, stars inside and out, different banner styles. The stamp set I like is the Bouquet Builder; I like flowers but have come to realize I need some nice leaf stamp and this has both.

  13. Oh, what an absolutely great idea! Never thought of using stamps and dies in that way. Thank you for sharing. I would have to say that the Little Painters set is my favourite.

  14. I super love your ideas subcribe on your youtube channel and set the notification on!
I love the hiphip hooray stamp set.
Please pick me !!!! Im from Philippines . This would be my first international stampset.

    Thank you !!

  15. I love the little painters set, could be used in so many different ways. I seldom buy co-ordinating dies but you are certainly making me rethink this 🙂

  16. What a fun release and your cards are so lovely. I think the Gym Rats set looks like a lot of fun – which isn’t my normal style of stamps but they look like fun.

  17. What a fun technique! It looks easy enough, so I’ll have to give it a try! The Little Painters set is my favorite from this release, but I have several others on my wishlist…

  18. Wow! I love these! I hope to try this technique soon as well! I’m catching up on watching your videos and have so much to try! Thanks for the inspiration!

  19. I would love to win as I am just getting started and I can’t afford it all. Every time you make a card I want to make that one too! Thanks for the opportunity.
