As you likely know, I am a big fan of 2-for-1 techniques… where you can make two cards at once. Today’s trick is perfect for that! Keep in mind this works with any stamps. Watch the video to learn the trick – it is easy to do, but best understood by watching it.

To do this technique, I hold two white cardstock pieces up next to each other and stamp along the area where they meet. Then I rotate both pieces 180 degrees and repeat. Easy!

My first examples use the Clearly Besotted Pretty Pansies Stamp Set. This stamp set is great for this technique as it has large floral clusters. (These other Clearly Besotted sets would be great for this technique, too: Happily Ever After, Make a Wish, Just For You, and Sending Sunshine.)

I colored all the flowers with Copic Markers and covered them with Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer Marker. I added them to notecards and used Nuvo Drops for accents. The gorgeous sentiment is from the new Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Stamp Set. This stamp set can be bought separately or as part of the incredible Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Card Kit.

I also used the Clearly Besotted Pretty Pansies Stamp Set for these next two cards. However, this time I colored rainbow flowers and used a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp / Gina K We Can Do This Stamp Set. (100% of the SALES from this set goes to hurricane relief. Every single penny! YAY and thanks to SSS and Gina K!)

My next pair of examples feature the Simon Says Stamp Let Us Rejoice Stamp Set. This floral bouquet looks so lovely framing these cards. I used Nuvo Drops for the berries, too. The sentiment on the red card is also from the Simon Says Stamp Let Us Rejoice Stamp Set. So beautiful.

The pink example again uses a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Stamp Set.

The WPlus9 Christmas Rose Stamp Set is also great for this technique. The card on the left uses a Birch Press Just Because sentiment, and the card on the right uses a Clearly Besotted Say Its Christmas sentiment.

Adding Wink of Stella Shimmer adds so much to these almost-one-layer-cards.

I am really enjoying making mini cards these days. These two minis feature the main image from the Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Stamp Set and a great sentiment from the Hero Arts You Are Loved Stamp Set.

You can also do this technique with smaller images formed into a cluster. I again used the Simon Says Stamp Kind Flowers Stamp Set along with a sentiment from the Birch Press Just Because Stamp Set.

  1. I am crazy about these cards, they are great. I love the technique. Thanks for your ideas. I will be trying the ideas with a lot of my stamps.

  2. Love this time saving multi-card making tip! I’m attending Kathy’s road trip even in a couple of weeks, this is the perfect way to prepare some things to take to that event and have the basics for cards I need in the future. I love to have cards that I can just add sentiments to for any occasion I need.

  3. Another great idea, thank you so much! I do hope you’re not getting sick, your voice did not quite sound the same. But if you are I hope you find some time to take it easy and I hope you’re better soon!

  4. This technique is so clever and it saves time! You always come up with the best ideas! Thank you for sharing 🙂.

  5. Hello. I am planning to make cards as Christmas presents for the support staff at work. There are many of them and I cannot afford to get fancy, expensive gifts for them, but i think they will appreciate something made especially for them. These seem so easy, but they don’t look easy. I think they will present very well.

    Thank you for sharing this!

  6. Jennifer what a awesome idea and video, I love it. These cards are so pretty and a great idea when you need to do multiple cards, which I happen to have the opportunity to do so this blog post came at a great time for me. My husband happen to come across an article about Military men and women who are away serving our country and don’t get any mail and they were looking for people to send cards or write, so I decided I would love to make them some cards so they would have mail to open so they would know someone was thinking of them and appreciated and cared about them. This story really touched my heart when he told me about it, I just got such a visual of mail call and someone not getting any when everyone around them did, it made me so sad. Anyways, thanks for the awesome video, perfect timing.

  7. How clever! I love that this gives me new ways to maximize the benefits not only of my larger stamps but also of my MISTI! So for me, it’s a two-for-one video, on top of yielding two-for-one cards. 🙂

  8. Jennifer I love that you continually find fun ways to may card-making more efficient and then you graciously share those ideas with us. Yes your creations are wonderful examples to learn from and your teaching style is so easy to follow but it is your genuine heart and your authentic love and kindness to others that is so inspiring to me. Seriously, I aspire to be a better person and use my craft to show others kindness because of you❤️

  9. Hi Jennifer!
I loved seeing these gorgeous cards! They are so bright and cheerful. I think people would especially enjoy them during this time of staying at home.
I do wonder what size your mini cards are cut? And, I don’t know if you ever share your copic colors used. I am just in love with your blue blends on the mini card! Perhaps, you’d be willing to share? I need to buy some blue copics. I’d love to get those colors. Thank you so very much!
