Embossed Impressions + GIVEAWAYS
Hi there! Today I am revisiting one of my favorite techniques… where I use a die to heat emboss and make an impression. I am also part of a fun blog hop!

I first introduced this technique a year ago (check out the video HERE)… but loved it so much I thought I would do it again. It works great with any wafer thin die!
For each of my cards, I used Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Foliage Dies Cuts (SSS | EH | PPP) and Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper (SSS | EH). I first *lightly* inked the leaf dies with Versamark Ink and laid it onto my watercolor paper…. before running it through my die cut machine with a Spellbinders Tan Embossing Mat. This not only creates an impression in the cardstock, but also puts a bit of ink in the impressed lines. I heat embossed the image with gold embossing powder and end up with a leaf impression with thin gold lines. Swoon!
Next I watercolored the leaves with various colors of Distress Ink and water. (See the thumbnails at the end of the post for the colors used.)
For a few of the cards, I added a heat embossed banner image from the Pretty Pink Posh Angel Friends Stamp Set (SSS | EH | PPP) and a “lots of love” sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Everyday Greetings Stamp Set (SSS | EH | PPP). The thin Darice Foam Adhesive Strips are perfect for giving this piece dimension.
That banner sentiment image would be great on many cards with any small sentiment inside.
I also used a “get well soon” sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Rainy Days Stamp Set (SSS | EH | PPP) on a few of the cards.
I did a few other card designs, also. This fantastic sentiment is from the Pretty Pink Posh Thoughtful Greetings Stamp Set (SSS | EH | PPP). I could use this message often! I flicked water on and then added gold embossing powder. After heat setting, I have a fun gold splatter look.
And another, using the Pretty Pink Posh Everyday Greetings Stamp Set (SSS | EH | PPP).
By the way, these cards a bit smaller – at 3.5″ x 5″. This size is called 4-bar, and I used the perfect size kraft envelopes to match.
I used the die and my Spellbinders Tan Embossing Mat to make a matching impression on my envelope. I learned this trick from my friend Heather Ruwe – she is so creative!
You can also make an impression with a die but skip the heat embossing. That is what I did here for my final example.
