Layered Resist + GIVEAWAY
Hello! A few weeks ago, I shared a video with several resist techniques. I had such fun bringing back these old techniques, so I thought I would share more! Today is all about layered resist.

Before we get into layered resist, I have a few cards reviewing basic traditional resist. For this technique you need a glossy/coated cardstock. I prefer Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper – the finish is so pretty.
For my first three cards, I stamped flowers from the Altenew Starry Flowers Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) with VersaMark Ink (SSS | EH) on Ranger Specialty Stamping Paper and heat set it completely. (Be sure to watch the video to see how using a guide for stamping gives better results.) I then applied Altenew Ink (SSS | ALT) over the surface and wiped away the extra with a dry cloth. The Versamark Ink “resists” the color on top, leaving a soft, subtle background.
I used the new Altenew Fine Alphabet Die Set (SSS | ALT) to create a stacked “hugs” sentiment with white glitter paper on top… and embossed “sending” from the Altenew Frosted Garden Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). I added Grafix Platinum Vellum leaves cut with the Altenew Garden Silhouette Die Set (SSS | ALT) and pearls.
Here is another example using the same supplies and techniques. The “you amaze me” is from the Altenew New Day Card Kit… and the “from my hands to your heart” on the envelope is from the Altenew Rustic Linen Stamp Set (SSS | ALT).
And one more… I really like the resist backgrounds!
Here is one more example of basic resist… just to show how you can control how vibrant the results are. I used the Altenew Rustic Linen Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) for the resist background. Subtle but pretty! I added a fun layered sentiment using the Altenew Botanical You Stamp Set (SSS |ALT).
That layered image is so pretty and easy to create…
Now it’s time for resist with layering! I first did the resist technique for the background with the solid leaf layer of the Altenew Crown Bloom Stamp Set (SSS | ALT). After applying ink and removing the excess, I stamped the detailed layers from the stamp set on top with matching inks. This creates such a unique look!
I added a flower stamped with the Altenew Crown Bloom Stamp Set (SSS | ALT) and a sentiment from the Altenew Starry Flowers Stamp Set (SSS | ALT).
This next background also features layered resist. This time I used the Altenew Bride To Be Stamp Set (SSS | ALT).
I also added a few playful rings cut with the new Altenew Fine Frames Circles Die (SSS | ALT)…
If you have never tried the resist technique, I recommend it!
