Dimensional Die Cut Backgrounds + GIVEAWAY
Hello! A few days ago, I shared a video showing how to add dimension to stamped backgrounds. Today I am again talking about dimension… but this time with die cutting and stencils!

Adding dimension to your cards truly adds so much… and is one of the joys of handmade cards. If you haven’t seen my last video HERE, be sure to watch it!
My first card shows a very simple way to add fun dimension to a cover-plate-die-cut card. I die cut five pieces from the new-and-oh-so-awesome Simon Says Stamp Marilyn Die… each in different colors. I glued one onto a notecard. I then trimmed away a bit of the pattern from the next, and glued it down on top of the first. And I repeated this until I had lots of colorful layers adding up to fun dimension in the middle. Easy and FUN.
I added a shimmer with Tsukineko Shimmer Spritz, a few gems… and a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Wreath Greetings Stamp Set.
My next card looks neon in these photos… but is really a soft lime green in real life. (Sorry for the poor photo quality!) But regardless, the technique is quite fun. 🙂
I started by inking up a background with Distress Oxide Ink and the new Simon Says Stamp Leafy Frame Stencil. I layered colors for a soft look. I then die cut the inked piece with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Die. After stacking four additional Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves die cuts, I adhered the pieces together on a card like a puzzle.
I finished the card with die cut Simon Says Stamp Mini Flowers, a Simon Says Stamp Playful Messages sentiment, and yellow pearls.
