I like cards that are a bit different… a bit unexpected. Today’s card designs offer this and are very simple!

Instead of just adding a stamped panel on the front of the card, I made the stamped panel a mini card (or flap) and added it a solid background. Just for something different!

My first card features the oh-so-pretty-and-classic stamp set from the Gina K Merry and Bright Kit. In the video I show how I used Sponge Daubers to multi-ink the pine and pine cones. For shimmer and shine, I used my Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer Marker and gold heat embossed the sentiment from the Gina K Dazzling Dahlia Stamp Set (GKD | SSS). The stamping is all on a 3 1/4″ x 5″ mini white notecard.

I stamped the Darkroom Door Elegant Script Stamp on a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ kraft cardstock panel and added another piece behind it for stability. I then adhered the mini card on top of the kraft piece and added Lucy’s Cards Ice Cube Jewels for accents.

My next example showcases the Gina K Festive Foliage Stamp Set (GKD | SSS). This set is a classic! I used the holly images from this set and created the berries with Nuvo Drops. I did change up the overall design a bit by using a flap element that is 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″.

The sentiment is also from the Gina K Dazzling Dahlia Stamp Set (GKD | SSS). I am using this set a lot!

My last card uses the Gina K Perfect Poinsettia Stamp Set (GKD | SSS). I have been using this set a lot this season! (I used it over in the Online Card Classes Merry Making Class, too.) This flower is very easy to line up and creates gorgeous results.

In the center of my poinsettia, I added both Copper Penny and Golden Sunset Glitter Nuvo Drops and I love the resulting texture!

  1. These cards are all gorgeous Jennifer but there’s something special about the one with the holly leaves. Holly leaves and berries just make me happy. Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend. ~HUGS~

  2. What a stunning cards Jennifer, I love them. I have a few smaller Xmas images that don’t match with eath other but I can use them in the way you made these cards. Thanks for this great idea!
    Have a nice weekend.

  3. Lovely cards! Thank you for, again, inspiring us with a different way to make cards. That shading is wonderful!

  4. I was trying to get a similar multicolour blended inked look but without using ink daubers. I wanted to stamp my first layer then add more darker ink in specific places by removing the ink in areas I didn’t want it. I tried a cloth, paper towel and my absorber and I just couldn’t get the smooth look I wanted. Finally I found that I could remove the unwanted ink the best by using my ink blending sponge! The edges are nice and soft and blended. Which is perfect because they are already stored with my inks and I don’t have to pay for or store more items! Yeah! You should try it.

  5. Those are beautiful stamps, and your techniques made them even more beautiful! Look forward to trying them! Thanks!

  26. I really like that daubing to get more variation in your stamped images technique. It gives a lot more depth to simple cards. I imagined “flap cards” like the MFT flap dies, but I looked it up and apparently that is a “flop card”… Well, I was close. I like these and that background stamp is gorgeous.
